Lower portion of SCP-XXXX

Description: SCP-XXXX is a large citadel/tower suggested to have been built in the 14th century. It is located in a dead forest, north-west of the city ████████, Utah. On 4/30/████ SCP-XXXX appeared on Earth, on top of ten intersecting ley lines¹.

Alchemy lab of SCP-XXXX

SCP-XXXX's exterior is in holding up, to say the least. The origin of SCP-XXXX is unknown, though the hume level of the tower is high, suggesting it is not from our reality. SCP-XXXX is 51 meters tall, with a 30 meter diameter, with various different floors.

The interior of SCP-XXXX has not been able to be accessed as of now, further updates will be posted.

Surrounding SCP-XXXX, the plant life has grown exponentially, with trees growing hundreds of feet tall. Many plants not native to North America have sprouted, along with many newly discovered flora as well. These plants have been sent back to sites for research. Two of the recovered plants have grown small berries, one is a poison, the other is a antiode for the poison. A third, labeled Itea luyeum, seems to be producing small signals, responding to human speech. There is no fauna surrounding SCP-XXXX, either killed from the sudden hume level change, or scared off from the sudden appearance of SCP-XXXX.

Update 5/28/█████

The fauna surrounding SCP-XXXX has returned, flooding the area of SCP-XXXX. Many species have began to over populate the area, causing a disruption of the natural flow. The flora how ever, continues it's growth. The remaining flora appear to have no special attributes, Itea luyeum has been gathered, and studies are beginning.

The first floor of the tower has been opened, there is a strange substance growing over most of floor and walls of the room. Further tests will be completed to verify what it is.

There are noises suggesting entities residing within the upper floors of SCP-XXXX, thermal scans show nothing. Please refer to file:XXXX/audio-log/third-floor.

Update 6/14/█████
The fauna around SCP-XXXX have grown sick, some have turned extremely hostile, even ones natually passive. The substance from inside the first floor of SCP-XXXX has spread, nothing has been able to stop it. It is covering the ground and flora.

The flora covered with the unknown substance within SCP-XXXX has caused it to slowly decay, though the plants still seem to be alive. Possibly the reason for the fauna's extreme hostility.

The second level of SCP-XXXX has been opened. There is considerably less substance growing on the second floor, though it is still there.

Update 11/14/█████

The parasite growing within SCP-XXXX detailed in Research Log #, has now been combated with the Itea Luyeum solution. Further exploration will commence. It is now confirmed there are at least two entities residing within SCP-XXXX. We have not sighted them as of now. We do

Site Command: Remember, we will have no eyes on your location within the tower, there's something blocking the scanners. The tower's architect changes past room three, in which we believe is the result of there being no doors past room three.

Entry 1) Firstly, I am Divhme, advisory of the Western Approach, on our journey past Ferden towards the evidence of ley line. We are nearing the ancestral home of the Draekins, whom long since been alive.

Entry 62) Excavations continue, with pleasant results. We were surprised to find several ley line connections beyond our knowledge, further results suggest a link between another world…

Reports that the Western Approach have recruited the nearby villages. A treaty with Haredel will soon

Entry 572) We have gained the trust of the people of Haredel, gaining knowledge on the layout of the unknown land.

Entry 1208) Ferden still stands. While we gather for a feast, Vorius' army manages to protect the village from intruders. The destruction of Haredal has caused a collapse of the outer villages, hopefully it will stabilize.

Entry 1544) This page is scribbled, contrast to the perfect calligraphy of the other entries.

They've been lying this entire time…. there's thousands of them!
there are whispers of plans of a creation… doctors and apothecaries were hired and/or forced.. I sense a strong energy, it gives me great dread.

Entry 2013) Enemy forces took us completely by surprise, and have trapped us within my own tower. A seal has been set on the outer walls, keeping them out, but keeping us inside. I have a plan to move the tower, I don't know how, but if the ley line hasn't been completely abused, it might work.

Day 9

We have been notified that Haredel has fallen under siege. The series of attacks are getting closer and closer, the enemy has no remorse.

I will try to keep this journal update.

Day 12

Many of the residents of Ferden have fled. Some attempted to venture farther west, into the unknown land. They never made it. All have been slaughtered before they've even reached the canyons.

Many went north to seek refuge in the neutral countries. They were slain too, the enemy is surrounding us. Insane, I know, there is a whisper Divhme is returning, I can only hope.

Last I heard they made it to Gatze Isle. We lost contact with them after that.

