SCP-6121 in Site-██ east yard during routine walk.

Item #: SCP-6121

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6121 is to be held within an 18x15 (270sq) meter room furnished with a large dog bed, dog toys, and a large couch. SCP-6121 must be fed 3 cups of dry dog food, twice daily. Blankets and bedding are to be washed daily by assigned janitorial staff. SCP-6121 is to be provided a minimum of 6 hours of human interaction and walked by a designated handler daily.

Staff with level 1 clearance or higher are permitted to spend time and interact with SCP-6121 within her housing during breaks unless stated otherwise by superiors.

Any staff found treating SCP-6121 poorly or aggressively risk demotion.

Description: SCP-6121 is a female East-European Shepherd mix, exact breeds unknown, standing at 62 cm in height and 34 kg in mass. SCP-6121 exhibits no anomalous properties upon first viewing.

Vitals taken from SCP-6121 show no signs of a beating heart or flowing blood, and other organic signs from other organs are slowed to a crawl. CT scans of SCP-6121 reveal an empty cavity inside the left rib cage. Tissue and other organic matter around the cavity seem unaffected. The cavity seems empty unless brought within detecting ranges of VLF, PL, or other methods of metal detection, which will show the image of an average canine heart. This seems to distress SCP-6121 slightly. SCP-6121 is to be kept clear of metal detectors unless necessary.

Although it's subdued vitals, SCP-6121 still remains warm, and has been described by foundation personnel as "cuddly". SCP-6121 has shown to be extremely friendly, both to humans and other canines. SCP-6121 seems to know basic tricks and will respond to sit, stay, rollover, and heel. Dr. ███ taught SCP-6121 rollover.

For ease, SCP-6121 has been named "Syndey", as no collar or prior identification was present upon arrival. Personnel is encouraged to use the proper item# when not in casual conversation.

Addendum 1: SCP-6121 was found by the Foundation upon receiving a call from local law enforcement after being contacted by ████████ Animal Shelter. Upon arriving, Dr. ████ described meeting a relatively normal dog, and upon questioning, Samantha ██████, a worker for the shelter, described the dog as "living dead". According to workers of the shelter, nothing about the man bringing her in seemed abnormal, except a simple note in the folded lined paper, reading "Organic love for a synthetic heart". All civilians involved were given amnestics after SCP-6121's removal.

Addendum 2: Interview Log 382-█-22

<Log Begin - D-███ on initial testing with SCP-6121.>

<Skip 00h-02m-34s>

D-███: Honestly, she was just like, a normal dog? If I wasn't told, I wouldn't have even noticed she was.. well, a weirdo.

Dr. Huber: Okay.. and how would you describe her temperament? Any anger or aggression? Sadness?

D-███: No, she seemed happy to see someone, I guess. Very licky, a real cuddle bug I suppose.

Dr. Huber: D-███, you were asked to give SCP-6121 an hour of exercise during the test. Our onlookers said it went well, how did it feel? Did she feel responsive, energetic?

D-███: I mean, yea! She was wearing me out by the end of it, really.. wouldn't have guessed anything was wrong with her, like, at all, really. Oh, I uh, wanted to bring this up.. when she was licking me, I felt.. safe? Like, I didn't have to worry. Probably the.. best I've felt in a while. To feel safe again.

Dr. Huber: When she licked you? You felt safe, describe it, please D-███

D-███: It's hard to explain, I guess. I just felt.. safe. Like a mother's hug, or hiding under the covers. Felt like nothing could hurt me then and there, with her beside me. She's a good girl…

Upon further testing, the saliva of SCP-6121 appears to hold slight anti-depressant qualities. Personnel suffering from traumatic thoughts or emotions are encouraged to spend time with SCP-6121 when permitted.

Addendum 3: 0█/██/2020 - Dr. Huber has been put in charge of additional research on SCP-6121. He insists she is referred to as Sydney when not in a professional scene.
