SCP-4086 being held by Dr. ████. Screen is censored for security purposes.

Item: SCP-4086

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures:

Specific details of the containment procedures are only available to those with Level 5 access so as to prevent SCP-4086 from misuse.

SCP-4086 seems to be incapable of movement; however, due to its nature of deletion, it should be under constant monitorization for anomolous behavior by at least two (2) personnel with clearance to view.

Containment location is Level 5 and will not be disclosed to any non-O5 personnel. Any non-ranking human discovering its location will be promptly terminated, as SCP-4086 will be monitored constantly by some form of security camera all connected to separate power sources to ensure constant viewing. Specific details about its containment may not be disclosed in case of security breach.

SCP-4086 is to be constantly fed with information pertaining to space debris anywhere around ██████ █ and minuscule atoms of ██████-██ so as to minimize the possibility it will delete anything or anyone of importance. Class A personnel are given sample words to constantly feed SCP-4086 through keyboard. SCP-4086 has so far deleted four objects while in containment: two chunks of ██████ floating through space in any distance between fourteen miles and four thousand mega-parsecs from Earth, one atom of ██████-██ found within a chunk of ████ buried deep underground, and Dr. █████.

Although the object itself is quite simple to contain, it is given Keter class due to the unpredictability of its effects. It is possible at any moment it could delete itself, its containment, or even the universe. Intermittent experiments to completely destroy 4086 have been conducted by various researchers, but seem to be far more dangerous than they're worth (see both Testing Logs and the Addendum.)

Description: SCP-4086 is a self-perpetuating computer, seemingly in the earlier stage of home computer development, constantly outputting various names of things, places, people, or ideas. Along with each name outputted is a simple binary value, either 1 or 0. It seems to have a near-100 percent chance of producing a 1, with most names receiving this value. However, in the few rare events that it produces a 0, these items are immediately deleted from existence with no trace. Before containment procedures began, the objects deleted were a ███ brand pen, an office chair, and Dr. ███████.

SCP-4086 has a clear train of thought: any object it thinks of is related to the object prior and its surroundings. It is unknown what the first object was, and attempts to view previous objects have resulted in a sudden change in train of thought to the user (see Testing Log 4086-A.) As such, certain Class D personnel may be used for scrolling upwards for research purposes, although it is possible its train of thought may move toward bigger things if its thought is not changed. SCP-4086 can, however, be manipulated by inputting text into its attached keyboard.

SCP-4086 needs no known power source1 and any attempt to destroy it has been futile (see Testing Log 4086-B.) SCP-4086 is fully off-white with a keyboard attached featuring black keys. It has one simple logo on the side, with blue text enclosed in a black circle reading [DATA EXPUNGED].

Objects deleted by SCP-4086 may simply be transported somewhere else. Tests have been suggested to force Class D personnel equipped with radio transmitters into the text input so as to see what is transmitted, however these tests have almost no chance of being done.

Further tests with keyboards considered similar to SCP-4086's have led researchers to draw similarities to █████ brand keyboards, meaning they may have had some assistance in the creation of SCP-4086. Questioning of any leading personnel at █████ has so far been promptly denied.

It is unknown exactly what material SCP-4086 is made of. It does possess somewhat recognizable atoms, however they seem to have no response to extreme pressure or heat. The material seems to be most similar to [DATA EXPUNGED], an alloyed material very difficult to produce being considered for containment of more dangerous SCPs.

Plans are being considered to cause SCP-4086 to delete itself, however these tests would have a low success rate and could potentially lead to the deletion of the Foundation (and all related members,) the Earth, or even the universe, seeing as SCP-4086 is contained in Site [REDACTED], which is under Foundation control.

In an absolute emergency in which SCP-4086 gains a much higher concentration of terms relating to humanity and life, SCP-2000 may be activated upon 1/2 majority of O5 personnel.

Testing Log 4086-A - 12/18/████

Information: O5-██ authorizes a test to find the initial object all proceeding objects stem from.

Procedure: Class D personnel is to scroll up through SCP-4086's history until it reaches the beginning. After test is complete, Class D personnel's memory is to be wiped of the events and the location of SCP-4086.

Results: SCP-4086's lack of mouse meant D-████ was forced to scroll using only the arrow keys, an incredibly slow process. About fifteen seconds into testing, SCP-4086 began outputting D-████'s full name along with the digit [DATA EXPUNGED] attached at record speeds. (It is assumed this digit is some sort of identifier.) Testing immediately stopped and D-████ was terminated to slow SCP-4086 to a normal rate.

Testing Log 4086-B - 09/22/████

Upon order from O5-██ to destroy SCP-4086 at all costs, Dr. █████ elects for SCP-4086 to be forced through 1050 gigapascals of pressure. Its form did not change in the slightest, however its train of thought quickly reflected that of pressure chambers and eventually pressure as a whole. Atomic inspection revealed that even the atoms making it up had not budged.

Further tests with ITER plasma chambers ranging from 150 to 300 million degrees Celsius surprisingly had some effect on the machine, with a small dent that formed near the top right corner closer to the back. However, during testing, the machine ran risks of deleting heat entirely, with 99% of words outputted being "heat" and the other 1% being Dr. █████.

Dr. █████ suddenly vanished while the test was undergoing, despite not expressing anything of note before his deletion. There is still no evidence of his existence as of ██/██/████.

Notes: Although destroying SCP-4086 with incredibly high amounts of heat sounds great on paper, if the ITER chamber doesn't produce enough heat then we're far off from anything being able to. The thing produces 10 times as much heat as the Sun, for Christ's sake. - Dr. ████

This might mean that this thing is more intelligent than we give it credit for. It's possible it may have known we were attempting to destroy it and used its surroundings to attempt to destroy us. As such, it may no longer be safe to attempt extermination tests and simply continue to contain it. - Guest Researcher Dr. ███

Who the hell made this testing log without a format? And did you really expect the indestructible material to break from high pressure or heat? It's an absolute miracle the thing even took impact from the heat tests! Leaving it unsupervised was exactly what led to the death of Dr. █████, and could've completely destroyed the fabric of the universe. He's lucky that thing killed him, or else I probably would've. - O5-██
