Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: This SCP’s containment measures are currently unreliable. However, during the continuous and ongoing research into SCP-XXXX, an affinity for UV illuminated environments has been noted and implemented into its procedure for containment. UV lighting fixtures are utilized in SCP-XXXX’s current holding cell, and site personnel are required to utilize handheld UV emitters (created by Dr. Shaun) when provoked by SCP-XXXX. As an additional counter measure to SCP-XXXX’s anomalous properties and violent behaviors. Subjects and personnel involved with testing will require several LEDs in the event that the fixtures within its cell short circuit. These LEDs must emit at least 2000 lumens.
SCP-XXXX is a relatively new object and was recovered 01/01/21, additional testing is required to learn of properties that have yet to be observed. Requests from SCP-XXXX immediately require approval or denial from a site overseer. Use caution if site power shuts down as this provides a favorable environment for SCP-XXXX’s anomalous effects.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a biologically standard Caucasian male of eight years old; other than the sclera of SCP-XXXX being absent, no additional biological abnormalities have been observed. While SCP-XXXX is awake it is violent towards male personnel and subjects.
The anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX are only present in the absence, and by proxy, absorption of UV light. Anomalous effects initially present as three orbs of light circling around SCP-XXXX; these orbs emit lethal doses of radiation within a 1.524m radius unless light is present- time of presentation is infrequent regarding the manifestation of these orbs. Negative emotional stimulus has been observed to increase the chances of manifestation by 30%, bringing the percentage up to 70%. In the event light is present near these orbs, 2000 Lumens of light will immediately be absorbed into one of the three orbs. When the light has been absorbed, without obstruction, the orbs will disappear and SCP-XXXX will enter a comatose state. During this state, site personnel are required to note any abnormalities within the facility and report them to the site overseer.
Addendum: Recovery Log
Date: 2021/01/01
Note: The condition of SCP-XXXX was critical upon recovery, it had three lacerations on its back and was recovered from an apartment complex. The apartment SCP-XXXX was located in had the body of SCP-XXXX’s deceased father. The foundation was called after local law enforcement reported two missing officers. No further contact from the apartment complex was received.
Transcription:
Agent Thomas: Lights are out for the whole complex, several police vehicles outside, please advise.
Foundation Contact Center: Proceed with caution to apartment 228, ensure your team remains alert.
Agent Thomas: Affirmative, proceeding.
Several minutes passed without contact
Foundation Contact Center: Has your team reached the target?
Agent Thomas: Yeah, but it’s a damn mess here, two officers dead, and a dead middle-aged male near a kid; condition doesn’t look good, unconscious. advise.
Foundation Contact Center: Retrieve the child and vacate the complex. We’ll have a van waiting outside for you. Have your team check the bodies for possible anomalous properties, or signs of.
Closing Statement: Thomas’s team detected a lethal dose of radiation surrounding the father of SCP-XXXX, as well as the male officers. An interview with SCP-XXXX was conducted shortly upon recovery and stabilization.
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Dr. Roberts Amelia
Foreword: The subject was initially hesitant to converse, but was willing to communicate.
<Begin Log>
Dr. Roberts Amelia: Hey there, I’m sorry to have to do this to you, but we need to know what happened to make sure you are okay.
SCP-XXXX: Okay..
Dr. Roberts Amelia: Can you go ahead and tell me what happened today?
SCP-XXXX: My dad is dead…I did it, he-he hurt me…sobbing I didn’t want those policemen to die..I didn’t..I didn’t sobbing continues
Dr. Roberts Amelia: I understand this is difficult for you, but we need to know what happened so we can help.
SCP-XXXX:Okay. SCP pauses
Dr. Roberts Amelia: …Do you remember what happened?
SCP-XXXX: My dad was always mean to me. He hurt me and mom before she went away, but he got worse some days, and I started sleeping more…today he just, he tried to hurt me, I didn’t mean to hurt him, I just wanted him to stop, I don't even remember waking up; it felt like a dream…This feels like a dream SCP-XXXX slumped in its chair
Dr. Roberts Amelia: Here no one will hurt you, and you will be safe, but you do have to stay here and we need to understand why this happened. You aren’t in trouble and we want to keep it that way. After this I’ll give you a tour, that is if you want to stay here. There are other facilities as well.
SCP-XXXX: I want to stay here.
Dr. Roberts Amelia: Good, but I need to know…what happens when you sleep?
SCP-XXXX [Redacted]
Closing Statement: At this point the brief interview ends, and Dr. Amelia had site personnel escort SCP-XXXX to its cell. SCP-XXXX is now restricted from exiting its cell, unless testing permits so. This restriction was given following an incident with Dr. Shaun after testing his emitter; Dr. Shaun was treated for radiation sickness. Further research is necessary for a better understanding of SCP-XXXX and its properties. Further testing measures are pending ethics committee approval.
