Item #: SCP-5410
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5410 is to be contained within an airtight, sterile 1m x 1m x 1m chamber. The environment within the chamber should be kept as a near-perfect vacuum.
The sample of SCP-5410 is to be retained at a steady -195 C°. The walls of the chamber should consist of several alternating layers of lead and mineral wool. A single wall should have 30cm in thickness.
In the event of any dysfunctions, all repair work has to be done automatically, without the involvement of any personnel. During repair work a strongly fragrant substance has to be pumped thru the facilities ventilation system. In the case of exposure to SCP-5410's memetic properties the subject has to be put thru intensive amnestics terminated by cremation.
Description: SCP-5410 was found in a mine near the city of ███████, Russia, on ██/██/████.
SCP-5410 appears to be a crystal of an unknown compound. Experiencing any sample of SCP-5410 thru organoleptic means will result in a constant euphoric feeling, as long as the subject is still experiencing SCP-5410. This euphoric state can be compared to psychoactive effects of some drugs, although it is far more potent. The subject, once exposed, will do anything in their ability to further experience SCP-5410, even ignoring physiological needs. If the subject has no means thru which they can be exposed to SCP-5410 they fall into a deep apathetic state. All anomalous effects of SCP-5410 seem to be curable thru amnestics.
Addendum: All further testing of SCP-5410's anomalous effects is to be aborted as soon as possible due to its newly discovered epidemiological properties. The subjects that had any organoleptic exposure to SCP-5410 seem to be affected by these properties, the effects of which result in samples of SCP-5410 growing inside the subject's body. The samples usually end up creating internal damage, which leads to organ failure. Contrary to SCP-5410's psychoactive properties, these parasitic effects cannot be cured with amnestics.
