Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is currently contained in a reinforced cylindrical chamber 50m in diameter. Motion sensors are placed along the outer perimeter of this chamber and all instances of SCP-XXXX-A are to be contained upon detection. SCP-XXXX is to be observed at all times via surveillance cameras and protected by four armed personnel.
Following an Overseer Directive, research and utilization of SCP-XXXX has been suspended indefinitely.
During active research, SCP-XXXX is to additionally be observed by at least two Level 3 personnel in an elevated chamber with a direct line of sight towards SCP-XXXX. All instances of SCP-XXXX-B emerging from SCP-XXXX during testing are to be immediately described by one of the aforementioned Level 3 personnel from a pre-generated list then promptly escorted to the Individual Containment Wing by one armed personnel. Contained instances of SCP-XXXX-B may be exported to and distributed by Site-45 as D-Class personnel.
Should research be impeded, interrupted, or needed to be properly ceased after SCP-XXXX-A has entered SCP-XXXX, the Akutagawa Protocol is to be carried out immediately by order of the Site Director.
The Akutagawa Protocol requires the following tasks to be completed in the outlined order within a span of two hours:
- Site-Wide File Backups and Data Synchronization to Protected Site-01
- Installation and Activation of SCP-XXXX Sentry Turret
- Termination of all instances of SCP-XXXX-B
- Evacuation of all personnel from Shakyamuni Island1
- Remote Incendiary Self-Destruct of the SCP-XXXX Sentry Turret
Essential personnel are returned to Shakyamuni Island, at most, three hours after remote detonation.
Description: SCP-XXXX is located in Shakyamuni Island, 65km off the northwestern coast of Antarctica. Lake Shakyamuni is a clear lake roughly 45m in diameter and 15m deep located at the center of the island. The lake is deprived of any aquatic life and vegetation apart from one instance of Nelumbo nucifera (a lotus flower). SCP-XXXX is a circular hole 1m in diameter located where Lake Shakyamuni is at its deepest. External probing methods suggests that SCP-XXXX has a depth of at least 17,000m.
An instance of SCP-XXXX-A resembles a particular2 adult Jorō spider (Nephila clavata). Every 108 hours, an instance of SCP-XXXX-A emerges from the ground in the vicinity of the lake and proceeds towards it. Upon arrival to the edge of the lake, the water begins to drain into SCP-XXXX in a process lasting around 39 minutes. When the lake has emptied, SCP-XXXX-A will proceed to create a web from the edge of SCP-XXXX and descend into it. Exactly 8 days following its entrance into the pit, instances of SCP-XXXX-B will, one after another, continuously exit from SCP-XXXX-B utilizing the web3. In a period of 24 hours, 700 to 2,800 instances of SCP-XXXX-B will have emerged from SCP-XXXX.
Unless directly observed emerging from SCP-XXXX, instances of SCP-XXXX-B are commonly characterized as being faceless, humanoid creatures with an average height and build comparable to humans, and composed of an unknown crimson material similar in texture, density, and malleability to human flesh. If directly observed emerging from SCP-XXXX, an instance of SCP-XXXX-B will change its appearance and personality to match the first enunciated description of it by witnesses as closely as possible.4 The described instance will then remain in its assumed form indefinitely.
Undescribed instances of SCP-XXXX-B are docile creatures. They have been observed to be passive, partaking in quiet activities such as sitting, kneeling, bowing, and prostrating. When violently provoked, however, SCP-XXXX-B will emit a sound, similar to a human scream, measuring at 109.4dB5 and sustain this sound indefinitely until terminated. A described SCP-XXXX-B when provoked, on the other hand, will react in accordance to its given personality.
Addendum XXXX-01: Attempts to artificially begin a descent cycle by importing Jorō spiders and releasing them in the vicinity of SCP-XXXX yielded no results regardless of the presence of an instance of SCP-XXXX-A. A complete genetic mapping of multiple instances of SCP-XXXX-A revealed a 100% match across all instances. In light of this, Jorō spiders cloned from an instance of SCP-XXXX-A were released near SCP-XXXX in a secondary attempt which resulted in failure.