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX requires constant surveillance due to its anomalous influence on site staff and personnel that are terminally ill, gravely injured, or depressed. Per standard containment, SCP-XXXX's item case is to remain locked unless otherwise authorized by a staff member with level 4 clearance. Site staff are to remain on high alert when their colleagues sustain an injury that could lead to their expiration; onset of anomalous effects begin after initial injury, or onset of depression. Site staff must undergo standard psychological and physical evaluations for signs of memetic or physical contamination by SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-1 instances are to be contained in standard humanoid containment cells at Site-23. Protocol "Mutiny" is to be put into effect following the exposure of a site overseer to SCP-XXXX. For additional information, refer to Addendum 4545-1.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a do-it-yourself dollmaker’s kit. The kit itself is non anomalous in appearance only; the kit has an unexplained allure to persons who are terminally ill, suffering from a severe injury, fearful of the prospect of death, or depressed. This influence has an undetermined area of effect. Due to the uncertainty of this area of effect, all site staff are required to undergo standard psychological evaluations. If a member of site staff is exposed to SCP-XXXX outside of its containment case, then that staff member is considered an SCP-XXXX-1 instance until the transformation process either doesn't occur, or proceeds as documented. The instance is to be monitored and interviewed before and after the transformation process is complete.
SCP-XXXX-1 instances are transformed when a person creates a doll from SCP-XXXX. The doll created will change in appearance to match that of the person who made it; upon this change, the person will begin to take on a porcelain appearance- this is due to an anomalous alteration of the sebaceous glands causing them to secrete altered sebum that calcifies when oxidized. The height of the instance will also change to match that of the doll they created; internal organs will remain biologically intact and function normally. The doll created will revert to its unaltered state upon completion of the transformation process. Becoming an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 increases lifespan by 45 years regardless of age or ailment.
The transformation process has been described as “painful, but beautiful” by most instances. Instances' perception of this process is influenced, however, they do maintain the usual sentience and personality that they held prior to transformation. SCP-XXXX-1 instances are non-violent and are compliant with containment. Site members who have become instances understand containment protocol and are still valuable assets to the foundation, and Site-23. SCP-XXXX-1 entities require additional care to walk, drink, and eat due to impaired mobility. Instances may only speak through the use of sign language (ASL); the vocal cords of instances experience the same process as their skin, and as a result harden causing speech to become impractical. If an instance did not know ASL prior to transformation then efforts will be made to teach them. Notepads will be provided as an additional option for communication.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX was recovered on 05/23/1993 in Georgia after MTF Epsilon-6 ‘Village Idiots’ responded to a request for aid from the Norcross Police Department. This request for aid was in response to the discovery of an SCP-XXXX-1 instance. This instance was recovered from a local library and cooperated with MTF Epsilon-6 in the acquisition of SCP-XXXX. Once detained and transferred, the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 requested termination as it was discontent with its current existence (initial instance of SCP-XXXX-1 claimed to be from 1922 after recovery). The request was granted after Ethics Committee approval.
Addendum 4545-1: Incident 2613 Documentation
Incident 2613 occurred 2 weeks after recovery of SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-1. A member of site staff noted overseer Muller acting obsessive towards SCP-XXXX. The overseer ignored his duties to other objects and constantly inquired on the status of SCP-XXXX. He gained access to SCP-XXXX's containment case and became an SCP-XXXX-1 instance. Security was unable to reach Muller before he created a doll. An interview was conducted after the overseer was detained.
Interviewed: Overseer Muller
Interviewer: Dr. Collin
Forward: Overseer Muller was delirious, sweating profusely throughout the interview. The interview concluded when Overseer Muller collapsed to the floor and complained of pain in his abdomen. Dr. Collin then concluded the interview, tending to Overseer Muller.
< Begin Log, 06/06/1993 4:00pm >
Dr. Collin: Hello Muller, I understand that you were recently exposed to SCP-XXXX. Site staff, and myself, are concerned about your condition. How are you feeling?
Overseer Muller: I'm feeling fine, better than I was before. Why are you all so concerned? When can I return to my duties?
Dr. Collin: Well, considering you were just exposed to an anomalous object it's obvious why. Your duties are also out of the question until we can ensure you're fit to return.
Overseer Muller: Really I'm f- Muller stops, falling out of his chair and clenching his abdomen…Oh god, my stomach, my skin, what the hell!
Dr. Collin quickly exits the room, then returns with security staff
Dr. Collin: can be heard faintly Alright, get him to a containment cell right now! Dr. Collin grabs recorder and shuts it off
< End Log, 06/06/1993 4:15pm >
Closing Statement: Overseer Muller remained an SCP-XXXX-1 Instance following the interview and was removed from his overseer position. A request for a replacement overseer was approved by the 05-Council. Muller remains in containment with other instances of SCP-XXXX-1. Protocol Mutiny created.
