Subject can be observed to be an entity of little emotion, appearing cold and detached, preferring to get to the point and speak factually, similar to the researchers. Previous actions, however, show that it is not devoid of emotions, but simply not interested - for the most part - in interacting on a personal level with others outside of those it deems worth interacting with. Past events indicate that it has a soft spot for children, particularly those in unfortunate situations, and is proactive in looking after them. In the entity's own words, "Children didn't choose to be like this. They became like this because of others, one way or another. They deserve a chance to live a proper life." Whether this can help unveil the history of the subject is unknown.
A pivotal point in the classification of SCP-XXXX comes from its own honor and trust. Whether this is a rule of its existence or something decided by its personality is yet to be uncovered, and previous dealings with the entity to clarify the truth have been met with only a vague phrase; "As long as the agreement is upheld, I will keep my word." This has held true, and has facilitated positive results in testing and during bartering for requests.
One of the main points of focus for interviews with this enigmatic entity is to understand what it is, and why it is here. With its willingness to cooperate, there was much that was learned, but personnel remain ever skeptical as to the honesty, and the truth behind the words.
SCP-XXXX refers to itself as Observer, stating that this title, as well as its appearance, is what it has chosen for itself. When questioned further about this, the subject elaborated that it does not belong in this reality, this universe. Therefore, its original form, function, and powers were useless, and it decided that its new life would be to observe other life.
When queried about its original form, its words were unusually vague, explaining a concept rather than an existence. The closest analogy to what was said, is that it is a heart, a core to what it should be. On the subject of its function and powers, it seemingly pondered on how to say it without saying it, intentionally being evasive, possibly a desire to keep its powers a secret. The interviewer managed to extract enough information for others to decipher, deciding on the following: it was an entity to secure, contain, and protect, similar to the SCP Foundation, but the subjects of each was not the same. It would secure one thing, contain another thing, and protect a different thing.
When this line of questioning reached its end, the interviewer queried SCP-XXXX's existence not belonging to this reality. With previous objects leading to alternate dimensions, it was a fair line of thought that it may have escaped a similar such place. However when questioned, the entity would lose focus and stare into the distance with an expression of homesickness, and say "It was magical", ending this line of questioning.
One interviewer attempted to learn more about the incident at [REDACTED] which resulted in the loss of all involved personnel. SCP-XXXX became unusually uncooperative, refusing to speak. The interviewer, possibly irritated, or possibly being influenced by the subject, began attempting to evoke an emotional response from the entity in hopes that it would slip up and speak out. This caused a negative reaction in the subject while simultaneously providing a glimpse at the potential of SCP-XXXX's true power.
The following descriptions are pieced together from what was described by those present at the time, and lack professional opinion…
When the entity stood from its seat, the originally bright room dimmed considerably and color seemed to fade from the world. All anyone could see was the entity, the others in the room, the black smoke emanating from the entity, and its golden eyes which stood out at this time. The interviewer was the first to collapse after looking into the entity's eyes, and would later describe that it felt like looking into an abyss and having it look back, feeling a weight suppressing his entire body, and his being, his very existence, feeling threatened by what was in front of him.
Guards who were present hallucinated that the black smoke had turned into invisible hands reaching towards them, evoking an instinctual fear that made them back off. After no more than 18 seconds, according to the interview recording, the room returned to normal and the entity sat down again, before speaking the following
"I would tear your existence apart, if not for giving my word that I would do no harm to personnel when my own existence isn't threatened."
All who were present had no doubt in their mind that SCP-XXXX could do what he said if he wanted to. Shortly after providing his statement, the interviewer committed suicide during his psychological reconditioning.
