Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX’s entrances are to be covered by 2 meter, by two meter high carbon steel walls with reinforced steel bulkheads to serve as an entrance. Any escaped SCP-XXXX-1 instances are to be tracked, captured, and contained on site within steel containment units of varying measurements depending solely on the size of the anomaly. Direct contact at this time with SCP-XXXX requires permission from the Island Station CE as well as at least level 2 clearance. Direct contact with SCP-XXXX is not allowed currently, due to the events that occurred on May ██ ████.
Contact with instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are not prohibited, but caution is advised as the instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are suffering the side affects of the airborne ████-███████ in the containment unit. Use of a Level A Grade I - Grade V Foundation Hazmat Suit is necessary to safety if long term exposure to SCP-XXXX-1 or the airborne ████-███████. If any living material is brought into contact with the ████-███████ they are to be immediately taken to the on site medical ward and receive a Whole Lung Lavage, and any saline solution used to cleanse the subject is to be collected and stored for later testing.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a cave system on the Inaccessible Island of Tristan da Cunha, in the Southern Atlantic Ocean due WSW of Cape Town, South Africa. The cave system is accessed through a small crevice of 1 meter by 1 meter in dimension. The length of these cave systems, seem to be infinite, this conclusion is the most widely panned due to the events of May ██ ████.
The cave is inhabited by various prehistoric entities, the most prevalent of which are early forms of hominids, henceforth identified as SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 primarily live within the cave system of SCP-XXXX, and supposedly subsist off of the other instances of SCP-XXXX-1. These instances appear to be from all different eras of the earths evolutionary timeline, the farthest dating back is what is believed to be an offset of Plesiadapis tricuspidens, one of the earliest primates on record.
SCP-XXXX was discovered by natives from the nearby island of Tristan Da Cunha, North-East of Inaccessible Island. The group was administered Class B amnestics, due to lack of prior knowledge as to when these natives had explored the island and uncovered SCP-XXXX. They were promptly dropped off on a small boat (provided by the Foundation) and fed a story of an unsuccessful fishing trip, with all memory of the cave and it's contents wiped clean.
The caves walls are lined with a previously unknown mold, who's spores contained a chemical compound of unknown nature. The compound was purported to reverse the age of any living organism or material that had absorbed or inhaled the compound. Upon further analysis and testing of air samples, it was finalized that the mold spores contained what is referred to as the ████-███████
which causes the organism that absorbs or inhales it, to slowly begin devolving to it's last tract in the organisms evolutionary timeline. The process takes place over the course of 35-86 depending on the health of the subjects respiratory system or in some cases the overall speed of the subjects metabolism.