Protocol Mutiny: If a site overseer is under the influence of SCP-XXXX and requests that SCP-XXXX's case be opened, all available site staff and security are to detain and contain that site overseer until they are screened and cleared psychologically. If SCP-XXXX's influence is absent after evaluation, then the site overseer may return to their duties. If SCP-XXXX's influence is apparent and present after evaluation, then a request for replacement must be sent to the 05-Council.
Addendum 4545-2: Euthanasia/Disposal Procedures for SCP-XXXX-1 Instances
Approval To Euthanize
. Approval must be obtained from the Ethics Committee
. Once approved by the Committee, an instance must give their own approval
. Once approved by the instance, the procedure may continue
Euthanasian Procedure
. Provide Instance with orally administered pain narcotic
. Make a 12.7mm incision into instance's skin (industrial power drill recommended)
. Prepare barbiturate, paralytic, and potassium solution
. Use incision as injection point- soft tissues exposed
. Guide and comfort the instance through death
. Prepare instance's body for disposal
Disposal procedure
. Escort the instance's body to the on-site incinerator for cremation
. Place the body into the incinerator and follow standard instructions (if not known, instructions will be given to you)
. Put the remaining debris into standard bio-hazardous material bags
. Place the bags into waste bins located outside of the incinerator room
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the inert nature of SCP-XXXX, it does not pose a direct threat to foundation staff. However, under no circumstances is SCP-XXXX to be utilized on non-anomalous humanoids. The crystal that gives SCP-XXXX its properties should never be removed; removal of the crystal could lead to a containment breach. An approval of experimentation is required for testing of SCP-XXXX on any and all humanoid anomalies currently in containment. Site-19 anomalous storage is responsible for SCP-XXXX's containment.
SCP-XXXX's containment case is a standard locked container.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a collar created by Dr. Colin Flood for the purpose of nullifying the effects of anomalies with reality bending capabilities and dimensional shifting capabilities. The collar is made of steel, rubber, and a crystal capable of absorbing photons. The energy gained from the absorption of photons is then converted, by anomalous means, into a unifying force that keeps anomalies tethered and confined to the laws of our reality. This collar only affects anomalies with the aforementioned capabilities.
SCP-XXXX is able to adjust its size to fit abnormal humanoids. If an anomaly does not have a neck, SCP-XXXX should be placed on the thinnest appendage that the object has. Dr. Colin Flood has yet to explain how and why SCP-XXXX can affect other objects in the way it does. The collar and the crystal remain inert unless placed on a humanoid. SCP-XXXX's properties effect only the individual or object it has been placed on.
Addendum: Dr. Colin Flood agreed to an interview following Incident 7-00; in which Colin experimented on fellow researcher Dr. Mallory Lynn. This experiment was never submitted for approval and violates ethics guidelines. Per violation parameters, a termination order for Dr. Colin Flood is pending.
Interview Log:
Interviewed: Dr. Colin Flood
Interviewer: Senior Researcher Able
Foreword: Following Incident 7-00, Dr. Colin Flood was interviewed in hopes of determining why he would use Dr. Mallory Lyn as a test subject. During this interview, Dr. Lyn was pronounced dead, and Dr. Colin was subsequently informed.
<Begin Log, 04/12/2019>
Senior Researcher Able: You understand why you’re here, so I won’t bother with introductions. You are responsible for the critical condition of Dr. Mallory. Why exactly did you do this?
Colin Flood: Well, the device needed testing, and she wasn’t going anywhere in the foundation; might as well end a life that they would eventually destroy anyway.
Senior Researcher Able: That’s your justification for this incident? pauses You understand that what you did could lead to your termination, correct?
Colin Flood: Yes, but I have no concern with that, as long as my findings help in the aid of containment.
Senior Researcher Able: You’ve already tested it on what it was meant to contain. So why test it on a non-anomalous humanoid? An important one I might add.
Colin Flood: She was there, she trusted me, and I viewed her as a threat to our efforts.
Senior Researcher Able: How did Mallory pose a threat? She has a clean record and has helped in containment as you have. She is as much of an asset as you were.
Colin Flood: I-
Senior Researcher Able: Hold on
Able at this point was informed of Dr. Lyn’s death via radio
Senior Researcher Able: Your ‘threat’ is gone. Stay here for a moment please, I need to step out.
20 minutes pass
Colin Flood fidgets during Able’s absence
Able Returns
Senior Researcher Able: passes papers to Colin Flood Per ethics violation resulting in the death of a staff member, you are being considered for termination; please fill out the papers provided and you will be escorted to a cell. We’re done here.
<End Log>
Closing Statement: After this interview, Dr. Colin Flood was considered for termination and a termination order is pending. Further investigation into a motive revealed that Dr. Lyn had connections with GOI Serpent’s Hand. While Colin Flood has not given an official statement, it is assumed that the connection was the primary motive for Incident 7-00.
