Special Containment Procedures: SCP-_ is to be kept in a 10 meter by 10 meter Greenhouse and watered with a gallon of water once a day. No personnel with clearance less than Level 3 is permitted to enter the containment.
Description: SCP-_ was discovered in [REDACTED] in 2013 when a group of explorers went into the [REDACTED] Jungle and reported birds flying around that look like plants. SCP-_ appears to be plant, resembling a Bird of Paradise. Upon microscopic inspection, SCP-_ was found to be made of tissues and organ of that of various different animal species.
SCP-_ is naturally at a temperature of 28°C. If SCP-_ is not watered at least a gallon every day, it’s temperature will begin to drop. SCP-_’s temperature will continue to drop at 1°C every half hour until watered or temperature reaches 15°C. Once SCP-_’s temperature reaches 15°C, it’s flowers will begin to grow. Once the flowers grow to approximately one foot in diameter, they will fall off. The fallen flowers are considered SCP-_-2.
When SCP-_-2 falls off, it will begin flying around, resembling a bird. Once all of SCP-_-2 are airborne, SCP-_ will shrivel up and rot. SCP-_-2 will fly around and perch on anything it can, generally acting like a normal bird. If a creature is with a 10 meter range of SCP-_-2, SCP-_-2 will dive onto the creature and burrow into it. Over a course of 24 hours, the host will be to experience severe pain as they slowly turn into another SCP-_.
Addendum: SCP-_ was proposed to be used on SCP-682. One SCP-_ was put into a transportable container, and was left untreated for two days until SCP-_ dead and there were 5 SCP-_-2’s within the container. SCP-682 and the SCP-_-2’s were brought into the same containment, and then observed. One SCP-_-2 implanted itself within SCP-682 immediately upon entry into the containment. There was a loud scream from SCP-682 as it quickly devoured the remaining SCP-_-2’s. SCP-682 continued to thrash about in pain, while slowly converting into another SCP-_, but 3 hours in and the conversion reversed.