Addendum XXXX-02: On 6 June 1996, SCP-XXXX-A's web was successfully ignited and eliminated during its descent by Senior Researcher Takashi Akutagawa. Shortly after ignition, a sustained 179dB screech6 began to emanate from SCP-XXXX. The sound subsided 139 minutes later and the lake was refilled shortly after. All surviving personnel suffered from permanent hearing loss and were relieved of duty soon afterwards.7
Addendum XXXX-03: A preliminary survey conducted on the island yielded the discovery of a boulder located 192m northwest from SCP-XXXX with the following inscription carved onto it (translated from Sanskrit; the boulder and the inscription itself exhibited no anomalous properties.):
Even a little creature such as this has life. To kill it without cause would be a great pity. With it, may you be reborn - free from hatred, free from spite.
Addendum XXXX-04:
XXXX/2017-11-19 Incident Abstract
The Akutagawa Protocol executed on 19 November 2017 resulted in 1,292 terminated instances of SCP-XXXX-B and the successful evacuation of all personnel. Three of the four utilized CH-47 helicopters immediately returned to the island while the fourth continued to nearby Site-45 for personnel rotation.
A routine evaluation on the execution of the Akutagawa Protocol uncovered surveillance footage depicting a number of armed personnel eliminating Foundation staff, disguising 13 described instances of SCP-XXXX-B as fellow armed personnel, and subsequently disposing of the Foundation agents together with eliminated instances of SCP-XXXX-B. The renegades and their hostages then boarded the Site-45-bound CH-47.
All Foundation Sites within range of the aircraft was immediately made aware of the situation. Hours later, the aircraft was within range of Site-45. No communication could be established and scans indicated that no one was on board the aircraft at the time. A preliminary investigation revealed the impostor personnel to have ties with the Chaos Insurgency.
The 13 escaped instances of SCP-XXXX-B were assigned the following physical descriptions and psychological profiles:
[REDACTED BY OVERSEER DIRECTIVE]
Addendum XXXX-05:
On 20 November 2017, The Overseer Council unanimously moved to indefinitely suspend research on SCP-XXXX-B and form Joint Task Force Theta-8 "Manifest Sui Generis," utilizing resources from MTF Alpha-1 "Red Right Hand", MTF Beta-1 "Cauterizers", and MTF Sigma-66 "Sixteen Tons" to investigate, track down, and apprehend the insurgents and the 13 escaped instances of SCP-XXXX-B.

Item #: SCP-2510
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-2510 is to be kept off-limits from the general public. Security stations placed around the island as well as on the island itself maintain constant surveillance of the surroundings. Should any vessel come within 5 km of SCP-2510, they are to be notified immediately to change course, the vessel intercepted, and its crew members detained for questioning and issuance of class-A amnestics prior to release.
Every 24 hours, twenty (20) security guards are to perform a full sweep of the island for any sign of SCP-2510-B. Any sighting of SCP-2510-B must be reported to the Site Director. There shall always exist a list of all instances of a dormant-stage SCP-2510-B which may be later activated for research purposes.
Should research on an active-state SCP-2510-B or SCP-2510-C be conducted, Site-115 and the entirety of SCP-2510 will be evacuated and moved to Satellite Office Psi-6. Mobile Task Force Omicron-3 will be dispatched to SCP-2510 to activate SCP-2510-B, accomplish the research objectives, and subsequently neutralize SCP-2510-C. On absolutely no circumstance should SCP-2510-C's ultimatum be accepted.
Upon neutralization, all evacuated personnel will return to Site-115 and all members of the MTF Omicron-3 will be re-assigned and replaced. All replacements are immediately debriefed of SCP-2510 and all relevant objects and phenomena and will remain in Site-19 unless otherwise summoned in the event of a confirmed sighting of SCP-2510-B. The replacements are preferably newer Foundation agents, must have passed an extensive psychological evaluation, and have never been within the general vicinity of SCP-2510.
