Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is surrounded by a 3 meters tall fence that is to be pressure sensitized as to alert in the event that an object is to leave. All entrances to the contained area are to be guarded with at least two guards present or on call. When a researcher or some other personnel are to enter then the site manager must be present upon that person exit. In the event of a breach of the perimeter, a mobile task force is to be dispatched based on the size and speed of the breached item.

Description: SCP-XXXX takes the form visually of a small blue crystal floating roughly 1 meter above a star formation etched into the ground. The star formation shows as a roughly 3 meter in diameter 6 pointed star with no other discernible extremities. The surrounding area consists of a seemingly medieval town in varying states of decay.

Notable structures include but are not limited to;
Multiple houses made primarily of brick walls and wooden roofs
Multiple wells placed in the center of open areas located at each point of the star formation
A somewhat decayed church located north of the star formation
Multiple sheds in various states of disrepair located near the east edge of the town

SCP-XXXX Was initially discovered on ██-██-████ and thought to be a simple ghost town when the present explorer entering it. Upon entering, a notable lack of sound was observed within the vicinity which centered on the blue gem in the town square. The first evidence of the lack of an auditory source was made evident in the observation of the church's bell tower falling. Upon further investigation, the area of the star surrounding the gem contains a nearly endless auditory source however the sound does not go beyond the stars boundary. After the auditory analysis was performed the area within the stars boundary was confirmed to have all the sounds that happened within the town are located within the area.

Addendum XXXX-a:

After roughly 2 weeks of observation, one of the roofs of the sheds on the east edge of town was seen to have fallen down. In the ensuing wreckage, some bricks were seen to have moved beyond the recorded “boundary of silence.” Despite exiting the recorded area the bricks made no sound and was immediately retrieved for further testing. When suspected of various actions such as hammering, dropping, and being shot the bricks were observed to be making no sound despite breaking in normal ways. Recorders located in the star were found to have heard each sound of the bricks being broken or otherwise affected.

Addendum XXXX-b:

During a routine adjustment of the sound recorders within the star formation, one of the researchers was put off balance and fell into the blue crystal. Initially, no changes to the blue crystal were observed however upon exiting the boundary of silence the researcher was observed to have been affected. The researcher was found to have been silenced to the point that all actions taken by him or coming from him did not register on any auditory listening device. It was later found that all sources of audio were sent to the area of the star formation.

After roughly 45 hours from exiting the boundary of silence auditory sources were perceived to have returned to the researcher. After further inspection, the effect was viewed to have transferred to various items that the researcher came into contact with. Said items have been contained and are being held in a standard issue safety container for further testing. After further observation, the effect was seen to have moved from the previously stated objects to the boxes around them. After further deliberation, all affected items have been moved into the boundary of silence and are to be monitored henceforth.

Addendum XXXX-c:

On ██-██-████ the sounds of a young girl and boy having a conversation were recorded within the star formation. Upon learning this fact a mobile team was dispatched into the city however no breaches were discovered and no evidence of said people was found. After language analysis, it was discovered that the conversation was held in Old English with various unknown words within the conversation. After further investigation the conversation was discovered to have been centered around the topic of the blue gem and as such has been classified.

The tapes of the conversations were taken off-site and are now labeled as SCP-XXXX-2. The young boy and girl recorded on the tapes are to be labeled as SCP-XXXX-2-1 and SCP-XXXX-2-2 respectively.
