The Use of Anomalous Skin Tissues In Body Armour
The priority of this Research is to assess the effectiveness and feasibility of using skin samples of SCP-682 as armour.
SCP-682 shows incredible regenerative and adaptive abilities when under duress. The process that will be used to gather the tissue will be either
A) SCP-682 (hereafter referred to as 682) Will be heavily sedated to allow for sufficient tissue growth and said tissue will be subsequently removed by 4 D-Class personnel (roughly 80%-90% of 682’s tissue will be removed). If 682 wakes up mid surgery the chamber will be flooded with hydrofluoric acid.
B) 682 Will be temporarily terminated and D-Class personnel will harvest 682’s tissue.
C) 682 will be bribed with a meeting with SCP-079 and its tissue will be harvested.
Tests that will take place.
After each test the armor will be set to rest to view if it retains its regenerative properties.
1) Tissue will be shot at to see if it retains its anomalous properties.
2) A piercing test will take place,
3) A fire resiliency test.
4) An Explosives test.
Process
1) The tissue will be cut in a swift manner using an automated process to obtain sheets of the skin tissue that can be either added as ballistic plating or made into armor
2) If made into armor the suit will be bound together with nano carbon fiber strands to achieve a high tensile strength hopefully eliminating the stitching as a weak point.
Final testing will be putting the armor onto a D-Class and firing at said D-Class (in non vital locations) with varying ammo types to make the final determination of its resiliency.
Post Article Summery
The tissue samples where collect successfully.
Approximately 100 m² of tissue where collected. 20 m² are being sent to site 9 for further testing.
Preliminary testing reveals that the tissue samples retain there durability, although the regenerative ability seems to not be as effective as when connected to 682.
Development of Article-682-1 is still undergoing.
