Timo8474: SCP-6000; Virginian Creepers
rating: 0+x

Item #: SCP-6000

Object Class: Euclid(Safe)

Special Containment Procedures: The entity is to be contained within a five(5) Liter mason jar with a temperature resistance of -16.5°F, and is to be placed within a 1ft. × 1ft. × 8in. steel container. Its containment chamber must remain at a minimum temperature of 30°F. In the event of a coolant failure, the room is to be filled with liquid nitrogen for a maximum of one(1) hour or until the generator is repaired, which the room is to then be drained and the container is to be examined for cracks or fractures within the jar, and to be replaced by two(2) Level 1 Janitorial Personnel in Level B/ Type 3 Hazmat attire. Any personnel found to have direct physical contact with SCP-6000 are to immediately be quarantined, and MTF Beta-23 (Gardener's Shears) is to be informed of the situation, along with a list of any other personnel that came into contact with said affected individual. Should MTF Beta-23 be unable to contain SCP-6000, Protocol 6000-FL should be enacted immediately.

Description: SCP-6000 is an offspring of the Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus Quinquefolia) that is identifiable by the variation of Maroon-Brown spots on the leaves of the subject. When a subject comes into direct physical contact with any living mammalian, reptilian, or avian orifice, the entity becomes an instance of SCP-6000-1. The subject undergoes a series of metabolic, physical, and chemical changes to its anatomy, which can occur during the timespan of 1-14 days, during which the subject may become an instance of SCP-6000-A or -B.

These changes have been noted to occur during a set of 4 stages, although the consistency of time frames between stages has so far been determined to be based on the physical constitution of the afflicted along with said personnel’s white blood cell count.

●Stage One: SCP-6000-1 develops mild rashes, including around the point of contact, itchy eyes, sore throat, coughing, wheezing, and/or increased hunger. The subject starts to develop a slight hunch. If the subject had required glasses, said personnel’s prescription was noted to have increased by 3-3.5 points.

●Stage Two: Subject's rashes increase in severity and rash at the point of contact turns a dark blue-blackish color. They start to lose various motor functions, coughing and wheezing increases in severity, hunger occasionally becomes insatiable during certain periods, mainly during the times of 12:00-16:00. SCP-6000-1 may also complain of cold temperatures, even if the environment is regulated to as high as 90°F. The above stated hunch continues to increase, and subject starts to lose eyesight, regardless of previous eye problems.

●Stage Three: Entity is about 75-85% covered in rashes, along with the point of contact increasing in size by 5-15%. The rash size increases about the same amount, and the coloration resembles a reddish-black hue. The subject's body begins to show signs of stretching, along with increased vein size and thickness. Vocalization from the subject is either incoherent or nonexistent at this stage. The cornea of the subject gains a pinkish hue and seems to shrink by around 10%. The subject is designated as blind, although hearing seems to have increased by 160% of normal standards. The subject now complains of extreme cold at any temperature below 105°F and has a fully insatiable hunger.

At this point, Stage 4 was noted to have two vastly different outcomes of infection, and will therefore be designated as Stage 4-A and Stage 4-B.

  • Stage 4-A: Within the timespan of 3-10 minutes, the entity will develop large pores along the spine and chest, and veins will increase rapidly in size, almost to twice above the norm. About 1-2 minutes after expansion, they begins to violently convulse, both veins and pores begin to pulse and wriggle about, which cause the subject to violently implode, and all extremities combust and start to spread multiple tendrils of SCP-6000 along any surface available, at a maximum range of 50 ft.
  • Stage 4-B: The entity begins to experience extreme pain to the jugular region and skull, resulting in SCP-6000-1's facial region tearing itself away and an instance of SCP-6000-B. The subject will then attempt to make physical contact with any mammalian entity within a 50 ft range. Any contact with the entity results in a rapid transformation of the personnel into an instance of SCP-6000-1, which can occur within one hour or less.

Currently, the only known way to contain SCP-6000, along with extermination of -A and -B, is via cryogenic weaponry, extreme cold, or the initiation of Protocol 6000-FL (See Document: Incident Report 6000-C), followed by standard weaponry.

Addendum: SCP-6000 was retrieved in ██████ Cryotherapy Center, located in ████████████, ████████, on March 7, 1974 after an Agent received reports from V.A.P.D involving abnormal growths from patients leaving the facility. After initial investigation, along with the loss of Agent Dillard and several members of the initial containment team, object was contained within a mason jar, and shipped on with an armed caravan to Site 19.
