Item #: SCP-4296
Object Class: Safe Euclid Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4296 is to be kept in a locked firearms safe in Site 19. SCP-4296 is to be fired two (2) times a day at the Shooting Range in Site 191 and routinely cleaned and maintained by Level 2 Personnel or above. SCP-4296 is only to be removed from storage for testing purposes. Under no circumstances are Class-D Personnel to be used to test fire SCP-4296.
Description: SCP-4296 is a handgun, similar to a H&K VP9, with no identifying marks. The object is constructed in the same manner as a standard H&K VP9, except for the fact the handgun contains no magazine well, nor a magazine release. The safety features of the handgun cannot be disabled by non-anomalous means.
SCP-4296, when fired, expels a projectile of random calibre, ranging from 2.7mm to, on one occasion, an 80cm artillery shell2 with the recoil of shooting a standard 9x19mm rounds. Standard 9mm casings are expelled during firing. Despite the object having no magazine well, SCP-4296 can only fire 13 times. Attempts to fire more than 13 times lead to the grip of the gun heating to 110° Celsius. The object is able to be fired again after 3 (Three) Hours.
Due to SCP-4296's Unreliability and Destructive Capabilities, all requests by personnel for SCP-4296 to be utilised in field missions are to be denied, and the personnel in question to be subject to psycological evaluation.3
SCP-4296 was recovered after a search on a household in [REDACTED], Poland, in which Foundation Agents embedded in the local police force, found the SCP in a ditch behind the house after the front section had been blown off of the house, likely by the owner of the SCP, who was killed in the collapse.
