Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept inside a 20x20m room behind a simple steel door, secured to the floor with tire restraints, and a veil attached to a simple pulley system that completely obscures sight to the object. Access and testing must be authorized by at least two Level 2 personnel, or one of any higher Level personnel. Due to the memetic nature of SCP-XXXX, only one standard door guard on standard shift rotation is required.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a four door sedan of an unknown make and model, with no identifiable markings on the body. The body is jet black and similar in feel and appearance of a matted surface and is made of an unidentifiable and seemingly indestructible metal, as no tests have managed to cause any damage to the body, including explosive. The windows are deeply tinted, no light source has been able to illuminate the inside. All attempts to photograph or video SCP-XXXX have failed, with the object becoming severely distorted and blurred, with an effected area nearly three times as wide as the size of SCP-XXXX, regardless of distance from the object. The inside of SCP-XXXX is empty, save for four standard car chairs. There is a deep, dark emerald blue tint inside, seeming to originate from the windows, as if from beyond them. As of █/█/20██ there have been no successful attempts to sit someone inside.

The anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX occur when a direct line of sight is made. Any life-form acquiring direct line of sight will begin to feel a sudden onset of mild paranoia and anxiety from the direction of the object. Breaking line of sight in any way will stop these feelings. The second anomalous property occurs when standing within 15m of the object, regardless of line of sight or any boundary between it and another life-form. The subject will feel an immense sensation of fear and show signs of a developing panic attack, with these feelings growing in intensity the closer the subject comes to SCP-XXXX. There has been little success in making direct contact with the object itself, though few have succeeded. Test subjects forced at gunpoint, threatened with termination, to make contact with SCP-XXXX have refused to continue. Administering amnesiacs does not nullify the memetic effects. Electronic equipment of any kind will suffer irreparable catastrophic damage when within 5m of the object itself

If a subject remains inside the area of influence, even without closing distance, the aforementioned feelings will increase steadily, albeit slower than closing distance. Either way, the fallout period of these feelings will remain for a drastically longer amount of time. █ D-Class have been terminated at the standard end of their term without regressing. A side effect of this mental influence is that subjects will hold a similar fear against approaching or entering any motor vehicle, including motorcycles. Subjects have been shown to become violent in refusing to approach vehicles after the first encounter with SCP-XXXX, or to have a second encounter, resulting in forced termination.

“I'm going to put forth a request to keep some D-Class alive beyond their month term to see just how long this influence can last” -Dr. Rylon

Tests using SCP-714 have had no success and have resulted in the deaths of █ D-Class through [REDACTED] likely a result of SCP-714's enhancement of fear from the source of memetic influences. Requests to use SCP-714 for further testing with SCP-XXXX will be denied, by the order of O5-█

“We had to use a goddamn 20 meter hooked pole to retrieve the damn corpses with 714 on them, and then clean the mess the bodies left. Multiple times! Do you have any idea how difficult this was to achieve? How silly it looks? I'm not doing this again, I'm getting O5 clearance to deny further testing with 714, it obviously is too goddamn dangerous. And messy. Fuck.” -Dr. Rylon

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered in a rural area of ██████ ████, █████ after reports circulating the internet of a strange vehicle that caused immense fear gained traction in the community, leading to a money pool to see who could identify or claim the object. Foundation personnel quickly stepped in to claim SCP-XXXX after clearing the area and deleting all sources containing knowledge of it, including administering Class-A amnesiacs to all townspeople. Special heavy lift gear was ordered in to retrieve SCP-XXXX after its memetic nature was quickly identified and all on-site Foundation personnel were ordered not to approach. Object was moved and contained in Site-19

[[I will add test logs here later, especially if there are ways to tighten this up, improve it.]]
