Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a compact aluminum cage at regular dates without concern for supervision. During laying seasons SCP-XXXX must be restricted to an airtight steel chamber of the same size and supervised with a camouflaged camera. When any personnel must access the container; said personnel must be equipped with camouflaged clothing and accessories. The chamber must be completely void of all non camouflaged items and cleaned regularly during usage.
In the event of unintended transformation, SCP-XXXX-A instances will be neutralized upon sight.
All items visible to the infantile eye mustn't be allowed to enter a chamber containing SCP-XXXX-A lest permission is given by Dr.███.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a specimen of Raphus cucullatus, however it distinguishes itself with a distinct translucent forehead mark which closely resembles an ankh.
SCP-XXXX instances display roosting behavior akin to species of the family Phoenicopteridae. It shows a noteworthy ability of laying 12 eggs at once, which often produce instances of SCP-XXXX-A. SCP-XXXX has been observed to suffer great discomfort from viewing SCP-XXXX-A instances being slain, and may suffer a severe panic attack upon such, oddly it suffers no negative effects from viewing death of SCP-XXXX-A when no perpetrator can be seen.
SCP-XXXX will began producing eggs upon laying season, which is telegraphed by the Ankh mark glowing pink. Laying season begins a month after the last hour of the previous laying season, the season lasts for 168 hours, during laying seasons SCP-XXXX will produce one clutch of SCP-XXXX-A eggs per day until the last 24 hours, throughout which the specimen will return to it's standard appearance and behavior.
Though the organism does not require sustenance or oxygen, it appears to enjoy consuming stone and will create a noise similar to purring when swallowing the substance, the cause of this is unknown. When ingesting sedimentary rocks, SCP-XXXX will produce eggs of a twofold nature, being able to both hatch SCP-XXXX-A and a visible lifeless object, the object’s position appears to be replaced by the swallowed stone.
SCP-XXXX-A entities are the biological offspring of SCP-XXXX, they closely resemble hatchlings of Raphus cucullatus, carrying the same ankh shaped mark of SCP-XXXX. Unlike SCP-XXXX however, instances of SCP-XXXX-A bear the ability to morph it’s entire structure, genetic information, and anomalous factors to the first object it visually detects, excluding SCP-XXXX. The entity retains it’s ability to sense and it’s movements, utilizing leg like appendages if possible. SCP-XXXX-A instances display natural curiosity, leading to what appear to be aggression when transformed into harmful objects, anomalous or not, however Dr.███ suggests that it may be naturally hostile; attacking subjects out of consciousness. Despite being the offspring of SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX-A do not seem to be capable of maturing, due to it’s anomalous effects, tests of transformed SCP-XXXX-A instances being raised have suggested that SCP-XXXX-A does not experience the effects of aging, instead remaining the age of the transformed object.
Addendum XXXX.1: Discovery
SCP- XXXX was discovered residing in the antiquated house of [REDACTED] after reports of local objects duplicating and roaming the town during a solar eclipse. A local farmer residing in the same home claimed SCP-XXXX to be “a gift of the greater beings”, selling the entity’s eggs as a source of income. Investigators viewed an instance of a transforming SCP-XXXX-A hatchling, which transformed into a wooden hoe. SCP-XXXX was subsequently contained and residents of the site given Class-C amnestics.
Addendum XXXX.2: Testing
Testing Log
Log Format
Object:
Transformation:
Details:
Object: 5 inch wide stone.
Transformation: Complete and successful.
Details: Post transforming, the entity rolled around the area, before coming to a halt.
Object: Single steel screw.
Transformation: Complete and successful.
Details: Post transforming, the entity hopped around with the tip of the screw, before “tripping” and subsequently rolled with distress.
Object: A regular lab rat, neutralized before testing.
Transformation: Complete and successful.
Details: Post transforming, the entity was fully animate, the instance sniffed around the area, licking it’s own fur. After being shown a drop of water, the organism showed signs of contentment, quickly consuming the liquid.
Object: A piece of cut grass, banded together.
Transformation: Complete and successful.
Details: Post transforming, the entity morphed it’s grass blades into a leg like appendage, the SCP-XXXX-A instance then seemingly marched towards an area with bright sunlight within the chamber.
This test has shown valuable evidence that SCP-XXXX-A instances have the ability to alter anatomy of loose parts to form appendages.
Object: A wooden humanoid doll.
Transformation: Complete and successful.
Details: Post transforming, the entity was observed kicking the walls of the container, before attempting to utilize it’s “arms” to walk (and failing).
Somehow SCP-XXXX-A can move appendages of a solid wood doll, this may allude that SCP-XXXX-A is able to bend the structure of it’s current body.
Object: A photo of a standard lamp.
Transformation: Entity transformed into the photo, with the picture taken blurred.
Details: Post transforming, the instance attempted to maneuver via rolling, however it soon shifted to “Walking” on corners of it’s current body.
Object: Deceased specimen of the tadpole of an african clawed frog.
Transformation: Complete and successful.
Details: Within the submerged container, the transformed organism attempted to utilize it’s tail to stand underwater, upon failing the entity grew aware of swimming, and quickly swam towards the deceased tadpole.
Confirmed that SCP-XXXX-A is capable of grasping concepts such as swimming, and is able to transform when submerged.
Object: Live standard lab rat
Transformation: Failure of transforming into expected target
Details: The SCP-XXXX-A instance failed to transform into the lab rat, however the entity was successful in transforming into said rat’s teeth, and was subsequently attacked by the rat, although to no harm of the instance.
SCP-XXXX-A seems to be incapable of transforming into live objects, however it is capable of transforming into nonliving parts of the organism
Object: SCP-██
Transformation: Complete and successful.
Details: Post transformation, the entity was seen rolling around, occasionally coming into contact with SCP-██, while appearing to utilize the same abilities as SCP-██.
This confirms that SCP-XXXX-A is able to transform into non-living but animate entities, request for further testing with other SCPs are currently being evaluated.
