Item #: SCP-xxxx
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Item is to be stored in a standard lock-box, clearance level 2 or higher is required to access SCP-XXXX for research purposes (see Addendum-XXXX-2). Any Research Involving SCP-XXXX must be done within a hermetical sealed room, to prevent the escape of SCP-XXXX-1.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an incense burner in the form of a statuette. The statuette depicts a humanoid down on one knee with its head bowed and holding a brazier above it’s head. The statuette is made of clay with a flesh-tone coloration except for the brazier and hands which are made of solid magnesium with a faded golden finish. The statuette stands at 33cm and weighs 2.25kg. The brazier is 76mm in diameter with a 6.4mm hole in the center, directly below this hole is a 2mm hole located on the base of the statuettes neck.
When an incense is put into SCP-XXXX and lit, the scent produced form the incense is an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 (see addendum-XXXX-1) Individuals that inhale SCP-XXXX-1, become instances of SCP-XXXX-2A, they begin to feel a sense of euphoria and congregate around SCP-XXXX. instances of SCP-XXXX-2A will become completely unresponsive, Simply sitting in a circle around SCP XXXX. once the incense has burned down to the brazier, the brazier will fill with a whitish blue flame. The flame persists for approximately ten seconds before extinguishing itself and the intense continues to burn normally. After this point, any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 will not cause instances of SCP-XXXX-2A. Once the incense burns out, all affected persons turn away from SCP and go about what they were doing before the incense was lit. Those Afflicted will have no memory of what transpired while the incense was lit and show no ill-effects physically or mentally, aside from reports of having strange dreams revolving around fire, smoke, and SCP.
Post Addendum-1 Research: Once the incense has burned out completely all the smoke in the testing room disappears. However trapping the smoke in a container and removing it from the presence of SCP, will not dissipate and will persist indefinitely in the container. exposure to this smoke, while SCP does not have a lit incense in it, will cause those exposed to come instances of SCP-XXXX-2B. instances of SCP-XXXX-2B will crumple over in pain before being engulfed in the same flame that appears in the Brazier of SCP. once the flame has dissipated it'll be no trace of a body or Ash which is typically associated with cremation. it is not known what happens to the body or where the person goes.
Addendum:
Addendum-XXXX-1: after a Junior research broke containment by entering the testing room with an improperly secured oxygen mask while retrieving SCP-XXXX post-testing, the junior experienced no symptoms of exposure to SCP-XXXX-1 and further test concluded that SCP-XXXX-1 is the smoke produced by the incense burning in SCP-XXXX, not the fragrance.
Addendum-XXXX-2: any research involving SCP XXXX is to cease indefinitely by authority of the 05 Council. site-██ is currently under review by the Ethics Committee due to The death of a junior researcher during an experiment involving SCP-XXXX, as well as other experiments that bring into question the morals and ethics of several researchers at site ██.
