SCPxxxx
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
SCPxxxx-1 should be stored in a 20x20x20 meter lead lined containment unit. No lights should be in the room, and surveillance should not last more than 30 seconds, due to the memetic info-hazardous nature of SCPxxxx-1. If viewed for more than 30 seconds outside of testing, the entire surrounding area should be locked down and treated as a containment breach. If SCPxxxx-2 manifests, evacuation of the surrounding area is mandatory.
Description:
SCPxxxx-1 is a memetic cognitohazard. SCPxxxx-1 should not be looked at, unless stated otherwise by O5 personnel. SCPxxxx-1 is an eye shaped large piece of cognitohazardous anart that was found on a chunk of the now demolished Berlin Wall. Not much is known of the origin of the infohazard itself, or the symbol that seemingly contains the anomalous properties, as it has only been tested once (See addendum A). The symbol is shaped like an oversimplified human eye. On inspection, it looks as if it were spray-painted on, like SCP-173. However, it is actually made out of [REDACTED]. This seemingly impossible compound mixture of water, [REDACTED], [REDACTED] and carbon 12 has been unable to be re-created in any lab studies. SCPxxxx-1 is seemingly indestructible, as all attempts to destroy it are futile. No known compound (anomalous or otherwise) is capable of destroying it, despite it being made out of the exact same material as the rest of the Berlin Wall. Any material that has the pattern that is seen on SCPxxxx-1 will also gain this property, but for only a few hours. When in darkness, SCPxxxx-1 is safe to observe. When exposed to light, SCPxxxx-1 will create a sort of reality shift for anyone within a 15 meter radius. Objects will seemingly float and bend in non-euclidian ways, impossible for this universe otherwise. People outside the range of this will not see the infohazardous illusion. However, if looked at for over 30 seconds(no matter the range), SCPxxxx-1’s infohazardous properties will enter into the victim’s mind. Symptoms of looking at SCPxxxx-1 for prolonged periods of time include the following (listed from least severe to most severe): headache, nausea, vomiting, nosebleeds, temporary tinnitus, thirst, fear, paranoia, permanent tinnitus, the urge to rip out their own eyes, the urge to rip out their own ears, [REDACTED], and finally, cardiac arrest. (These effects do not occur to those looking at SCPxxxx-1 over a video feed or photograph.) If the victim of looking at SCPxxxx-1 is not dead before a 3 hour period, SCPxxxx-2 will manifest. SCPxxxx-2 is a crystalline entity made out of the same compound as the pattern on SCP-1, and looks like a humanoid type creature. SCPxxxx-2 has no facial features, and has two large spikes placed where its shoulders should be. Each of these spikes has 6 patterns on it, each one the exact same as the symbol on SCPxxxx-1.SCPxxxx-2 seems to be unkillable, and also a physical manifestation of the cognitohazardous information inside of SCPxxxx-1. SCPxxxx-2 will appear behind the victim, and start to hold it in place with two large appendages that act as arms. SCPxxxx-2 will then use the jagged edges of its arms to slice a small cut into the back of the victim’s neck. The victim is killed immediately. Before 4/4/20[REDACTED], the cause of death was unknown, and presumed to be part of the memetic cognitohazard. Upon further investigations, SCPxxxx-2 seems to inject a biological neurotoxic agent into the victim’s bloodstream, via the cut in the neck. This biological agent is still being researched, and so far matches no known species, nonetheless life, on this planet. SCPxxxx-1 and SCPxxxx-2 are not confirmed to be of extraterrestrial origin.
Experiment Log
The following is the transcript of the D-class personnel that were assigned to focus on it.
D-99976: So I just look at this thing?
[Redacted]: Yes. For 3 minutes.
D-99976: O-ok.
[Redacted]: Begin test. Report what you see and feel.
D-class walks into the radius of the cognitohazard.
D-99976: Okay so, what is-[text corrupted]?
[Redacted]:Remain calm. What do you see?
D-99976: The walls…the eyes…
3 minutes pass.
[Redacted]: D-99976, are you with us?
D-99976: Y-yeah, my nose is bleeding like crazy and I feel like the eyes are inside my head. It hurts and my stomach is churning…
[Redacted]: You may step away from the perimeter of the object, but continue to look at it.
D-99976: I-I can’t turn away. It forces me to-
[Redacted]: Stay calm, and walk backwards.
D-class does so.
[FILE CORRUPTED, SKIPPING AHEAD.]
D-99976: A-augh….
[Redacted]: What’s wrong? Explain.
D-99976: It hurts too much. I can't. I can't [REDACTED] take it!
[Redacted]: Apply class C amnestics to D-99976, and turn off the lights.
D-99976: What the [REDACTED] ar-
Class D is wiped of all memory of SCP-xxxx-1.
-END OF LOG-
NOTE: Security footage reveals that in the hallway where D-99976 was walking down while being taken to examine SCP-999, after the severe psychological aftereffects that were unable to be removed with class C amnestics, SCPxxxx-2 manifested in front of the D-Class, as well as 2 level four personnel. The two level 4 personnel opened fire on SCPxxxx-2, but were unable to stop it from attacking D-99976 using it’s biological agent.
Further tests on SCPxxxx-1 are to be continued indefinitely halted until further notice.1
