Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: When not being using for tests, SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard anomalous item containment locker with electronic keypad access at Site-██ that is to be supervised by one guard at all times. Personnel wishing to experiment with SCP-XXXX must first receive written permission from SCP-XXXX's lead researcher Dr. Richards. A full list of tests with SCP-XXXX must be recorded and tests involving SCP-XXXX supervised by one guard at all times. Testing involving sensitive foundation information is prohibited for any personnel under level 4, attempts to do so will result in permanent demotion to D-class.
Description: SCP-XXXX refers to a 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm tiled cube resembling that of a Rubik's cube. Each face has 36 white tiles on it, each one of these tiles has either 1 character of the modern Latin alphabet or 1 character of the denary number system embossed into the surface and coloured black. A mechanism inside the cube allows each cross-section to be rotated around the center of the cube, however by no known non-anomalous ways of "solving" the cube to an understandable pattern have been found. The object shows no signs of wear or damage and has proved indestructible through testing and methods of dating the object have been ineffective.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous effect manifests when it is attempted to be solved whist out of sight or any other forms observation including video recording. If the person who is attempting to solve SCP-XXXX asks a question out loud in the English, SCP-XXXX will take an amount of time varying from 10 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on the question asked, and then it will reach a "solved" state
When the cube reaches a solved state, upon being observed the first side of the cube seen by the user will have the answer to the question asked whilst solving the cube. The answer will be "written" by the characters of the cube being organised from left to right across the side in such a way that the characters make up a sentence answering said question in English. SCP-XXXX is always able to create an answer, even when not enough of a certain character is present on the cube previously to create the answer. If the answer takes more than 36 characters to write, the answer will continue onto adjacent sides. When this happens the user will always somehow, likely through anomalous means, know intuitively where to carry on reading for their answer.
Through testing it has been found that is asked SCP-XXXX is able to answer all previously asked questions questions correctly, even those those pertaining future events, closely guarded secrets and even things that are not within any human's knowledge. However whenever it answers a question the answer will always be technically true. It does this by either focusing on the semantics of a question rather than the pragmatics, giving an answer that is technically correct but not what the user wanted from the question or giving an answer that is true however it is written in a misleading way often getting the user to misinterpret the answer.
