Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be surrounded by Class-B personnel at Site-1125 from 18:00 PM to 7:00 AM each day unless directed otherwise by Class-A authorization or higher. Personnel must always wear their provided hazmat suit when assigned guard duty. Personnel must always keep their Tesla-rifles primed in the event of a breach. No personnel must enter or leave Site-1125 unless given Class-A clearance. Any unauthorized breaches must be immediately terminated.
Every day at 7:00 AM, the electric fence surrounding the perimeter of SCP-XXXX must be powered down and inspected for any unnoticed breaches. At precisely 18:00 PM, the fence bust be powered back on and guarded.

Description: SCP-XXXX resembles an abandoned farm home in the center of a corn field (now Site-1125). SCP-XXXX has precisely eight windows, two on each wall of the structure. Each window is covered by a black sheet of an unknown material. Attempting to obtain visual of the interior through the windows is impossible.
Traveling within a 0.5 km radius to SCP-XXXX without a Site-1125 hazmat suit will result in the swelling of eyes, excess mucus in the throat, and scarred lungs. Any personnel found without a hazmat suit in the 0.5 km radius is to be sent to the Site-1125 medical bay immediately even if they show no immediate signs of illness.
An investigation of the interior was conducted by professor D██████ ████. Below is an excerpt from his journal entry:

05/23/08
I entered the run down house and was in absolute shock at what was inside: we found a nest of bat-like creatures, millions of them. When we entered, the creatures all cleared away into the cracks of the wood with amazing ease. Unfortunately, I could not get a decent observation of them. They were all gone before my crew and I could even process what happened. We decided to call it a night and headed back to the medical bay. ███████ said he began to feel ill.

It was later discovered that ███████ had been bitten by one of the bat-like specimen and later expired on 5/█████. Further investigation on ███████'s corpse revealed the flesh around the wound had become rough. Later DNA samples showed molecular similarities with oak wood.
This experience elevated SCP-XXXX's class level from safe to euclid by Class-A authorization.
Further tests were conducted on the interior contents of SCP-XXXX. A creature from the inside was obtained (SCP-XXXX-1). Research showed SCP-XXXX-1 has venom glands in its jaw.
SCP-XXXX-1 was found to be native to the interior of SCP-XXXX.
The use of echolocation revealed a complex underground network of tunnels below SCP-XXXX which are assumed to be continuations of the nest. Any attempt at breaching into said tunnels results in the disappearance of the volunteering Class-D personnel. It is currently unknown where the tunnels end.