Description: SCP-2510 is the entirety of ███████ Island, located roughly 100km west of ██████, ██████. SCP-2510 was formerly a tourist destination boasting a nature reserve for the White-Tailed Towhee bird, former radio communications facility ████ ██████, and the memorial ground for the crew of the sunken submarine, the USS ███████. Prior to Foundation procurement of SCP-2510 in 20██, most of the island was owned by its lone resident, ████████ █████, a former WWII radio communications officer. It is now the location of Site-115.
SCP-2510 first came to the Foundation's attention in 197█ following reports of minors discovering multiple radio anomalies scattered across the island. A small research team was dispatched to conduct an initial investigation on these anomalies, dubbed SCP-2510-A, as well as a survey of the island for other anomalous phenomena. The investigation uncovered and cataloged twelve instances of SCP-2510-A, each designated as SCP-2510-A-1 through 12).
Each radio anomaly was observed by use of a regular FM analog radio at specific areas on the island roughly 3 meters in diameter. Using the radio to tune into certain frequencies causes the radio to emit a bright red hue regardless of the radio's ability to emit light. During this emmission, the radio will receive the anomalous transmissions. All anomalies featured some form of human speech to which some can be attributed to repetitions of past local news recordings or radio transmissions (see Addendum 2510-1).
A relevant investigation performed by the FBI with regards to the radio anomalies also took place during the initial Foundation surveying of the island. Following the conclusions drawn from their investigations, the FBI seized temporary control of the island to perform full sweep for further anomalous activity, resulting only of their discovery of nine of the twelve known instances of SCP-2510-A.
Following the unsuccessful sweep, the FBI vacated the island and returned control to local resident ████████ █████. Although reports of the radio anomalies persist, there have been no reports of missing persons nor injuries.
MEMORANDUM
To: All ███████ Island Research Personnel
From: Doctor ██████ █████, Head of Containment, Site ██At this point, not even the FBI cares about this place. It's just an island that has spooky radio transmissions from stations that don't exist if you tune in to the right frequency at the right place. There are more pressing matters at hand than this tourist trap. We'll leave it be and as far as we're concerned, ███████ Island is just another Unexplained Location. I'll even add it to the damn list.
End of Pre-SCP Designation
On █████ ██, 20██, The Foundation immediately seized total control of the island and the emergence of SCP-2510-B, SCP-2510-C, and SCP-2510-D following Incident 2510-20██-1.
SCP-2510-B is an inter-dimensional rift in space-time that follows three stages of activation following its dormant stage. A dormant rift is usually characterized by an abnormally red hue being emitted by any light-emitting electrical device. When activated, SCP-2510-B acts as a portal to an alternate dimension. Multiple instances of SCP-2510-B may exist on the island at the same time. However, all instances of SCP-2510-B lead to the same relative location in the alternate dimension.
Similar to tuning into SCP-2510-A, the first stage of the rift's activation requires the use of an analog FM radio receiver and transmitter tuned to a certain frequency causing the tuned radio to emit a red hue and a two-dimensional triangle to form roughly 8 to 15 meters away. When the triangle has finished forming, the red hue will disappear and will allow the radio to continue to the second stage of activation.
The second activation stage is attained by tuning the radio to another certain frequency, causing the radio to emit a red hue. A line will then form one of the triangle's vertices extending outwards on the same apparent plane until stopping to form a vertex of another similarly-sized triangle. Upon completion of this second triangle, the radio's red hue will disappear and will allow the radio to continue to the final stage of activation.
The final activation stage is attained similar to the two aforementioned stages. Upon attaining the final stage, two lines will extend from the joined vertices of the aforementioned triangles along the same plane in acute angles apparently moving towards one another. The intersection of these two lines will then from a vertex of a third small triangle. Upon completion of the third triangle, the larger triangle formed by the joined vertices will convert the occupied two-dimensional area into a portal to an alternate dimension known as "The Void."
