Puppetmaster String

Classification: Euclid (Safe/Keter Combination)

Containment: SCP-4XXX has, at least on the outside, a fairly light containment system. It appears to be an ornate glass case with velvet padding. There is also a faint static charge to the velvet placing that the string is on.

However, during maintenance, no one can be armed or have items that could be used as weapons upon them. It has been noted in Experimentation Log of the events if protocol is broken.

Description: SCP-4XXX is what appears to be a piece of string made of [REDACTED]. This material is not one that is known to exist, however it has a high resemblance to nanocarbon tubing.

This piece of string of about 0.75m of length has been shown to have no movement except when something comes within an approximate 10m range. When an inanimate object is within that range, it extends to a length of ███m in length, making a single point of contact. It has been noted that it can have an effect on sentient beings, but usually taking up to three hours to manifest any symptoms.

When an inanimate object has been taken control of, it appears to be instantaneous, and move as if almost a performance, however this does not determine whether or not SCP-4XXX has negative intent. While performances have been done without incident, there have been a few to where at least one staff member has "expired".

Work is still being done to determine what causes these sudden negative outbursts from the SCP, but experimentation logs have given some headway in the matter.
