Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX requires no special storage arrangements beyond those imposed by a 12m shipping container. Currently SCP-XXXX is held in secure storage at Site-15. Instances of SCP-XXXX-B are not to be handled without express authorization from Dr. ████.

Only Class-D Personnel are to be used as implantation hosts for instances of SCP-XXXX-B unless under extenuating circumstances.

Should an instance of SCP-XXXX-B require recovery from a host, utmost care is to be taken by the performing surgeon that no damage comes to the instance of SCP-XXXX-B. Class-D host is expendable.

Description:

ship

Cargo ship on which SCP-XXXX was discovered

SCP-XXXX is a shipping container of unknown origin and ownership.

SCP-XXXX has no unique markings and outwardly appears to be an ordinary shipping container (ISO Container Identity markings are missing).

Internally, SCP-XXXX is a mobile medical cabin specifically configured for cranial/neurological implantation procedures. Based on the layout and workstations within, the space is intended to be staffed by at least two (2) individuals. Foundation Researchers have concluded that these staff members are most likely a Medical Technician and Computer Programmer. Whether these individuals were to be part of a larger organization or acting alone is unknown at this time.

Cataloging of shipping container contents revealed:

- Seven-Hundred-and-Sixty-One (761) individual examples of a neurological implant (Henceforth referred to as 'instances of SCP-XXXX-B')
- A medical bed complete with restraints.
- Specialized implantation tools, a robotic surgical assistance device along with general medical supplies.
- A computer system of unknown manufacturer and model. (Henceforth referred to as ' the computer' - Does not require ████████ to access).
- Several ring binder folders of documentation.

Despite a thorough inspection upon acquisition of SCP-XXXX no manufacturers details, logos or discernible products have been found within SCP-XXXX. All contents are either generic untraceable items or manufactured by an unknown source.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-B are pill shaped metal objects about 6mm in length. Each instance of SCP-XXXX-B is numbered in print on the implant itself. The neurological method of their effect is unknown at this time. Instances of SCP-XXXX-B are delicate and can be damaged through improper handling.

Once an instance of SCP-XXXX-B is implanted into the brain of a human subject (Henceforth referred to as 'the host'), and activated, the host loses all awareness (subjectively being rendered unconscious) and will carry out the behavior programmed into the implant. During this time the host is unresponsive to any stimulus unrelated to its programmed task. This includes injury and pain. Once the implant is deactivated, host will regain awareness and have no memory of the time between activation and deactivation.

The documentation contained within SCP-XXXX outlines the implantation procedure and operation of the computer. The computers primary purpose appears to be a programming interface allowing instances of SCP-XXXX-B to be assigned behavior.

Using the programming interface, the instances of SCP-XXXX can be:

Activated or deactivated
Assigned behavior in the form of a set of instructions
Monitored in overview: The status of its current program and vital signs of the host are available

Along with the instances of SCP-XXXX-B in Foundation possession, Two-Hundred-and-Thirty-Nine (239) instances are unaccounted for as of ██/██/████.

Of the missing SCP-XXXX-B instances Thirty-Nine(39) are shown to be active. The location of the hosts for these instances is unknown.

Experiments using missing instances of SCP-XXXX-B require authorization from two(2) members of senior research staff
Experiments using missing instances of SCP-XXXX-B are Forbidden at present time.

Current tests on Class-D personnel have revealed that a wide range of tasks and behaviors can be
programmed including most types of manual labor as well as many other tasks and duties (See Experiment Log 17-B-1 for details).

Acquisition:

SCP-XXXX was discovered during a cargo ship inspection by customs officials at [Redacted] Port on date: ██/██/████. The presence of SCP-XXXX was not reflected in the ships manifest or any records at either the departing port [Redacted], or [Redacted].

Addendum:

To: 05 Council
From: Dr. ████
Subject: Applications of SCP-XXXX

After comprehensive study of the documents discovered with SCP-XXXX we believe it's purpose to be creating a worker who can be free from the monotonous experience of their labor.

However, abuse potential for this technology is immediately apparent. While it is true these implants could be used to liberate manual laborers from the toil of their work, instances of SCP-XXXX-B need never be deactivated: The result of misuse in this manner would render the hosts as perpetual slaves. A permanent state of programmed control.

Testing has revealed that so long as basic sustenance is received, the host suffers no ill effect physically from remaining in the activated state.

Experiments into the effects of sleep deprivation during implant activation are ongoing.
