Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX’s effects are logistically uncontainible.
SCP-XXX's is held in a 7*5*7 meter room. As of █/██/20██, previous containment procedures are no longer relevant. SCP-XXX's containment chamber is not to be entered under any circumstances. Doing so can lead to demotion and possible termination.
Any and all elements lost to SCP-XXX are to be deemed MIA. Unrelated personnel claiming to have knowledge of sensitive information regarding the SCP Foundation are to be detained and given Class-B amnestics before being placed on a 7-day quarantine. If classified knowledge above their level on The SCP Foundation is retained after the quarantine period has expired, they are to be terminated.
Image displayed by SCP-XXX during Incident XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXX is a computer software under the title "ProsEngin.exe". The only remaining copy of SCP-XXX is situated on a standard foundation monitor inside of Site-19. Upon activation, SCP-XXX will create a short phrase, limited to the ASCII lexicon, that correlates to past experiences held by the actuator, often resulting in the materialization subconscious fears. When a returning user activates SCP-XXX, the same phrase will appear regardless of future events experienced by the user. Approximately 15 seconds after the activation of the program, SCP-XXX will begin to morph space to fit the actuator's understanding of their respective phrase. The amplitude of SCP-XXX's influence is unknown, however, testing has shown it has the ability to:
- Manipulate vectors
- Reconstruct reality
- Deconstruct all forms of information
- Conceptualize the abstract and surreal
Once activated, SCP-XXX can only be deactivated via the user verbally stating they are finished using the program or through the termination of the user. SCP-XXX was originally stored on a dual-layered, single-sided DVD with a maximum storage capacity of approximately 7.3 petabytes prior to Incident XXXX. Efforts to recreate the compression methods used on the DVD have been unsuccessful.
As of █/██/20██, testing has been suspended indefinitely under the Site Director's orders. (See Addendum XXXX.2 for further details.)
Addendum XXXX.1: On █/██/20██, a routine maintenance test was performed on SCP-XXX by D-634122. During the test, SCP-XXX activated on its own leading to Incident XXXX.
[Begin Log]
…
[00:03] D-634122 enters the containment chamber and inserts SCP-XXX into the computer.
[00:14] SCP-XXX's monitor is turned on.
[00:34] The phrase "Do you really think worlds stop that easily?" is displayed on the monitor. D-634122 is visibly shocked. Personnel located at the observation deck cut power to SCP-XXX's chambers. SCP-XXX remains active.
[00:49] SCP-XXX begins to warp the room around it. The SCP Foundation insignia is shown to be fragmented inside of a pillar of light which gradually grows brighter until it reaches a maximum of ███████ lums. D-634122 is obstructed by the light.
[01:28] The affected area is completely obstructed by the light.
[02:02] Light begins to fade.
[02:22] Monitor is now visible. D-634122 is nowhere to be seen.
[02:38] SCP-XXX displays the phrase "a reality our world was not meant to comprehend"
[03:39] SCP-XXX materializes a version of D-634122 with specimens of Dianthus caryophyllus growing out of his abdomen, leaving an opening inside of D-634122’s chest. Note: D-634122 had no previous significant encounters with floral plant life up until his termination.
[03:50] D-634122 exits out of SCP-XXX effective range and begins to entangle the cameras inside of the containment chamber with stems that emerged from its abdominal opening.
[03:55] Cameras located in the observation deck show the tendrils coming out of D-634122 contacting the iron alloy casing of SCP-XXX's server. D-634122's tendrils burn while in contact with the server. No damage is done to the monitor of SCP-XXX.
[04:01] Site Security enters the containment chamber. D-634122 is terminated via 4 rounds to his head. Agent ████ attempts to destroy SCP-XXX's processor. SCP-XXX remains functional.
[04:05] SCP-XXX begins to construct the phrase "█w███████████████████H███e███████n,██d███████████O███████████ ████████████████████e███ █████████s██T█████████h███████e████████████████s█████████u████████ █████r█R█████████e█a███████████████████L█████,█b███e████████████████ c██O█████████████████████████████m████e███,█████r█████████e███a██████ ████████████████████████L█████████ ███████████?" at a rate of 44 characters per minute. All attempts to shut down SCP-XXX have been ineffective.
[06:55] SCP-XXX's processor is successfully disconnected. It continues to function normally.
[09:16] Explosives are detonated in an attempt to destroy SCP-XXX. The monitor SCP-XXX runs on showed no signs of damage. All other components of SCP-XXX, including the original DVD, were destroyed.
[11:49] Construction of the phrase is completed.
[11:55] [DATA CORRUPTED]
[12:02] Camera feed is cut off. All electronics in the facility are disabled.
…
[End Log]
Shortly after, a site-wide containment breach, caused by the sudden power surge created by SCP-XXX, occurred resulting in the deaths of 43 Foundation members.
After the arrival of MTF Epsilon-11, SCP-XXX was discovered displaying the phrase "Does the Black Moon Howl?" Every 30 minutes, SCP-XXX will alternate between the phrase and a blue screen with text stating engine, prose (written from right to left), and moving? that encompass two 8-bit mono-chromatic columns.
Personnel active during Incident XXXX subconsciously had complete knowledge of the SCP Foundation including the identity of all current and previous O-5 members and Administrators. Class-A amnestics were distributed site-wide in an effort to purge the sensitive information.

| As of █/██/20██, SCP-XXX is perceiving The SCP Foundation as its user and is effectively impossible to contain. Ever since Incident XXXX, the monitor running ProsEngin.exe is immune to damage what so ever. We don't know the details of what happened after the second phrase was constructed, only that there was a massive data breach afterwards. I believe the reason D-634122 was able to break through SCP-XXX's area of effect was not that he was particularly powerful, but that SCP-XXX has no limit to its range. Who knows what might happen if the loop is broken? I request all testing to be halted. Under no circumstance is anyone to disrupt SCP-XXX in any way. For the future of the Foundation, I hope I am wrong. However, if I'm not, SCP-XXX's influence may have already spread throughout the world. |
