SCP #1 - Bad Time Story

Item #: SCP-<num>

Object Class: Euclid (Reclassification as Safe pending.)

Special Containment Procedures: Any Containment for SCP-<num> must at least comply with the standards EN 1043-1 and EN 1047-1 for safes by the European Committee for Standardization. Strongrooms and/or Safes with at least Resistance Grade III are allowed to temporary contain a single instance of SCP-<num>. Only Stongrooms and/or Safes with Resistance Grade VII are suitable to permanently contain multiple instances of SCP-<num>. The primary focus of the containment is to restrict access to SCP-<num>. It poses no risk of a containment breach on its own.

Any living or anomalous instances containing SCP-<num> are to be terminated or at least contained under same standards. Any conscious being fully aware of SCP-<num> without the described symptoms are to be terminated or at least contained under same standards. All instances encountert outside the foundation are approved in advance to be terminated. The recovery of instances is only needed if termination is not feasible.

Access to any containment of SCP-<num> is restricted to Class-4 personnel only. Any instance of SCP-<num> outside of its containment has to be accompined by at least two (2) armed guards to ensure proper handling. Creating new instances of SCP-<num> must be approved by the site containment supervisor. Tests including SCP-<num> are only allowed in particular testchambers. (Refer to the test supervisor)

Unauthorized/unobserved instances of SCP-<num> are to be reported immediatly to site administraton.

WARNING: On command of O5-██, summaries of SCP-<num> are not allowed to be stored in this database. Contact ████████ at Site-14 for more informations.

Description: SCP-<num> is a story of the ████ genere originally written in the german language covering ████ words at the time of writing.
SCP-<num> is a piece of information and thus a non-physical entity. SCP-<num> is a highly destructive cognito hazard. Its anomalous effects are not detectable as they only appear when humans actively read SCP-<num>. When read SCP-<num> causes the reader high physical and mental distress. The effect grows exponentially to the amount of the story read.
SCP-<num> is not to be confused with the medium that is carrying the instance(s) of SCP-<num> e.g. the paper wich story is written on.
Due to its nature it is impossible to fully contain or destroy SCP-<num>. New instances of SCP-<num> could be created outside the facility by chance. However, (as stated below) the anomylous effects can not be observed before 150 words.
(There are currently multiple Instances in containment at Site-14 and Site-98. See full inventory list SCP-<num>-L.) As for now any known instances are in containment or destroyed.

The caused effects on the test subject (henceforth the reader) can be differed in the following stages.

Stage 0
Upon starting with reading, SCP-<num> seems like an ordinary story of the [Redacted] genre. The reader is capable of stopping himself from further reading. No anomalies are observable at this point.
Stage 1
After about ███ words read (from the beginning) the subject shows a abnormal dedication to continue reading. This is caused by a release of dopamine. The reader is not likely to acknowledge this effect by himself. The subject will show the same dopamine release when brought back to that matter after an arbitraty amount of time. The strength of this effect may varray based on the initial interest of the subject in the genre of SCP-<num>.
Stage 2
After about ████ words read (from the beginning) the subject starts to show altered behavior. Restricting further access to SCP-<num> at this point will leave the subject in mental distress that shows similarity to withdrawal symptoms. This state has shown to be permanent. Longer exposure this state have shown to cause serious brain damage. Subjects however preserve their ability to read and will continue to do so on any written material handed to them. When not employed, subjects also lose their ability to read after approximatley 10 to 20 hours as well as most of their brain-functionality. Any attempt to interact with the subject in this state have failed. Administering Class-C amnesia can recover a test subject from this state. However, it does not heal caused brain damage.
Stage 3
After about ████ words read (from the beginning) the subjects seem to experience physical pain. Subjects start to experience uncontrollable muscular tractions. Heart and breathing rate increase significantly. Blood analysis shows high concentration of adrenalin additional to the Stage 1 dopamine levels. Subjects in this state are highly aggressive towards any foundation personnel and equipment. Avoiding direct contact is highly recommended. Additionally to the adrenalin induced increased strength the subject seems to be incapable to feel any kind of pain. Longer exposure to this state however shows no sign of causing the before mentioned brain damage. Instead the brain seem to have undergone a major reconstruction. Administering Class-C amnesia do not reverse these effects. Therefore, Stage 3 is considered permanet.

WARNING: It is highly recommended to not let the exposure to Stage 3 exceed 12 hours. Subjects show a growth in physical strength.

The subject does not necessarily have to read SCP-<num> to get affected. For example SCP-<num> can be read to the subject (via TTS-Software). However, it is essential that SCP-<num> is understood by the subject in order to be affected. Reading the story in a non attentive state or unknown language shows reduced to no effects respectively.1
The effects decrease significantly when SCP-<num> is altered such as changing and/or deleting parts of the text. SCP-<num> also shows reduced effects on younger subjects aged in the range from 7 to 14 years. This might be caused by a lack of understanding the text due to it's complexity.
There is no significant difference in the intensity of the effects when SCP-<num> is translated into another language. However translation-software available to the foundation is produces not optimal traslations.

Discovery: SCP-<num> was artificially created within the foundation. It is a result of a test series lead by Dr. M██████ to find uniquely self continuing memetic info structures in the german language. In other words: SCP-<num> was designed to have only a minimal amount of possible outcomes independent of the reader. The research involved the SCP-technology to analyse brain stuctures.
The outline of all stories was kept fixed while an AI was used to produce optimal word patterns. The results were then given to D-Class personel for evaluation.
SCP-<num> was then discoverd on ██/██/20██ as the 44th iteration of the test (Incident #A4).

Additional remarks: The Euclid Ranking of this SCP seems appropriate given it's "easy to copy" nature. Todays global networks would pose an active threat to billions of people when comprimised with SCP-<num>.

NOTE: Up to this point it is still unknown what SCP-<num> is exactly. There are active investigations concerning this matter.

SCP #2 - Infinity Man

Item #: SCP-<num>

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-<num> is not to be contained nor monitored by the foundation. All encounters are to be documented.

Description: SCP-<num>, is a Lifeform currently in the body of an 23 year old male human. He is not visually distinguishable from an average human this age.

SCP-<num> came to attention to the foundation as an exteamly longliving person. Found records are dating back to ██/██/1878 when he first registred as a citizen in ███████. Relevant files were confiscated under the disguise of digitalisation and SCP-<num> was detained at the given residence. Upon capture SCP-<num> showed no sign of confusion nor resistance and cooperated with the foundation personnel.
