Treyosama’s Sandbox

Item #: SCP-4183

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4183 can be possessed and used by any personnel D-class and above. All distribution of SCP-4183 is to be logged and all personnel in possession of SCP-4183 are to be closely monitored for 24 hours, the time period in which the subject must ingest all of the prescribed dosage.
Should the subject not be observed ingesting SCP-4183 in the 24 hour period, the subjects living quarters are to be thoroughly searched along with the subject themself. Any remaining SCP-4183 is to be immediately confiscated and discarded.
The maximum dosage for all non-test prescriptions is 20 mg. All dosages above 20 mg must be approved by personnel with level 4 clearance or above.
All tests involving “breakthrough” dosages must be observed by at least two level 3 personnel or higher. All observable effects are to be recorded by video and audio surveillance. The subject, upon returning to a conscious state, is to be interviewed thoroughly. The interview must be recorded by video and audio surveillance. The subject will then be observed for the next 7 days and nights. Any observable effects or abnormalities are to be recorded.

Description: SCP-4183 is a naturally occurring chemical in most plants and animals. SCP-4183 can be consumed as a psychedelic drug and has been observed in history to be consumed in many rituals and sacrifices. The drug is completely harmless at dosages less than 40-50 mg.
However, if 40 mg or more of SCP-4183 is ingested in rapid succession, the subject could potentially lose consciousness and “blast off” as it is referred to by frequent users. The mind is stated to separate from the body and move to a foreign dimension, known as “Hyperspace” or “DMT Land.”
Users have reported experiencing out-of-body experiences, living seemingly whole other lives birth to death, and interacting with sentient beings of indescribable features. As they appear to others, the subject is peacefully unconscious for around ten minutes, after which they awake and began to regain bodily function.
A majority of subjects interviewed reporting not being able to fully recall the entirety of the experience. Some can’t recall anything, whereas others can pinpoint distinct memories and instinctively fill in the voids in their memory with false information.
As of yet, the chemical has shown to have no real side effects or health detriments beyond potential mental instability and lung problems via smoke. All fatalities are resultant of suicide upon returning to consciousness having spent time in the other dimension, mental instability causing extreme aggression and subsequent neutralization, and addictive tendencies leading to isolation and possibly neutralization.
