Special Containment Procedures: Item SPC-4XXX is to be kept in a small locked metal box at all times. If personnel MUST enter SCP-4XXX’s container there must be no contact at all with the SCP. Personnel must not look at SCP-4XXX for longer than 10 seconds at a time.
Description: SCP-4XXX is a small 60x42cm sheet of 170gsm Silk FSC paper and depicts an image of a tall black figure with no features standing in a open field with buildings burning in the distance, the moon is abnormally large. The figure is shown holding a large wooden box with a light shining from inside.
When Personnel Stare at SCP-4XXX for any longer than 6-8 seconds it will hypnotise the victim and force them to make contact. SCP-4XXX’s method of doing this is by recreating loved ones telling the victim to make contact, It has been observed that the figure in the image to reach out of the image to force the victim to make contact (see Addendum 4XXX.2)
Once the victim has made contact with SCP-4XXX they will start to see the figure in the corner of their eyes, in images and even appearing in reflections. This will cause the victim physiological damage and these occurrences may drive the victim to depression and other mental illnesses. There is no known cure for these effects. The victim can slow the effects of physiological damage by attending therapy soon after the incident.
After approximately 10 months after the incident there may be physical damage to the body including bruises after sleep, epileptic episodes randomly, heart attack and in extreme cases total organ failure (see Addendum 4XXX.3). Medication can help with preventing these effects to occur.
Addendum 4XXX.1 Discovery
SCP-4XXX was discovered during the investigation of many sudden physiological changes in the town of ███████ in eastern Australia. SCP-4XXX was located in a local pawn shop after being seen reaching out to make an attempt of contact with a civilian. It was placed in its container using metal arms to avoid contact. During the extraction of SCP-4XXX 4 MTF members 1 civilian made contact with SCP-4XXX
Addendum 4XXX.2 Incident
Dr.██████ is seen staring at SCP-4XXX trying to make out what is seen in the picture. During this Dr.████████ tries to intervene as SCP-4XXX is seen reaching out slowly, Dr.██████ falls to the ground in an attempt to escape, SCP-4XXX grabs Dr.██████ by the arm and forces him to make contact with the box depicted in the image, as Dr.██████’s hand get closer, the box is seen getting brighter before losing all brightness after Dr.██████ makes contact.
Addendum 4XXX.3 Post Incident Report
11 months after making contact with SCP-4XXX, Dr.██████ has been waking up from major pain and bruises. Dr.██████’s eyes and skin have turned to a Green/yellow shade. Dr.██████ was observed to be struggling to speak and move. Once in the medical block Dr.████████ immediately orders Dr.████ and Dr.█████ to rush Dr.██████ to the Intensive care unit, slowly one by one Dr.██████’s limbs become numb and he loses all control over them, after 10 minutes of the symptoms first appearing Dr.██████ is dead.
