Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX does not require any special containment procedures other than to be kept away from flammable materials, as to not ignite a fire. Currently, SCP-XXXX is in storage at Site 19 in a standard containment locker. Level-3 clearance is required to retrieve it from storage. During human testing, presence of a agent is required to stop a possibility of SCP-XXXX getting destroyed.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a hexagonal pencil, made of cedar wood painted yellow #FFFF00, with a graphite tip. The eraser is made of synthetic rubber and synthetic soy based gum with a brass ferule securing it to the cedar body.
The anomalous property's of SCP-XXXX are split into two pieces: SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B. SCP-XXXX-A is the graphite tip of the pencil, which when any attempt to write or draw with it is made, fractures off. Through testing, this has been revealed as anomalous because attempting to break off the tip with less than 80 lb's of pressure will cause nothing. As well as this, human test subjects attempting to write with SCP-XXXX get an extreme feeling of frustration, more so than a typical faulty pencil. The longer that test subjects are told to write with it, and fail, the more agitated they become, eventually trying to break SCP-XXXX in half. So far, no test subject has been able to break SCP-XXXX, as an agent subdued them before they could. It is unknown weather SCP-XXXX can be broken, but it has responded normally to stress tests. When SCP-XXXX-A is sharpened, it will apear as though it looses length, but upon removal from the sharpener, it will be the same length as it was going in. Shaving's from SCP-XXXX-A can be collected, but have no anomalous property's, and are the same as normal shavings from a pencil. SCP-XXXX-A can be successfully sharpened, but will still break if any attempt at marking is made with it.
SCP-XXXX-B is the eraser end of the pencil, which when any attempt at erasing graphite markings is made, burns an indecipherable set of symbols into the surface being erased. SCP-XXXX-B can properly erase graphite and similar material's markings, but will without fail leave behind its symbols. Erasing ink, or any other means of marking that an eraser of SCP-XXXX-B's type could not typically erased, cannot be erased and no symbols will be left behind. Attempts at deciphering the markings left by SCP-XXXX-B were made by Dr.█████, but no progress was made. It was determined however, that SCP-XXXX-B is not converting text into another language, but leaving behind something completely different.
Addendum: So far, SCP-XXXX has proven non-sentient, but deciphering the markings of SCP-XXXX-B could challenge that.
SCP-XXXX was recovered from a burned down schoolhouse in (REDACTED), Missouri, by Agent ██████ after he went through SCP-249 during testing and appeared through the still standing door front door of the school house. It is worth noting that the cause of the schoolhouse fire was likely SCP-XXXX, as a student could have made a large mistake and easily ignited his paper trying to erase it due to SCP-XXXX-B's nature of burning its symbols into the surface of what it is erasing.
Dr.█████ hypothesizes that SCP-XXXX is sentient, and chooses to break off its tip when marking with SCP-XXXX-A is attempted in order to prevent another fire, but this is unproven.
