Special Containment Procedures: Due to SCP-XXXX's nature, it is unable to be contained by the Foundation. As of 9/20/20██, 275 personnel have been deployed around the Northeastern Region of the United States, embedded within the United States Department of Health & Human Services. These personnel are to monitor homes across suburban areas of the Northeastern United States for instances of SCP-XXXX. If any instances of SCP-XXXX are discovered, MTF Beta-7 are to remove such instances and scan the area for any individuals infected with SCP-XXXX-A, who are to be neutralized and incinerated with biological hazard safety measures in place. All surfaces and objects exposed to SCP-XXXX-A are to be thoroughly disinfected.
Description: SCP-XXXX are 16.9 fl oz bottles of Deer Park brand water which generate in suburban homes across the Northeastern region of the United states. No more than 5 bottles of SCP-XXXX generate per month, however, if a person consumes water from an instance of SCP-XXXX, an additional bottle will be generated during the same month.
SCP-XXXX is distinguished from standard bottles of water in that it will always generate with the words "To Mr. Richardson"1 written on the label with felt-tip pen, and the bottle will already be opened and is always full. The water will contain SCP-XXXX-A, a strain of an as of yet unidentified bacterium. SCP-XXXX-A affects exclusively humans and is somewhat contagious, spread through contact with skin, bodily fluids, or indirect transmission. SCP-XXXX-A cannot be spread through respiratory droplets.
Upon consuming the contents of SCP-XXXX, an individual will be immediately infected with SCP-XXXX-A. After around an hour, symtoms will begin to manifest, including diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration, reminiscient of cholera. After two hours, the subject's eyes will start to become bloodshot, the skin will develop a noticeably redder tinge, and [DATA EXPUNGED]. The subject will also start to seek physical contact with other persons, which can help transmit SCP-XXXX-A. After an estimated 12-24 hours, the subject will expire, however, their corpse will still be able to transmit SCP-XXXX-A for another two hours before SCP-XXXX-A expires. SCP-427 has been shown to be able to cure SCP-XXXX-A with a 40% success rate in the early stages of the disease, which has proven somewhat useful for subjects infected with SCP-XXXX-A. However, no other cure exists for SCP-XXXX-A at the moment.
