Item #: SCP-4657
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4657 is to be contained within a solid steel, 7 ft x 7 ft x 7 ft air and water tight cube. This cell will have one access port: A sealed vault style door roughly the size of an entire wall of the containment zone. The interior walls of the cell are to be fully covered and padded with standard RFID signal blocking fabric. In the center of this cell is a folding table made of aluminum, which SCP-4657 is to rest upon. At the top of the northern wall of cell is an air vent, with a standard style grate covering, which leads to an exterior compartment from the cell. In this compartment is an industrial fan and several access ports which can hold multiple oxygen tanks at a time. The hatch that accesses this port is available from outside of the cell, allowing Foundation personnel to access and replace oxygen safely without contact of SCP-4657. When required, on-site personnel will remotely close the ventilation grate within the cell in order to safely replace empty oxygen tanks and resume the air conditioning of the cell. Lastly, a high quality RFID or drone signal jamming device is to be left in the southwestern corner of the cell, that can be remotely activated in case of facility-wide containment breaches to insure that SCP-4657 does not breach it's cell.
Description: SCP-4657 is a globally unknown parasitic bacteria that festers on whatever surface it is currently given, which is typically a petri dish set upon the table within its cell. This bacteria is highly infectious, and is quite resistant to extreme temperature, both hot and cold. It is currently suggested that in this form, SCP-4657 is possibly not sentient, or at least unintelligent, given its bacterial state.
SCP-4657 is, if given the chance, highly infectious and aggressive, attempting to spread to any living host in its vicinity. When its bacterial form reaches a potential host, it will begin to enter the body's immune system and overwhelm its defenses, rendering the host incapable of independently fighting back. SCP-4657 will then attempt and typically succeed in entering the host's brain and accessing the entire body, taking full control. At this point, SCP-4657 will then use the body functions and resources of the host to begin its transformation.
The transformation of SCP-4657 is fast and aggressive, typically taking between 30 minutes to 1 hour to fully complete, depending on the host's current medical support. The body of the host, human or otherwise, will begin to stretch, malform, and cause it's internal structure to protrude and disfigure at a rapid pace. At this point, if the host is human, they will have entirely lost their ability to speak for themselves, fight back, or otherwise attempt to communicate or struggle. The body of the host after transformation will always look relatively different from other specimens, but always attempt to retain a bulbous, vaguely humanoid form consisting of larger than usual body parts, excess fat, and thick or wiry muscles.
Once a host has been transformed, they are then referred to as SCP-4657-1. Instances of SCP-4657-1 are nearly always reported to attempt gutteral, inhuman vocalization, although in the English language. They typically speak about themselves, referring to them in third person speech, and calling themselves "bagrid". The usual sentences spoken are roughly understood to mean that these organisms all attempt to meet at a specific, unknown location in [DATA EXPUNGED]. From there it is understood that instances of "bagrid" desire to merge with eachother to "complete itself" and [DATA REDACTED].
Due to the fact that "bagrid" is known to be located in multiple areas around the globe, it is considered highly dangerous, and any sightings reported will result in immediate search of the area, MTF forces dispatched to handle the transformed threat, and research personnel to attempt to locate any remaining bacterial forms of SCP-4657 through the use of [DATA EXPUNGED], and bring it safely to containment with the rest of its kind.
Instances of SCP-4657-1 are known to be highly resilient and extremely deadly, often using excess bone and sinew to form weapon-like appendages on its arms or legs, utilizing them to tremendous affect in combat. Armed personnel tasked with the termination and containment of SCP-4657-1 are to be briefed on this information and armed with heavy weaponry and [DATA EXPUNGED]. However, the bulbous form, excess mass and slow metabolism of SCP-4657-1 instances work in favor of the Foundation, allowing use of aerial combat and long ranged weaponry to find and neutralize the threat they pose with relative ease.
Rarely, however, instances of SCP-4657-1 are known to utilize excess mass to elongate appendages for use against aerial vehicles or personnel at a medium distance.
It is rumored that Dr. ██████ and O5-███ have evidence of SCP-4657 directly referencing the Church of the Broken God as its enemy, stating that when it [DATA EXPUNGED], it will become a biological godlike being, utilizing its newfound unity to destabilize the Church and [DATA EXPUNGED].