End of Clearance Level 3 Requirement
SCP-2510-C is an extra-dimensional entity that refers to itself as "The Sunken" that resides outside of our local dimension and becomes active when one fully activates SCP-2510-B. SCP-2510-C itself has no physical form. In its corporeal form, the entity utilizes the FM radio to communicate by repurposing word excerpts used in past military, civilian, and commercial radio transmissions. The entity has the ability to possess any human on SCP-2510 and use the host body to communicate.
Multiple expeditions were carried out by MTF Omicron-3 on the island to determine the full motivations and abilities of the entity. The Sunken, despite being a singular entity, refers to itself as plural. Further interactions with SCP-2510-C reveal that the entity is a shared consciousness by the 85 crew members and 12 passengers who perished on the USS ███████. It's motivations have been determined to seek out revenge on the outside world that had forgetten their existence.
Upon activation, it is slowly made apparent that the entity's primary objective is to absorb an inhabitant of the island by use of emotional manipulation or persuasion of the other island inhabitants. To achieve this, SCP-2510-C will employ numerous methods using combinations of its abilities to manipulate the island's inhabitants into sacrificing one of their own to the entity in exchange for freedom from the island most notably by fixating on and issuing an ultimatum to the most emotionally vulnerable of the group. It is unknown if the entity can forcibly take a human. Multiple proposals to test this possibility have been rejected by the Foundation Ethics Committee.
Despite the powerful manipulative capabilities of SCP-2510-C (see Addendum 2510-2), the Sunken may be neutralized by entering an instance of SCP-2510-B and following a similar procedure to activating SCP-2510-B from inside the alternate dimension. The entity, however, will physically stop those who attempt to enter a portal prematurely. When the entity has reason to believe that its ultimatum would be accepted, it will allow entry into the Void.
Following the deactivation procedures of SCP-2510-B will cause all instances of the portal on both sides to collapse, trapping SCP-2510-C in the Void, and cause humans on both dimensions to lose consciousness. Those unconscious following the deactivation will awaken roughly 4 to 6 hours later on the island within close range of one another.
Following a neutralization of the entity, MTF Omicron-3 underwent routine interrogations for the Research Team at Site-115. Despite being made explicitly aware of the protocol, Lieutenant Arthur Crame succumbed to the manipulation of SCP-2510-C and sacrificed Lieutenant Victor Trest. This caused uproar to grow among the MTF operatives upon their awakening and resulted in [REDACTED]. All interrogated members of MTF Omicron-3 expressed extreme disagreement to Crame's decision and believed that, should they have been allowed the decision, would have kept Trest alive. All members of MTF Omicron-3 were then issued Class-C amnestics and reassigned to various active Sites.
Accepting the Sunken's ultimatum will cause all instances of the portal on both sides to collapse, trapping SCP-2510-C in the Void, and cause humans on both dimensions to lose consciousness. Those unconscious except for the sacrificed following the deactivation will awaken roughly 4 to 6 hours later on the island within close range of one another.
An extensive covert internal investigation found no record of a Victor Trest to have ever worked with the Foundation. Despite the lack of physical evidence, due to the self-consistency among the accounts of the Mobile Task Force regarding the events that transpired on SCP-2510 as well as previous shared experiences with Lieutenant Trest, it was determined that SCP-2510-C possesses the ability to alter reality and "delete" a sacrificed human.
End of Clearance Level 4 Requirement
Following the initial Foundation procurement of the island from the █████ family, a thorough sweep of the island led to the first discovery of a first-stage activation rift hidden within the local cave system as well as twelve (12) letters hidden about the island (see Addendum 2510-3). It was quickly determined that the letters were from the late ████████ █████ chronicling the origins of SCP-2510, the rift, and the entity.
SCP-2510-D is a Level 1 humanoid, location-bound, corporeal, non-violent apparition. SCP-2510-D manifests as a teenage female with tan/brown skin, reddish brown eyes, and teal-dyed hair that is tied up into a high pony tail. It is modestly dressed, a simple white 3/4-length shirt with a blue collar and sleeves, light wash skinny jeans, work boots, and an over-sized red hunting jacket. SCP-2510-D was later identified to be Alexandra "Alex" ███████, the epicenter of Incident 2510-20██-1 (see Incident Report 2510-20██-1).
