Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a simple fireproof and waterproof safe in storage locker 43 in sub-level 18 site [DATA REDACTED]. All researchers must get permission from at least one level 4 and above Staff member to remove SCP-XXXX from containment for testing purposes only.

I would like to remind all personnel that SCP-XXXX is not a toy and has lasting effects. Improper use of SCP-XXXX will lead to demotion of any personnel involved to class D.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a blank name badge from the retail company [DATA REDACTED], found in [REDACTED], Perth, Western Australia. On first glance SCP-XXXX is no different to any other name badge from the same company aside lacking a name and the slight burn marks around the bottom left of the badge see addendum 1.

SCP-XXXX has 3 main stages of effect which can last at most 1 week. See addendum 2.

Stage 1
When SCP-XXXX is affixed to a subject (only seems to take effect on humans awaiting permission for primate testing), via pinning the safety pin on its reverse to a subject's shirt, pants, shoes or even to direct skin the subject will imminently become docile and unresponsive to outside stimuli. SCP-XXXX will soon there after display the first name of the wearer etched deeply into itself. The subjects clothing will begin to rapidly deteriorate and a new set of clothing will appear underneath, this process will take between 3 and 26 minutes, depending on what the subject was wearing prior to expositor. If the subject is not wearing any clothes or if the subject is missing articles of clothing, their skin will begin to turn red and rapidly peel off their body revelling the new clothes have formed underneath (see addendum 1).
Note: Although this seems to cause stimulation to the nervous system it does not seem to cause pain to the subject and the subject will remain completely silent throughout this process.

Stage 2
Once all articles of the new clothing are present (consisting of a navy blue [DATA REDACTED] company shirt, brown pants and black steel toe boots as in accordance with company [DATA REDACTED]'s uniform dress code) the subject will become animated again and ask if anyone in the vicinity if they require assistance. If someone asks for assistance the subject will respond positively and provide help regardless of what they were doing before and with no regard to their own personal health and well being. See addendum 1. For the next several hours the subject will preform tasks given by any personal, regardless of any language barrier or how dangerous this task is.

Note: if the subject is asked a question about directions to something in a 2km radius they will be able to accurately answer even without prior knowledge of what it is they giving directions to or even where it was before (this may be useful for locating missing persons or objects), however if the subject is asked to give directions further than this and outside of the subjects prior knowledge of the area, the subject will become incredibly apologetic and will generally die within a few minutes due to rapid formation of brain cancer and/or heart disease seemingly caused by stress.

If the subject runs out of given tasks, subject will become autonomous and begin to preform unrequested tasks such as, but not limited to; cleaning, cooking, tidying work stations, providing minor first aid, fixing mechanical or electronic devices (even without prior understanding of how these devices work) restocking supplies, cataloguing supplies, filing paperwork and in one instance after containment breach [REDACTED] where [REDACTED] number of personnel were killed, subject was spotted moving a cadaver of doctor [REDACTED] to the morgue for processing.

During this stage although it appears the subject is working to their full capacity without food, water or sleep, if they do not receive these it will lead to stage 3.

Stage 3
This will occur between 24 hours (if the subject has not been told to eat, drink or sleep (See addendum 2)) to 7 days after first contact with SCP-XXXX. The subject will die, this is generally caused by but not limited to; dehydration, lack of treatment to injuries obtained during their time using SCP-XXXX (See addendum 1), over excursion, hunger, sleep deprivation or Stress related illnesses.

The subject can not remove SCP-XXXX themselves but can have other personnel do it for them, if SCP-XXXX is removed the subject will seemingly resume previous characteristics and will have no memory of the their time with SCP-XXXX. If removed, subjects in 53% of cases will make a full recovery. Medical examinations show that most subjects will have a residual stress related illness including, but not limited to; cancer, blood clots, heart disease, depression, anxiety or Alzheimer's disease, all of which can be treated with conventional means if treated early enough and Alzheimer's can be treated with SCP-500.

