Welcome to my SCP idea box. Hope you guys like my concepts.
This page simply lists the designated names I've given my SCPs. The numbers are obviously not final and are simple placeholders, subject to change should these be considered for the main website.
SCP-5000 - Torn World
My first idea I'm actually confident in. Everything else, I'm gonna hold off on. (The number is a placeholder for the sake of table of contents.)The expeditions will be written at a later point.
SCP-5000 - Torn World
Item #: SCP-5000
Object Class: Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: Containment of SCP-5000 is nigh-on impossible, and instances of SCP-5000-1 are to be located and neutralized effective immediately. Only one (1) instance of SCP-5000-1 is to physically exist at a time.
The primary instance of SCP-5000-1 is currently located at the peak of Mt. Everest, exactly 8,746 meters (28,694 feet) above sea level. This is the origin point in which SCP-5000-1 initially manifested. Only personnel of level 4 clearance or higher are allowed any form of interaction with SCP-5000 or instances of SCP-5000-1, and must be escorted by O5 officers at all times.
As of ██/██/████, a transport system has been made at Site-██ for the purpose of effectively reaching primary instance of SCP-5000-1. Primary instance is monitored by thermal cameras mounted within SCP-5000 and on the peak of Mt. Everest.
Description: SCP-5000 refers to all sub-designated anomalies that make up a physically impossible spacial rend. SCP-5000 manifests through what can be best described as an interdimensional entryway, designated SCP-5000-1, and exists parallel to the planet Earth. Instances of SCP-5000-1 lead to the same origin location of SCP-5000-1 within SCP-5000, regardless of where in the world it is entered from. Animate and inanimate objects can pass through SCP-5000-1 seamlessly, with no known side-effects outside of acute nausea.
The landscape present within SCP-5000 has been reported to resemble a series of staggering cliffs going upward and downward at various altitudes. Ground is comprised of an unknown substance resembling dirt. It should be noted that any chunks of "dirt" that pass through SCP-5000-1 disintegrate upon entry into our universe. Additionally, the landscape does not appear to harbor any signs of organic life. As of ██/██/████, no lifeforms have been found to naturally inhabit SCP-5000. There are also no traces of oxygen within SCP-5000, requiring all entrants to wear a fully functional Extravehicular Mobility Unit (EMU) in order to breathe.
The geography of SCP-5000 has been noted to be incredibly inconsistent and naturally physically impossible. Several cliffs close to the internal exit of SCP-5000-1 have reached altitudes higher than any mountain, with the tallest known heights at 10,897 meters (35,751 feet) and 12,582 meters (41,279 feet) above sea level. Similar depths occur with downward slopes, with the deepest recorded altitude being -9,822 meters (-32,224 feet) below sea level.1
SCP-5000 also lacks any form of "sky". The void that substitutes for a known "sky" is seemingly endless. Sinkholes, craters, and gaps within the terrain reveal long drops to the abyss below, requiring extreme caution when traversing SCP-5000. Expeditions have also revealed that, despite the lack of life, SCP-5000 contains a substance very similar to water, sub-designated as SCP-5000-2, and various inexplicable waterfalls with no identifiable origin points have been discovered. The substance of SCP-5000-2, though very similar to water, does not have temperature, nor does it cause anyone or anything that comes into contact with it to get wet. It is currently unknown if it is able to be ingested, or if contact with it causes adverse effects..
When an object or individual enters SCP-5000, that entity no longer obeys the known laws of physics. Various personnel who have entered SCP-5000 have recorded the following physical anomalies:
- The ability to walk on horizontally, and upside down in areas provided.
- The ability to swim up SCP-5000-2 waterfalls.
- The ability to swim down SCP-5000-2 waterfalls that have been found upside down.
- The ability to ████████ when coming into contact with another individual's ████████ ██████.
- An assortment of other anomalies that occur when [DATA EXPUNGED] is involved, though it is highly recommended that personnel refrain from engaging in any of these scenarios.
Cliff sides and platforms are shown to be warped by the lawless nature of SCP-5000's mere existence, all of which can be traversed due to the lack of natural gravity. Despite this, actions such as jumping do not appear to show any anomalous effects, implying there is some sort of altered form of gravity present in SCP-5000. These altered and inconsistent laws of physics, and the results of said laws, are collectively designated as SCP-5000-3.
