SCP-XXXX
Object class: Euclid
Special containment procedures:
All instances of SCP-XXXX are to be housed within a 5m x 5m x 100m steel chamber. All surfaces within this chamber are to be coated with a finely ground powder composed of pulverized quartz, powdered graphite, and gold dust of 99.53% purity.
(Addendum xxxx-1a: Due to a containment breach resulting in the deaths of — D-Class and -- personel, the gold component within the chamber coating must be of at least 99.6% purity. Anything less than this will result in a containment breach due to the semi-corporeal nature of SCP-XXXX)
Absolutely no light within the visible spectrum (approximately 380nm to 740nm) is to be allowed within the chamber.
(Addendum xxxx-1b: After testing the degree of which SCP-XXXX is able to detect the emmitence of light, it has been found that simply "throwing some duct tape" over the indicator lights on equipment taken into the chamber of SCP-XXXX will not work. SCP-XXXX will utilize the light being emmited regardless of the light being visible to observers. It seems as though any object emitting light within the visible spectrum can be detected, and subsequently used to affect anyone within the chamber. However, removal of all LED indicator lights, as well as all other sources of light emmitence within the chamber appears to work.)
Satillite monitoring of radiation levels within heavily populated and heavily forested areas worldwide have yielded results in detecting possible SCP-XXXX instances. Once the cycle of infection has reached its end, all SCP-XXXX instances involved will emmit very high levels of gamma radiation in all directions for a period of 1.3 seconds. Monitoring news outlets and communication channels for reports of unexplained cases of radiation sickness has been implimented.
