Item #: SCP-5127
Object Class: Safe (Possibly Thaumiel)
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5127 is to be contained in a titanium reinforced weapons rack only accessible to level 5+ personnel, due to the destructive potential of this object. Under no circumstances will personnel or other SCP interact with SCP-5127 without the direct approval of site director Ross MacDonald, any O5 Council member or any selected staff. Any personnel that are directed to make any kind of contact with SCP-5127 must be under total supervision by a designated security officer. When handling SCP-5127, heavy duty, tear resistant gloves are to be worn at all times to minimize the risk of accidental casualties. While currently being held in site [REDACTED], for further testing SCP-5127 will be moved to site [REDACTED] where SCP-682 is also being held. SCP-5127 has been relocated to site [REDACTED] where SCP-682 is also currently being contained. For more information, see Addendum 5127-K3/682. After testing is complete in relation to SCP-682, SCP-5127 will then be relocated to site [REDACTED] where SCP-106 is being held for even further testing and analysis. For more information, see Addendum 5127-K3/106.
SCP-5127 is to never come into contact with any sentient bipedal/humanoid SCP with opposable thumbs that is deemed aggressive, without first restraining the SCP and again being under complete supervision of a designated security officer. Examples of these SCP include but are not limited to; SCP-106, SCP-049 and SCP-035 (When attached to a host).
Description: SCP-5127 is a 15 cm long wooden oar. On the paddle of the oar there are a total of 45 nine 9mm nails, 20 on one side, 25 on the other. Observed on the tips of these nails are varying amounts of dried blood. DNA analysis confirms that each nail has a different type of blood sample from different sources and different ages. Some of these blood samples originate from animals such as pigs, monkeys, humans, etc. It is to be noted that some nails hold blood that does not match any known organism on Earth. It is also noted that although blood sample ages vary to 50+ years old, the oar itself is in near pristine condition, though these are the least notable of SCP-5127's properties.
The first practical test of SCP-5127, performed on subject D-0180, showed that any slight cut or scrape of SCP-5127's nails on any living organism will create an instantly fatal wound that will not clot and will cause the corresponding wound to bleed profusely. Blood will pour from the injury 25-30 times faster than the expected bleeding rate of the cut's size. Depending on the size of the wound the effected subject will die extremely quickly, but will usually die in a matter of seconds. Blood will continue to leak from the injury even while the subject is deceased, until only a husk of the subject's body remains.
Addendum 5127-K2: Transcript of the first practical test of SCP-5127 on human subject D-0180.
Subject: SCP-5127
Supervisor: Dr. █████████████
<Begin Log>
Dr. █████████████: (Speaking on comms) Subject D-0180, please approach SCP-5127.
Personnel D-0180: Alright. (Walks towards the object)
Dr. █████████████: Place your thumb on one of the nails.
Personnel D-0180: (Places left thumb on one of the oar's nails)
Dr. █████████████: Good. Now, press your thumb down on the nail until a cut is made.
Personnel D-0180: What? Why?
Dr. █████████████: Subject D-0180, failure to comply will result in termination.
Personnel D-0180: Ayo calm down, I'm doin it! (Reluctantly cuts his thumb and flinches)
Personnel D-0180: (Pauses) Is this some kinda joke, cause it ain't funn- (Incoherent screaming)
(Liters of blood is observed flooding out of Personnel D-0180's thumb. In approximately 4.23 seconds, D-0180's body drops to the test room floor. A thump is heard accompanied by a loud splash.)
Dr. █████████████: …test-█ complete. (Talking away from microphone) Get a clean up crew in here, and make it quick. We've got more work to do.