Divhme…. could he really save us all?

Day 19

Our time was always limited within Ferden. Now that Divhme has arrived with the Western Approach, we are going to evacuated everyone towards Zaraknah, though there are many cities along the way.

Jarok promises that the Western Approach is here to stay, protecting the innocent, I know what he says is true, but will we survive to see it?

Day 20

Ferden has fallen, Haredel is now the enemies capital, we don't have a plan of action. The enemy is stronger than we could have expected, and they seem to know everything we're going to do.

Day 27

They snuck into our encampment and murdered a quarter of us before we could flee. How could we have not heard them?

Day 36

I have been misled this entire time! The Western Approach was never working for our interest, they've enslaved thousands to work for them, I cannot believe my own eyes. It was under our nose this entire time!

I have fallen into enemy hands after a sideswipe from the enemy, the Western Approach, Divhme is leading the remaining amount of residents into Zaraknah, his tower, I guess I'll never be able to see the wonders it holds.

On another note, they're forcing us to begin building the barracks today, a small medical center tomorrow.

Day 52

One of the army captains, Veddar, arrived today. He forced us all into the medical center to get checked out. I have made a few friends, Morie and Jacob. They were farmers from a small village near Haredel.

Day 56

They're building something in the center of the village, but the wall is blocking the view. I don't know what's being constructed, but it doesn't sound good.

Day 60

People are starting to disappear, Morie said someone in their group disappeared overnight

Day 52

Morie is now missing, Jacob says half of his group is gone, the entirety of group 15 is missing.

Day 60

Something happened to Jacob, there are apothecaries and doctors showing up from every parts of the world, I wonder why.

Day 61

A strange turn of events today, the village was attacked by a unknown force. It killed a lot of the guards, but none of the prisoners. We still cannot escape though.

Day 62

Apothecary Readon was dragged away by Veddar's guards. He was yelling and screaming that the would have Veddar's head for this. Who is he talking about?

Day 63

Half of my group is gone, I fear I am next in line. I have no idea what they've done or made in the center of the village. What ever it is, it's gotta be something to do with the missing people.

There's screaming coming from the center though, a smell of flesh that will not go away.

I snuck out and peaked into the center, they've created something, something so horrendous, it looks to be sewn together by the flesh of my very own friends, yet it cries out for its own death, but it still stands, working for the Approach.

This will most likely my last report in the journal.

<The name is faded and illegible>

The terror of these past few weeks has been completely unrivaled; why is it that by writing words into this book I can somehow keep the madness at bay? Freeing my mind of these tortured thoughts and confining them to paper. I began a journal before this one, but it remains in a place to which I cannot return. So I will start afresh. But this time, I will start from the true beginning.

It began with the finding of that ley line within that forest, I knew I shouldn't have been there, but the expanse just kept moving. Yes, that was the start of it. Before that, Jarok was happy with our progress in Ferden. Before the finding of the leyline, the terrors of this place seemed tamed compared to the horrors happening north.

But ever since I found the ley line, and, curse me, shared it with the Approach, Ferden became a place of death!

If I had known what would happen, I would have just killed myself before I'd report it. So many regrets! Now the ley line is being abused, for a vile creation they've been working on. I haven't seen it, but they captured villagers to work on it.

With the abuse of the ley line, a change rippled through the village. Light from our flickering torches warped, and the strength of our voices seemed beyond our control. Unnerving, yes, but we did not have long to wonder at this strangeness.

Before we knew it They came at us from everywhere, the smell of rotting flesh, the mammoth of a creation before us. The rest, including myself, tried to flee. I saw my fellow members collapse to my left and right, as I was running. For all I know, I am the only human to escape that place.

That is the next chapter of my tale, and I pray it is the last…

After surviving the attack, I hid within a small shack, near a small house. I stayed at the shack for a few days. After a few days I noticed the houses weren't absent, a small family lived there. I did not greet them, but they seemed like good people.

A few days after I arrived at the barn, the father left his farm for Haredel, unknowing of the overthrown government. He kissed his wife and smiled to his children and promised to return soon with gifts and food. The poor man. That was the last time he saw his family unmutilated. They parted happily. And at least his wife was the first to die, and was freed from seeing the slaughter of her children. But that does nothing for me. I saw what happened, and it will ever haunt my dreams.

