SCP-X During Procurement

Special Containment Procedures
SCP-X is to be stored in a locker with a biometric lock. Access must be approved by a level-4 officials for examination and experimentation purposes only.

During examination and/or experimentation all researchers must be well briefed, wear latex gloves when handling SCP-X and avoid skin contact with SCP-X-b’s string regardless. In the event that contact with the skin occurs the individual must use SCP-X-a to squeeze the string until it turns white.

Description
SCP-X appears to be shears, SCP-X-a, with a bicone shaped receptacle attached via a ring, SCP-X-b. The artifact was acquired after a police raid on an antiquities smuggling ring in the city of Bologna, Italy.

SCP-X-a are rudimentary shears with two blunt blades connected by a U-shaped handle. The entire artifact is 21cm x 8.5cm, with markings on the right blade. The artifact was forged out of a single rod of a gold alloy (59% Gold, 41% Copper). SCP-X-a has a rough surface due to dirt build-up and is reddish-yellow in colour.

SCP-X-b is a receptacle attached by a ring on to the end of SCP-X-a’s handle. SCP-X-b has a circular opening with 21 cm of white string protruding from the bottom. The artifact has a bicone shape, 7cm x 3cm, reddish-yellow with a polished surface composed of a gold alloy (40% Gold, 48% Copper and 2% Silver).

Upon skin contact with SCP-X-b’s string in 1-2 seconds it will change colour from white to red. The subject who originally made contact will begin to lose 1 year of there memory every 24 hours until either affect-a or affect-b is achieved:

  • Affect-a: The subject will continue to lose 1 year of there memory every 24 hours, starting from the earliest memories until becoming feral at which point the affects are irreversible.
  • Affect-b: The subject or another individual squeeze the string using SCP-X-a blunt blades causing the string to release the subjects blood stopping the memory loss from progressing. Although any memory lost up to the point when SCP-X-a was used will not be recoverable.

Examination X-1
Examination of SCP-X yielded results that the artifact was created around 5000 BC. The artifact is was established to be an advanced medical apparatus, which to some capacity has military applications.