"Note: it may be possible to extend the use of SCP-XXXX if we use SCP-500 to counter balance the negative effects periodically." DR Delrin
"I hope you aren't suggesting that we waste SCP-500 so you can have a slave that follows you around all day." Dr T Williams

Addendum 1:

SCP-XXXX test log 1: Subject D class 206-487 here by referred to as subject.
SCP-XXXX was affixed to subject who willingly participated in the experiment.
Subject began stage 1, and SCP-XXXX etched the name [REDACTED] into itself, consistent with subjects previous first name. Subject was not wearing shoes at the point of first contact and thus formed shoes from under skin of his feet. 22 minutes later subject became responsive seeking the closest human who was a member of site security.
Subject: "hello my name is [REDACTED], may I help you at all today?"
Security in authoritative loud voice: "how about you stay the hell away from me!"
Subject: "certainly sir" subject commenced to stand as far away as humanly possible from the security personnel without leaving the room.

Subject was then asked by a researcher to pick up a dropped pencil from the floor of the testing chamber and return it to them, subject compiled.

Subject was asked to do the same thing but this time the pencil was placed into a pot of boiling water.
Subject was provided with forceps on the table but chose not to use them, instead retrieving the pencil off the top of the water with his bare hands. Subject received minor second degree burns.
when questioned about their condition subject stated: "I am fine thank you, and how about yourself?"

SCP-XXXX Test log 2: Subject D class 206-902 here by referred to as subject.
Subject was unwilling to participate and violent towards staff members, once restrained, SCP-XXXX was affixed to subject though the back of their hand. Subject became immediately docile and all muscles were relaxed, restraint was lifted and SCP-XXXX's first stage began to take effect. Notably SCP-XXXX seemed to travel up the subjects arm and plant itself above the left pocket of the subjects "uniform".

Once stage 1 was complete subject asked politely if they could assist researchers with any tasks completely changing any sort of character traits previous displayed.
Subject was asked to provided minor first aid to personnel that were injured during the restraint of the subject.
Subject did so willingly and even filled out incident report cards for all injured staff recounting the injuries and exactly how they were obtained. It is not yet known if this is because subjects effected by SCP-XXXX can remember what they did before being affected or if they are recalling information though some other means.

Subject then commenced testing first being asked to carry a weight of 10kg (aproximetly 22lbs) and do 10 laps of a 40m (aproximetly 131ft) walking curse. Subject responded positively and proceeded to preform the task.
Subject did not slow or stop passing each lap at 53.2 seconds
subject was asked to preform the same course, this time carrying a 20kg (aproximetly 44lbs) weight.
Same as previous result
Subject was asked to carry a 50kg (aproximetly 110lbs) weight and preform the same course.
Same as previous result and did not show any signs of damage even though this weight is thought to be way more than what someone should be able to comfortably carry over this distance.
Note: the subject did not slow or stop throughout any of these tests, this may be a means of getting more use out of class D personnel.
I redact my previous statement this is obviously a bad idea.
after medical examination the subject showed the subject had several torn tendons in their back, legs and neck, they also had several broken bones in their fingers and back.
Subject then had SCP-XXXX removed and they returned all previous character traits, including yelling obscenities and threats of violence to staff and their families.
Subject attempted to attack the closest member of staff when their back bent in an unnatural formation and they let out cries of pain before collapsing and were later pronounced deceased. It appears the subjects back was only just held in place and their sudden action caused the severing of the spinal cord leaving the subject paralysed from the waist down, their death however seems to be caused by the rupture of their bladder, this may have occurred during testing but this is unclear.

SCP-XXXX unexpected testing: subject D class 223-003 here by referred to as subject.
During containment breach [REDACTED] whilst subject was out of their cell and being prepared for testing, all personnel were requested to report to the south wing to fight a out of control fire. SCP-XXXX was attached to the subject and they were left in stage 1 of it's effect.
16 minutes later subject responded to the fire with a site fire extinguisher without being requested to do so. At one point the subject had been engulfed in the fire but did not retreat until the fire was under control.
Note SCP-XXXX was damaged during this event so please be careful, although it possesses anomalous characteristics it is not indestructible, it should be kept in a fireproof and waterproof safe from now on.

Subject continued to clean up after the incident and even provided first aid to injured staff assuring them that they would be ok whist doing so. Subject was later spotted carrying the body of doctor [REDACTED] to the morgue for processing. Subject was then lost for several hours and was later found in an air vent repairing a ventilation fan.

Addendum 2:

Addendum 3:

Addendum 4: It is not recommended that personnel tell subjects experiencing SCP-XXXX to "take a break" as this will result in the subject sitting in a designated break area where they will become extremely agitated before having an extreme catatonic breakdown shortly followed by death caused by stress related illnesses.