My hand trembles as I recall the details of that night, when the father was away and his family was doomed to face the ghouls of the western approach alone. Again regret claws at me, for I was there and could have protected that innocent family, but it is a false regret. It is the same that plagues any survivor of a tragedy. I know that, had I left my place of hiding I too would have been killed, my body ripped and torn, and my pieces thrown into the entity the doctors have made to work for them.

But, even though I know I could have done nothing to stop this heinous murder, one true regret does remain: I brought them to their farm. My discovery of the ley lines not only unleashed a thought-to-be-ally faction, into their true colors, but also fed the creation of a monster no man should ever have to witness.

One of them shrieked in a voice both harsh and shrill, like the grinding of an axe on stone. Dread grasped me when I heard him, awaking me in the dead of night. I was what they searched for! And I was what would kill the family.

I never learned the name of this family, I only watched it from afar, the closest they ever came to me was to gather the tools around the shed to work their farm. I should have stepped out and greeted them, I should have just left, I should have picked a different direction to run.

"The doctor?" she said in a calm voice. "Yes, I know him. He came by not long ago." She had said to the monsters calmly, and it was so justified in tone, no one would have thought otherwise. Except there was no way she knew of me, I never greeted the family. Still though, her lie paid off at first. They questioned her which direction and a location I could have possibly gone too. She named a non-existing village, and offered the following.

"I'll take you. All of you," she said, keeping a straight face.

"But it is quiet far, and if you're in a hurry, I will have to leave my kids here."

Her trick was simple, but simple tricks have the best hope of success. She would be lost, but her children would be safe. And it would work, if only they believed her noble lies.

Although I have never been a religions person, I prayed fiercely for the wife as she stood against those terrible abominations of humans. "Please," I prayed. "Let them believe."

They glared and she met their gazes calmly. Then one of them drew from his robe a small gem and peered into it. He then gestured it toward the wife. She stared into the gem, unflinching, but I could see uncertainty behind her mask of confidence. When his hands reached her, it spread its fingers over her head.

And squeezed.

Her eyes grew wide. And although her lips pulled back to mouth a scream, no sound escaped. After a few moments of this torture the hand released her, dropping her to her knees.

"This woman lies," it said in a voice that has scarred my dreams. "She has not seen him."

Their shoulders stooped slightly, as if they'd lost all hope. And then in a quiet hushed voice he spoke,

"The Lord has spoken. Kill them."

I cannot describe what happened next.

I can only write that the family was killed. And soon after, the father returned to this deathly scene. Such grief was in him, and I was still afraid to show myself to him. So afraid in fact, I fled from my spot. I do not know where he is now, but I hope, some day, he will find peace.

I spent the next few weeks moving from place to place. I am now in a abandoned town near Hardel, Havenwood. I cannot face whatever power they used against the wife, and I know it searches for me. All is lost to me, and I am thankful for this, for they cannot destroy anything else except me. Even now, I know in my heart that I will be found.

I'm so tired of running.

…most magnificent infection, embedding itself deep within living tissue. Extremely contagious when <several words are smudged>. Today's tests confirm it is spreads to anything biological in origin, though slowly if there is no fresh solution in play. Tarry, my "companion", accidentally presented the effects of a active solution coming in contact with a living being, the results show <a greenish stains the remainder of the paragraph.> Research progresses slowly. I have a idea to make the solution degrade incredibly slow, in fact, it could last forever, slowly spreading.

[SECOND NOTE]

We have success, the parasite now causes a slow decay in which living entities will <the words are covered doodles>. The Western Approach has hired me to join them, along with my fellow acquaintances. I don't know the exact details of our job, but <the words fade, with only a few clear letters>. I shall take my new project along, they claimed to have "great value" for it, though I won't give it away without a fair price. [THIRD NOTE]

I have arrived at the Western Approach's overlook site, there seems to be a confusion between me and the leader, I thought they were the good people, except what I'm being task to made is the very opposite… I will still make it of course, that being <the hand writing has degraded into scribbles>.

My solution will be applied to the creation, allowing it to thrive forever, I hope, there is one antidote to the parasite though, grown only from the <scribbled over by small horrible artwork>. I believe it grows there as a result of the nearby <the rest of the page is ripped off.>

We have success, the solution works, the project has been completed. It was very hard to hear my fellow workers past the screams, but everything worked out. I have been paid so much I could buy Divhme's stupid castle four times over. The Western Approach is moving, well, western. I hear they plan on destroying some capital and using my solution to make more. Not that I really care now, I shall be heading on my way east, where I can relaxed for the rest of my life.
