Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
(Site containment.)
The perimeter of SCP is to be merked by a line of blue coloured stones weighted to prevent accidental displacement. A twenty (20) metre minimum distance is to be held by all personnel and the marked border surrounding SCP. Unauthorised personnel who approach this boundary are to be immediately terminated with rifle fire. Foundation personnel who cross this boundary are to be terminated regardless of authorisation. Civilians who cross this boundary are not to be terminated without approval from command personnel. Five (5) Scranton 2 Anchors are to be placed surrounding SCP. Anomalous objects should not be brought in proximitxy to SCP.
(Containment of public knowledge and memetic hazard containment)
Personnel assigned to the SCP perimeter are prohibited from carrying personal image display or image capture capable devices of any kind for the duration of their assignment. Satellite footage of SCP should be replaced with images simulated by the Foundation. These images should be witheld from individuals not aware of the specific location by atimemetic protocols (protocol Fuff). Flight paths near SCP are to be diverted. Objects originating from SCP must be monitored for possible memetic effects.
(Infohazard)
All personnel assigned to the perimeter site of SCP must not be personally familiar with the approximate region within a one hundred and sixty (160) kilometres radius of SCP. Foundation personnel and D-Class assigned to the perimeter site of SCP are not to be informed of the geographic coordinates of SCP, or any information pertaining to its regional location. A security station on the only road leading into SCP must be placed 5km distant from the Object and be manned by Foundation staff at all times. This is the only roadway leading towards SCP. Staff assigned to the perimeter site surrounding SCP are not to be informed of the nature of SCP and are to be transported to the site while blindfolded by an anonymous staff member approved by Site-XX who must not approach SCP further than the security station and is not to speak to the transportees. Foundation staff at Site-XX are to be offered class C amnestics when being reassigned.
(Object observation)
Once every day, two D-class personnel must be brought to the SCP perimeter site, blindfolded, and given head mounted video equipment with a live feed to Site-XX, which is a separate Foundation Observation site. Video footage of SCP is not to be viewed by personnel in proximity to the Object at any time. Site-XX staff are to observe the exact boundary of SCP through video footage and are to direct the movements of the D-Class to patrol around the SCP perimeter. If necessary the D-Class must be instructed to move or replace the marker stones to match the SCP perimeter at a minimum of 5m distance. Marker stones within the Objevt boundary or within the outermost marker border are to be ignored. D-Class that move beyond the blue painted line or bodily express panicked movements are to be terminated by rifle fire regardless of Site-XX authorisation. A second Site-XX staff member must observe the monitoring staff member indirectly while wearing noise cancelling ear muffs during this time, and restrain them if necessary. Compromised staff members are to be removed from communications channels and given Class-A amnestics.
(Civilians)
All civilians approaching the perimeter of SCP from any direction other than the single road are to be intercepted by Foundation staff and redirected away forcefully if necessary. If civilians approach SCP from this direction they are to be questioned by Foundation staff and redirected towards other roads. Civilians who are confused as to why they are traveling towads SCP should be questioned until they are aware of this confusion and directed to return from where they came from and told to “go a bit lighter when out drinking next time”.
(Allowed entry approved by ethics committee.)
Individuals who express deliberate intent towards entering SCP should not be prevented from doing so, but identification must be taken from them before allowing entry and their personal information should be documented among SCP XXXX-1 relevant files. Their families are to be monitored.
Description:
(Boundary description)
SCP has a geographic coverage of approximately one nundred and twenty six (126) square kilometers. Visual observation by human subjects have reported an ordinary stretch of uninhabited land indistinguishable from the surrounding lanscape. Observation of Object through image technology reveals a red coloured barrier reaching approximately five hundred (500) metres from ground level. Attempted excavation reveals the barrier extending below the ground.
(Cognitohazard)
SCP is a cognitohazardous effect that increases in effect with proximity to, knowledge of, and condireration towards SCP. At random intervals, the physical boundary of SCP gains memetic properties that effects images or footage taken of SCP at such times through technological means. This effect is proportional to the surface area of the Object that is observed by subjects. Subjects affected by the Cognitohazardous effects will experience an intense desire to enter the region covered by SCP, and will display confusion regarding this behaviour. Subjects powerfully influenced by SCP will display heightened anxiety and irratic behaviour for the duration of these effects and might turn violent. These subjects might instruct others to also attempt entry into SCP if they cannot do so themselves and this will affect those exposed to such instruction with anomalous behaviour proportional to the individual giving them such instructions. Those who are not aware of the nature of SCP that have not observed SCP through photoimagery do not display the ability to instruct others in this manner.
(Cognito-lure)
Random groups of individuals will periodically approach SCP and display confusion regarding their behaviour, and will easily be dissuaded from approaching SCP further. This effect only occurs in individuals approximately one hundred and sixtey (160) metres away from SCP and no further. At monthly intervals a group of one (1) to four (4) individuals will approach SCP and express deliberate intention to enter SCP. These individuals may be dissuaded forcefully and lose interest in SCP a few hours after being dissuaded from approach. These individuals are not limited in the distance from SCP they have been drwn from. Approximately sixty eight (68) percent of these individuals have manifested anomalous properties of some kind after four (4) months have passed from exposure to SCP. It is theorized that rather than causing anomalous properties, that SCP lures i dividuals who have the potential to manifest anomalous properties in the near future without intervention.
The perimeter of SCP has dislayed decreased levels of Hume. It has been observed that Hume levels will spontaneously decrease aroud SCP before the SCP boundary expands. Since placing Scranton Anchors to contain the Hume alteration effect of SCP, the Object boundary has been gradually shrinking inwards at a rate of fifty (50) centimetres every month.
Th
Knowledge regarding the location, physical landscape, and other refional facts have infohazardous properties that increase in effect with proximity to SCP. Observation of SCP through image technology has hazardous memetic properties at certain times and randomly. Instructions to enter SCP are memetic hazards.

Addendum:
/Notes to self
Place no one ever leaves.
Irrational desires not to leave the region.
No departure of region.
Irregularities in trade goods.
Anomalous humanoids bring in commercial goods and export?
No physical record of importers and exporters.
No reported personal knowledge of importers from residents interviewed.
Geographical spacial anomaly.Region not visible from space.
No other anomalies ever found within region.
Memetic effects communicated to agents within region had no effect.
Region discovered by Foundation when married agent refused to leave. Demanded spouse to immigrate or divorce. Agent deemed compromised, memetic kill agent failed. Agents sent to investigate terminate affected agent. Refused to return
Region not visible by artificial means. Photos reveal black void? Containment issue!
Exporters never seem entering ir leaving region
Attempts to physically drag D-personnel through border end up with dragging member crossing border instead. If restrained will become hysterical and experience amnesia. Mechanical means result in mechanical failure. There were exploisons. Radiation leakage as well.
What is horror element? Trapped? Lost? Inevitability? Loss of self? Close to home threats?
