Item #: SCP-3917
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Site requires two frequency emitters playing tones changing between 14k and 22k Hz. No patterns or composition has been added, simply playing sporadic notes with no melody, and an extremely basic pattern. SCP-3917 requires drainage of waste product and tissue on tri weekly basis. In case of site lockdown, it has been theorized this could be extended out to four weeks. However Class D personnel will suffer erosion of their physical state, as amputation up to ankle may required.
Two personnel are required for the cleaning process, equipped standard Class 3 Biohazard suits and with ear muffs to prevent permanent damage in hearing, as the frequencies are no longer allowed to stop in any circumstance with individuals present on site. Ensuring that collection of waste does not accumulate near frequency emitters is vital, as erosion of emitters could lead to further extension of onsite resources required to repair the instruments. Diet for SCP-3917 is self supplied.
12 hours after the cleaning process, the site is to turn off the frequency emitters for 45 minutes to allow SCP-3917 to allow muscles to recover from distress and exude all bile collecting in its body. This bile is extremely acidic to any [[organic]] life form, although seems to have zero effect on any [[non organic]] structure.
Do not under any circumstance unless in case of total site purge, allow organic contact with the substance for at least 2 weeks and approx 4 days. The bile will distribute evenly across the living space, and act as a sort of feeding ground for raw tissues and occasional fungi. Research Center ████ has all required samples from both the fungi and tissues, so proceed with inceriation unless contacted by Research Center ████.
Description: SCP-3917 is a humanoid standing at 2.2 metres. The head is a gelatinous construction that is usually transparent. As the rest of the head is featureless, it has been assumed that it sees and hears its surroundings by way of how light and sound passes through its head as it reacts to light and sound stimuli. It can be theorized that this operates as a form of █████████. Layers of biofilm are observable floating inside the head.
Collection of this biofilm has shown a process of self promoted evolution, in which the head operates as a genetic breeding ground for new bacteria. Most of this biofilm is producing a genetic variant of Yersinia Pestis, with a system of spores and has grown as fungi in exuded body bile, though this is rare and mostly operates closely to the normal Yersinia Pestis. The rapid growth and evolution is halted by extreme frequencies, which cause the gelatinous head to harden into a skull like formation, freezing the biofilm and in hindering the growth by an estimated ███%.
The muscles that are the rest of the body are common human muscles, they are female in construction, but have no space for human organs. A human skeleton is likely to exist only as a spine, with little undeveloped bones branching off that. The frequencies are also noted to cause the rest of the body to spasm on occasion.
It is theorized that due because the biofilm acts as a neural hub for SCP-3917, this is simply a case of rigor mortis stiffening tendons and muscles in random directions. SCP-3917 is allowed to rest with no frequency emitters for small amounts of time as often jerking its muscles in random directions causes massive internal leakage, exuding pus and body fluids of ███████, further indicating a state of fungal colonization. This also allows it to exude any excess growth of biolayer as noted in the SPC.
Addendum: Whilst the room was being cleaned, one personnel began intensely staring into SCP-3917's hardened skull formation. After 13.2 seconds of this behavior he began crying and began to tear apart one of the frequency emitters. The resulting electrical shock killed him shortly after. The other personnel left in the room stared into SCP-3917's now visible biofilm layer for 12 minutes until evacuation. Despite no breach in the containment suit or physical contact with SCP-3917, the subject had Yersinia Pestis inside of his system along with a tumour growing inside of his brain.
The tumour was especially unusual in how it was in a rather mature state and ended up being the ultimate source of lethality. The subject's hands, feet, and some parts of his face were turned black, a cause of the Yersinia Pestis. The body was transferred to ████ for further study. The frequency emitters are now mounted into the wall encased by standard Class 3 glass holding.
Studying the body of the first rogue personnel reveals that his brain was also under significant tumour growth in almost every region of his brain. Intriguing is that these tumours are all at different stages of maturity, and there appears some degree of precision in how they targeted the brain. The temporal lobe, and occipital lobe saw absolutely no growth in tumours. The hippocampus and amygdala are almost non existent, entirely corroded by the growth of T4 N3 M1 tumours. The frontal lobe seems partially damaged by growth, though there appears no points of origin in the frontal lobe, there was no effort in sparing it like there was in the occipital or temporal lobes.
The rest of the brain is only populated by a small number of T1, unnurtured tumours which would seem moot to the purpose of forcing an individual to act violently. The ultimate decision to simply allow the frequency to play while the living space is being cleaned was decided upon, and letting the unfortunate accident occur from muscle spasms rather any tumour "brain control." Dr. █████████ has made a vocal denunciation of the prospect that the tumours were for brain control and wished it to be included in this report.
Onsite personal have requested permission to harmonize tones in a hypothesis that would regulate SCP-3917 in better fashions. The idea being that if tones emitted were synthesized between 12k[!] and 16k, allowing the biofilm to temporarily "breathe," the process of rigor mortis could stop muscle spasms. This could in time, lead to a "symphony" [all quotes come from onsite level 2 caretakers] that would allow you to control the movements of SCP-3917. This is deemed as unnecessary and variable by Dr. █████████.
Possibly as a form of protest in allowing sound to escape the room at 20% volume, onsite caretakers have been noted to whistle selections from the random notes coming out the frequency emitters. Upon confrontation, personnel fake unawareness of their doing so. Dr. █████████ formally requests for a more "mature" personnel to assist him.