Following an detectably anomalous event, a group of field agents were immediately dispatched to re-assess ███████ Island to investigate the cause of the detected anomalous activity with respect to the established anomalies discovered in the initial assessment of the island decades prior in addition to initial information and object containment. The investigation led to the discovery of a two-dimensional triangle suspended roughly 20 meters in the air located in a particularly open area within the island's local cave system, later dubbed SCP-2510-A.
Four teenagers in the nearby town of ██████, ██████ were identified of having been present on the island during the event for a "traditional night of debauchery" and were brought in for questioning. Of the four, three of the testimonies were reasonably consistent with one another. The fourth, however, detailed a different set of circumstances prior to the anomalous events occurring; the largest deviation of which involved the presence of an Alexandra "Alex" ███████ on the island.
The contradicting testimony was self-consistent and the subject managed to recall further past experiences with Alex. The other three subjects managed to recall these experiences, both during and before Incident 2510-20██-1 with no mention of Alex's presence. Relevant parties such as the supposed family, teachers, and peers of Alexandra were questioned; all of which claimed to have no knowledge of Alexandra.
Class A amnestics were administered following all questionings.
End of Clearance Level 4 Requirement
SCP-2510-D unknowingly made itself apparent to Foundation personnel during the original establishment of Site-115 on the island. The apparition is intangible and has been observed to be unaware of its apparent surroundings nor changes made to it. It generally manifests roughly 2 meters away fom any functional radio transmitter or receiver.
Near stationary radio equipment, almost all sightings of the apparition last no longer than a few seconds and in all of these sightings, the apparition was reported to be walking in and out-of-range of the equipment. Multiple minor operations were conducted to follow the apparition to observe its behavior. Following these missions, the apparition has been reported to be frequently walking, sitting, lying down on the ground, singing, humming, or stretching (among other idle human behaviors). Sounds produced by the apparition have been noted to be transmitted through the nearby radio equipment regardless of power supply. All attempts to establish communication with SCP-2510-D have met with failure.
When an instance of SCP-2510-B is activated, the apparition follows a strict 10-hour loop taking place from 8PM to 6AM local time. It is during this loop that SCP-2510-D is the most active. The apparition remains intangible and unaware of its surroundings. Multiple expeditions were conducted to fully chronicle the loop. It was immediately apparent to the researchers upon review that the apparition projected the events that occured directly prior to the Foundation's procurement of SCP-2510 (see Incident Report 2510-20██-1) and quickly led to the identification of SCP-2510-D.

████ Letter Archive
Discovered buried in various locations on the island, these letters were written by ████████ █████ prior to her death in 20██.
There's a similar statue of a soldier in █████, where I grew up. My memory of it is I think part of the reason why I said yes when the army recruited me out of college, despite my family's protestations. ████, my closest friend from childhood, was of course thrilled at the possibility of my escape. I anonymously started the petition in 1975 to have this one made, after the daughter of ███████ crewman ███████ ██████ asked. I don't know why… a marker, maybe, for the hope I once had to help people.
Note: Attached was a drawing of "The Sentry," a local statue of a soldier kneeling down, looking through a watchglass overlooking the ocean.
Recruits learned communications technology here, and several others learned code breaking, it's true… but due to my aptitude in math and mechanical engineering, I was assigned code *making*, specifically cyphers with which to conceal projects from even other government agencies. It was a job I grew increasingly uncomfortable with, but my keen interest in radio science had me pulling double duty as a comms officer. I remember one of the ███████'s engineers, ███████ calling me a "radio-woman." As far as he knew, it was my only job.
I was on watch duty in the tower when it happened, having just gotten back from an early leave for the reading of my father's will. For years, I childishly blamed him for *this*, too… his one last act against me… but it was nobody's fault, or decision, but my own. I'm sure it was ███████ ██████ who sent the ███████'s distress signal. It had been [REDACTED] - I still don't know why - and I hastily interpreted the garbled transmission as an attempt to jam radar. And so I sent back [REDACTED].
