Babel In The Flesh

Object confuses written and spoken languages with the exception of sign language, constructed languages. Found to emit energy waves at a unique frequency that causes this effect and as such is contained in a cell that prevents this energy from passing through to the outside. Likely steel. Containment is not always reliable due to the energy's slow, but steady deterioration of the steel. The object does not appear to cause any actual harm to those who come into contact with it unless it is confronted in a way that makes it feel threatened. Subjects in contact with the object are required to communicate through either sign language or constructed language. Thus any audio logs with the said creature would have to use a constructed language and any reports to be written within the range also require that protocol. Subjects are to be in at least pairs when dealing with the creature. Subjects may find themselves unable to communicate after contact with the creature for some time as the energy has been absorbed into their bodies. Any form of protective gear is not viable as only certain metals seem to stop the energy and wearing a suit of such metals is functionally impossible given how thick they would need to be. Plus any openings to the skin, eyes, hair, etc could be a conduit. The creature is a humanoid that is very tall, thin, and almost spire-like in form. The object has various words of different languages engraved in its skin, which is very rough, wrinkled, and brownish.

Debate on whether it should literally be changing what language they are speaking or if it just alters perception. Only scatters to an existing language. Scatters again after a set variable of time.
