Special Containment Procedures: SCP-Placeholder is to be kept in a standard secure locker lined with 2 centimeters of lead at Site-15. All testing must be approved by someone of level 3 clearance or above. All testing must be done in a secure chamber 20 feet underground lined with half a meter of lead. A wired adapter to a cell tower should be used when calling someone with SCP-Placeholder. Should an instance of SCP-Placeholder-2 appear outside of testing, Mobile Task Force Unit Beta-7 “Maz Hatters” should be deployed to the site of contamination.

If someone answers a call from SCP-Placeholder, they will die via melting of the skin and internal organs. The cause of this appears to be extreme heat caused by radiofrequency radiation, the intensity of which exceeds the measurement capabilities of instruments available to the Foundation.
SCP-Placeholder appears to use electricity as a normal cell phone of its kind would. However, when it is out of sufficient power it will still be able to place calls, despite there being no power to the screen, keys, or anything else in the phone.
If someone were to call SCP-Placeholder, it would emit RF radiation sufficient enough to completely melt the one who answers a call from SCP-Placeholder in less than a second. Outward radiation does not appear to affect anything except the one who answers a call from SCP-Placeholder. It is as of yet impossible for the Foundation to measure this amount of radiation with current tools.
SCP-Placeholder was seized in the office of John S. Chen in ██████, ███████ on the date of October 13, 2011, after police calls of a dead chairman of the company Motorola via melting. The Foundation was able to play it off as a death by heart attack. Class A amnestics have been used on all non-authorized personnel involved. False memories have been implanted. Foul play by Chen using SCP-Placeholder is suspected and highly likely. Investigation is ongoing.
Addendum Placeholder.1: Upon investigation, it appears Chen bought the item in question from notable GoI Marshall, Carter, and Dark. It is possible - and almost certain - that he intended to use SCP-Placeholder to eliminate competition. However, how M, C, and D got ahold of the item is unknown. Further investigation required.