[REDACTED] Relatively few even knew of its existence, which tripled the bases's confusion when [REDACTED] No one outside of a handful of us would ever know the truth. I would discover later that a weapons technician of the ██████ ███ had been at ███████ ██████'s wedding; ██████ was an engineer on the ███████. I don't know why, but it's strange to me.
The first transmissions from the lost soldiers were recorded here by a signal officer training new recruits. I heard about it soon after. Yes, word of the childlike, almost playful messages spread quickly, but the broadcasts were usually dismissed as an ongoing prank, faulty equipment, or AM stations bouncing off the midland. However, after I successfully decoded one as a mayday from ██████ ███████, an electrician who perished on the USS ███████, I knew it had to be something more.
████████ █████, forever engraved on the Command Annex's memorial plaque, was a kind, humble woman who helped me decode the ghost's unusual messages. I don't think she ever really believed my hypothesis that they were relays from the sunken submarine, even though she corresponded with - as she put it - a man named ██████, an electrician who died on the ███████. I pieced together the truth, the cover up, and my own tragic mistake that killed him and his mates over months of careful deciphering.
When people in the Comms Dept. begin transferring off, I was able to convince my higher ups - including, coincidentally, one eventual Army passenger onboard the ███████, █████ ███████ - to bring ████ onboard as a replacement. ████ had been working in broadcasting, so it made enough sense to the upper ranks. Incidentally, when I dream, it is usually during this time period, amidst the change… and I am trying to prevent ████ from ever coming.
My belief - bolstered by ████'s and my research conducted largely at ███ ███████ ███████ where interruptions were rare - is that the men and women of the USS ███████ were separated from our dimensional existence by the implosion of the submarine's [REDACTED]. I identified one passenger, █████, by his call-sign, and his confused diction and reliance on game logic says to me that their emotional states (if not mental states) had been reduced to that of children… a thought I cling to when I envision ████'s demise.
████ and I frequently conducted tests at what was once the East Barracks here during the brutal winter of '51. Waves, of any kind - radio, nuclear, electromagnetic - seemed able to pass through all existences under certain circumstances, which explained our ability to get communiques sent from them. This might also justify the frequency of hearing one of the ███████'s electrician's call signs, ██████ ███████, come echoing through the relays. On April 4th, 195█, we would attempt to reverse the manifest breakdown… and bring the soldiers back.
After stealing equipment from this Relay Station, ████ and I entered the cave just before dawn to try and communicate directly with the crew of the USS ███████. We successfully tuned in to the source of the temporal "tear," and spoke, albeit briefly, to █████ ███████, an SOC Sergeant who died on the sub, but the power overwhelmed my dear ████, and she was absorbed into its ridge; all that remains there now is the flickering hue of a partially open gate, a window to a perpendicular space that seems to have "augmented" the subarine's call. But, of all my regrets, perhaps the deepest is knowing ████'s last vision was of me fleeing from her in terror.
After the fort closed, I used the considerable resources from my father's endowment to buy up most of the land, or influence government officials to declare that which I could not buy protected. I have not been entirely successful, and have watched in horror as a small tourist industry has precariously sprung upon this cursed island. Even the family of one of the sailors who died, ██████ ███████, set up a restaurant to cater to inquisitive out-of-towners. I can promise this, though: the museum will never happen, and the beach and caves will be boarded up.
To whoever is finding these notes, understand my hope is that by enshrouding this intelligence in such an obtuse manner, its detection will discourage most innocent seekers… thereby allowing it to befall the correct person, and not the easily distracted military mind nor the typically bewildered excursionist. Do not blame the submarine's crew; I don't believe its passengers like █████ ███████ can even understand what has truly happened to them. And you do not have to forgive me for my myriad failures… but, please, remember the name, ████ ████. Know that she did not deserve her fate.
