SCP-5036
rating: 0+x

Item Number: SCP-5036

Object Class: Elucid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5036 is kept inside an 8ft x 8ft x 8ft cube made from straight Graphene. It is held on a 2ft x 2ft x 3ft Graphene podium. Its pot is also 100% made of straight Graphene. The pot is 1ft x 1ft x 1.5ft in width and depth. The pot also has no holes on the bottom for roots to grow out. On the roof, there are two parallel 4ft long tube UV lights edited to SCP-5036's proper needs of sunlight. SCP-5036 must be fed properly and professionally, watered properly and professionally, trimmed once a day, and be given the right amount of UV Light 24/7. Any being that enters the containment zone, must not touch SCP-5036. Touching SCP-5036 will not harm you, but we fear that this may disrupt its water or food levels. No one may consume SCP-5036, for it has toxins inside of its leaves, and stem. Any reports of misfeeding SCP-5036 must be reported immediately before further action. SCP-5036 does bear fruit, and it appears about a week after growing. SCP-5036’s fruit is safe to eat, but we do not recommend eating it still. SCP-5036 is never to be overfed, or underfed, it must be fed the exact amount every day. Any reports of underfeeding must be reported immediately.

Description: SCP-5036 looks like an everyday houseplant, it’s scientific name is Monstera Deliciosa. This plant must be fed properly 24/7 because if overfed, the plant will seek for food in any material. This means that the plant will chew through almost anything. The only thing that SCP-5036 seems to not consume is Graphene. Therefore, it must be contained in Graphene. SCP-5036 was found in █████████ near a creek, and seemed to dominate its previous environment. SCP-5036 bears fruit that looks like a mixture between a banana and a corn ear. This fruit is not poisonous. You will not be harmed if you touch SCP-5036, but only if you eat it.

Its fruit is a mixture of sweet and sour. The fruit can only grow if the plant grows, which we do not want. Whenever SCP-5036 is not fed, it will not only eat anything, but it will also tremendously, and rapidly grow in size and surface area in a matter of hours. Tests have proved that SCP-5036’s metabolism when not fed properly is close to the average of 1.3m per hour when fed properly. SCP-5036 grows almost like vines, spreading along the floor and grabbing and eating whatever it touches. Including Humans. There are main veins that grow out of SCP-5036, then smaller veins strand off of those veins, there are averagely 4 - 6 main veins that spread out from SCP-5036. When SCP-5036 does grow because of misfeeding properties, it seems to grow other species of plants off of the main veins, and eventually, the strands that branch off of the veins. The most common plants to grow are, evenly, dandelions, oak trees, and pine trees. It will grow many more species than those three, but aren’t seen as commonly as those.

Once SCP-5036 has grown about 20m across total, that is when other plants seem to grow off. After about 50m across total, you will start to see soil development. After 55m across, in a matter of hours, land formations appear, as a small hill, or a mound, then eventually a plateau. After 70m across total, water will appear on those small mounds or the ground, making small puddles, then eventually ponds. Sometimes depending on the land formation, waterfalls will possibly appear. It is thought that the creek where SCP-5036 was originally found, was made from SCP-5036. After a staggering 100m across total, SCP-5036 has the capability of forming its own clouds. Tests have proved this by there being a clear sky’s day, and after about an hour, a cloud will form. It is thought that SCP-5036 can form clouds to give precipitation to its other plants. Also at 100m, small organisms will appear. There have been reports of something as small as an Armadillidiidae (pill bug) to a full-grown fox. There are of course creatures between those two, those two just represent the size differentiations best. Beyond 200m of growth is not yet known and is suspected to be “Just more plants and stuff", because past 100m, nothing seemed to change.

Once you remove SCP-5036 from the environment that it has created, after approximately a week (if it is 200m across), the rest of the ecosystem will die off. The only way to destroy the ecosystem SCP-5036 has created is by removing SCP-5036, from the center.

Addendum: Tests of SCP-5036 were conducted at the ██████ Desert in ██████████ (for enough sunlight and officials provided water, but no soil), inside an undiscovered cave in ██████ (for no sunlight but plenty of water and soil), and a dry forest in ████████ (for plenty sunlight and soil but no water). Below are the results of the tests. Every test is conducted at Noon. Every test had Monstera Deliciosa removed from the source so no further damage could be done. Dr. ██████ led the controlled experiments.

██████ Desert in █████████: After about an hour, SCP-5036 grew 2.6m instead of 1.3m. At 6:00 PM, SCP-5036 grew about 18.6m on each side making 37.2m across total. At Midnight, SCP-5036 grew an additional 25.7m on each side making the total 88.6m wide. By 6:00 AM, SCP-5036 grew an additional 20.3m making the total 129.2m wide. Heading back to Noon, SCP-5036 grew an additional 35.4m adding up to a total of 200m in a single day. It seems as though sand might have some nutritional boost like powers for the plant because it grew faster than expected.

Undiscovered Cave in ██████: After about an hour, SCP-5036 grew 3m. By 6:00, SCP-5036 grew 24m on each side, making a total of 48m wide. By Midnight, SCP-5036 grew an additional 24m on each side, making a total of 96m on each side. By 6:00 AM, SCP-5036 grew another 24m making a total of 144m wide. By Noon again, SCP-5036 grew another additional 24m once again. Making a total of 196m in one day. The amount that grew stayed the same each time probably because SCP-5036 stayed in the same conditions for the whole day. Although right after we finished testing for the day, SCP-5036 did breach through the cave roof.

Dry forest in ████████: In one hour, SCP-5036 grew a staggering 5m. By 6:00 Pm, it grew 30m on each side. Making the total length 60m across. By Midnight, SCP-5036 grew an additional 40m, 30m being no water, 10m being no sunlight. Making 70m on each side, making there being 140m total. By 6:00 AM, SCP-5036 grew an additional 35m. Making 205m the entire length. By Noon again, SCP-5036 grew an additional 30ft once more. Making the entire length 270m across. It seems as if water is the most needed supply for SCP-5036. While soil is the least worrisome requirement for SCP-5036.
