Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is held in a 7*5*7 meter room within a 5*3*5 cm box padded with industrial-grade shock-absorbing foam. The box is only opened for testing with clearance from a senior researcher or higher. SCP-XXX is strictly prohibited from being run on any computational device other than approved hardware created explicitly for the prolonged containment of its effects. SCP-XXX is authorized to run on a single core Intel processor with an integrated graphics card plugged into a standard office monitor. The memory needed to run SCP-XXX is located on an isolated server powered by a remotely controlled generator. As of █/██/20██, previous containment procedures are no longer relevant. SCP-XXX's containment chamber is not to be entered under any circumstances. Doing so can lead to demotion and possible termination.

Any and all elements lost to SCP-XXX are to be deemed MIA. Unrelated personnel claiming to have knowledge of sensitive information regarding the SCP Foundation are to be detained and given Class-B amnestics before being placed on a 7-day quarantine. If the memetic effects of SCP-XXX are retained after the quarantine period has expired, they are to be terminated.

Description: SCP-XXX is a computer software under the title "ProsEngin.exe". The only remaining copy of SCP-XXX is situated on a standard foundation monitor inside of Site-19. Upon activation, SCP-XXX will create a short phrase, limited to the ASCII lexicon, that correlates to past experiences held by the actuator, often resulting in the materialization subconscious fears. When a returning user activates SCP-XXX, the same phrase will appear regardless of future events experienced by the user. Approximately 15 seconds after the activation of the program, SCP-XXX will begin to morph space in a 2.5m radius around its center of mass to fit the actuator's understanding of their respective phrase. The amplitude of SCP-XXX's influence is unknown, however, testing has shown it has the ability to:

  • Manipulate vectors
  • Reconstruct reality
  • Deconstruct all forms of information
  • Conceptualize the abstract and surreal

Once activated, SCP-XXX can only be deactivated via the user verbally stating they are finished using the program or through the termination of the user. SCP-XXX was originally stored on a dual-layered, single-sided DVD with a maximum storage capacity of approximately 7.3 petabytes prior to Incident XXXX. Efforts to recreate the compression methods used on the DVD have been unsuccessful.

As of █/██/20██, testing has been suspended indefinitely under the Site Director's orders. (See [REDACTED] for further details.)

Addendum XXXX.1: On █/██/20██, a routine maintenance test was performed on SCP-XXX by D-634122. During the test, SCP-XXX activated on its own leading to Incident XXXX.

After the arrival of MTF Epsilon-11, SCP-XXX was discovered displaying the phrase "Does the Black Moon Howl?" Every 30 minutes, SCP-XXX will alternate between the phrase and a blue screen with text stating engine, prose (written from right to left), and moving? that encompass two 8-bit mono-chromatic columns.