Six (6) expeditions have been held in SCP-5000. Radio communication seems to extend for 30,000 meters (98,425 feet), or nineteen (19) miles from SCP-5000-1 before all communication is abruptly lost. All six expedition teams have failed to return and remain unaccounted for. Radio communications have yet to resurface.
Addendum 5000-A: Following the first expedition, it has been determined that it is impossible to take photographs or record video footage within SCP-5000, as all media coverage of any sort will come out as a completely black screen.
Information recovered from each expedition is inconsistent, and as such, reported discoveries made within SCP-5000 are of conjecture and have yet to be properly confirmed or denied. Additionally, mile markers that have been placed within SCP-5000 are only known to go nineteen (19) miles in each direction. As such, it is unknown how many more, if any, mile markers exist past these points, due to SCP-5000 cutting all radio connection following exceeding nineteen miles in travel distance. It is unknown what lies beyond the nineteenth mile marker in any direction explored, or if it is possible to return to SCP-5000-1 once a certain distance has been exceeded.
Expeditions have been logged for future reference. All future expeditions must be approved by O5 and Site-██ Administrator ██████ before taking place.
+ Expedition 5000-6Addendum 5000-B: Instances of SCP-5000-1 have been reported to periodically manifest throughout the world. Reports imply that SCP-5000-1 instances did not occur until █ weeks passed following SCP-5000's initial discovery. The following locations have been affected by an SCP-5000-1 instance:
- One (1) instance in the southeast portion of Durban, South Africa.
- One (1) instance at the centermost point of Delhi, India.
- Two (2) simultaneous instances found on the east and west sides of Fukuoka, Japan.
- Three (3) separate instances have occurred in Calgary, Canada.
- Eighteen (18) simultaneous instances have been found at the █████████ and █████████ points in the Antarctic, all of which have caused considerable distortion to the landscape and vast amounts of [REDACTED] that has led to [DATA EXPUNGED].
- Four (4) separate instances across Morocco.
- One (1) instance in Austin, Texas, US. This is the most recent instance.
We're starting to slip up now, we're struggling hard at finding every instance. How many of these things are there? Where do they keep coming from?! How many people have gone inside, if any? These things are detrimental.
-O5 Officer █████
Addendum 5000-C:
I request we store SCP objects ███, ███, ████, ████, and ████ in SCP-5000. If we can figure out some way to alter the landscape, not only will Subsite-5000-A remain protected, but it will be impossible for any of these SCP objects to reach SCP-5000-1 and reemerge. This can be done if we [DATA EXPUNGED]. It will take time.
- Dr. ██████
Request processed. Permission granted. After Expedition 5000-6, all further objects and individuals entering SCP-5000 are prohibited without permission. Storing such objects is too dangerous.
- O5 Officer ████████
We're endangering the foundation by keeping them here. Why aren't we taking the safest option? Destruction of SCP-5000's terrain won't affect us. It's the best option we have.
- Dr. ██████
Request denied.
- O5 Officer ████████
Addendum 5000-D:
This is very unprofessional, but as the leading researcher for these expeditions, I don't care. I've learned a lot from this, the foundation has learned so much from these expeditions. SCP-5000 is so simple on the surface, but it's such an anomaly that we can't simply overlook it anymore. We have slacked on researching it for the past █ weeks, and I won't stand for it.
SCP-5000 is an enigma that I'm on the verge of breaking. I don't believe any of the anomalies presented in the expeditions are conjecture. I simply can't. Why, with everything the foundation has been through, everything we've experienced, what do we really know? This isn't information we can throw over our shoulders. Call it a hunch or call it an obsession, but I truly believe there is countless bits of information to be learned from this dimension.
I will be entering SCP-5000, and I don't care about getting permission. I will conduct the seventh expedition by myself, and I will return. There is a tether in my toolkit that I will keep along the mile markers, and I will be traveling due north. There are nineteen known mile markers, and I'll be taking eleven extra with me. Once I reach the thirtieth mile, I will return to the foundation. Hopefully, I can find the missing expedition teams, and uncover the mystery of what could be lurking in the deepest parts of SCP-5000.
Please, do not follow me. Consider me a lost cause dying to be found. This is my final message.
- Dr. ██████, Administrative Overseer of SCP-50002
