Glass "infection"
rating: 0+x

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: All instances of SCP-XXXX are to be contained within a standard climate controlled facility for inanimate objects (currently site-60). All instances are to be kept out of a line-of-sight with any non-instance glass. Ambient temperature is not to fall below (some temp) centigrade.

SCP-XXXX-2 is to be kept in a standard humanoid containment cell, constructed entirely of materials not containing silicon. Any requested materials may be granted given head researcher permission, so long as silicon is absent.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a phenomenon affecting panes of commercial silicate glass. All instances of SCP-XXXX will visually reflect instances of SCP-XXXX-1 while below (a certain temperature) centigrade. Any silicate glass observed through an instance of SCP-XXXX will become itself a new instance of SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX-1 are large reptiles of a canid-like physiology. Instances are observed to breathe, but no aerodynamic disturbances have been observed where instance would be in local environment. Instances have large, serrated teeth, a hood similar to, but wider than, that of Ophiophagus Hannah. These creatures are observed to have territorial altercations on occasion, almost exclusively resulting in the death of one party, and the cannibalization of the losing individual(s).

SCP-XXXX-2, referred to as subject, is a human male, approximately 80 years old, who has some sort of relationship with the SCP-XXXX-1 instances. Subject has been noted creating glass from compounds containing sufficient silicon, through which further instances of SCP-XXXX-1 instances have attempted to break containment. Other anomalous properties of subject have not been observed as of yet.

Test Logs:

Further research pending, on account of Dr. P███████████'s deferral to site-██.

Recovery: Instances of SCP-XXXX were first brought into containment when individuals in █████ █████, ██ Canada were admitted to the hospital with wounds resembling those of dog attacks. While under investigation, no signs of dogs of any kind were found, and foundation personnelle were notified. Victims sighted "hooded drakes" as the cause of these attacks, which was corroborated by individuals living in the █████████████████████ area. Soon after notification, the foundation became aware of SCP-XXXX-1 instances, and determined within 3 days the cause to be SCP-XXXX instances found throughout the houses of the area. All such instances were replaced with similar, unaffectable materials, and residents administered amnestics. Before amnesticization, one victim of an attack relayed that they had befriended one of the creatures. Reportedly, the Instance that was befriended suffered a loss in a territorial dispute, being seen dead by the victim. Victim used a small window to find the second party, and attacked, resulting in a counter attack, and the wounds, bringing about hospitalization.
