Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained inside a lead lined room, flush against with the back wall. The door is to be locked by electronic means, with the locking mechanism out of view from inside the room to avoid tampering, and constructed out of an non-naturally occuring metal alloy such as steel.1 The door lock is to be constructed out of metal output by SCP-914 when given 1kg of steel on the Very Fine setting to further prevent anomalous tampering. The item is to be placed under 24 hour closed circuit video surveillance, with multiple cameras hidden from sight, in addition to an unconcealed wireless speaker. In the event of a breach elsewhere in the facility, the item is to be covered in tight steel chains such that the item cannot open. When the item is chained, it is safe and may be left unsupervised for long periods of time.

Any creatures that emerge from SCP-XXXX are to be thoroughly investigated for anomalous properties, such as the ability to manipulate objects without physical contact. For this purpose, objects such as childrens building blocks and soft furniture incapable of damaging the SCP must be placed in the room. Emergent creatures that do not exhibit any anomalous behaviours may be interacted with by researchers or test subjects of B Class or below, with permission from a supervising researcher. Generally, humanoid creatures emerging do not display anomalous properties, however a full analysis documented in [REDACTED] must be performed on any creatures.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is an antique wardrobe, built shortly before World War 2. It is constructed from the silver-tinged wood of an ancient apple tree, and has several memetic effects on those nearby it, including increased happiness and mental wellbeing. It was obtained after reports of missing children in a small English town, and was removed from the attic of an old house in [REDACTED], England, and now resides in Site 19.

However, the most fascinating property of the wardrobe is that the inside contains a portal to a fantasy dimension, experiencing time several orders of magnitude faster than in our own dimension. Creatures frequently emerge from the portal, including fauns, humans, common fauna such as rats, birds and rabbits, and a few other species. Periodically, centaurs emerge for as little as 15 seconds to survey their surroundings, and then disappear back into the other dimension before they can be analysed for anomalous characteristics other than their physique. On multiple occasions, a thick maned intelligent lion (henceforce SCP-XXXX-1) with various anomalous traits has emerged, and has divulged information about itself and the dimension past the portal. SCP-XXXX-1 has exhibited the ability to manipulate matter on a large scale, having dismantled the door to SCP-XXXX's containment in mere seconds before the containment and Object Class were revised (see Addendum 1.)

It is noted that on one occasion shortly after the first missing expedition party entered the portal, an army of [DATA EXPUNGED] emerged headed by one of the D-Class personnel reported missing. Minimal damage was done to the containment room. Due to the age of the electric collar (well beyond the expected lifespan of a D-Class personnel's service) armed security guards were forced to enter the containment cell. The creatures [DATA EXPUNGED] D-Class personnel and 3 of the guards before being terminated. The rest of the guards, along with the supervising staff on camera duty and the janitor responsible for cleanup, quickly recovered from PTSD with the aid of SCP-999.

Multiple explorations into the alternate dimension have been conducted, originally with D-Class personnel, but then with research scientists accompanyed by armed guards. The dimension led to by SCP-XXXX has been deemed mostly safe, aside from some rare anomalous beings with harmful intent. Several expedition parties, comprised mainly of D-Class personnel, have, however, never returned; although later expeditions discovered members of the missing parties settled down in the other dimension. All D-Class personnel in question were reprimanded and re-assigned to more dangerous assignments.

Explorations into the linked dimension have revealed that the world is comprised of a series of continents with vastly different inhabitants, although only one continent other than the initial one has been explored as of 30/11/2017. The mainland, as described by the inhabitants and by SCP-XXXX-1, is populated with many anomalous creatures, although a great majority are not hostile.

Addendum 1:
On ██/██/19██, SCP-XXXX-1 emerged from SCP-XXXX for a second time, with no appearance of having aged since its last emergence. It immediately walked toward the door, and without any physical contact unlocked the door and disassembled the locking mechanism, leaving the mechanical parts on the ground. SCP-XXXX-1 then proceeded to explore the facility to the surprise of staff, using memetic effects to deter security personnel from reacting in a way that would harm it or SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 did not harm any personnel in its tour, and returned to SCP-XXXX less than an hour later.
