Item#: SCP-LVAC
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-LVAC is housed in an ordinary aviary in Area-72.
SCP-LVAC is fed 120 brass casings from rounds of .30 caliber or lower twice daily. 5.56x45mm NATO casings are preferred. Do not feed SCP-LVAC steel casings.
Droppings from SCP-LVAC are cleared out of its aviary daily and stored in the Area-72 armory.
Description: SCP-LVAC is a steel olive green ammo box. The only discernible markings on the box are two identical silhouettes of what appears to be a goose or crane in mid flight spray-painted in yellow on both sides of the box.
SCP-LVAC is fully sentient, displaying behavior and vocalizations closely resembling that of Columba livia. SCP-LVAC is generally friendly to all Foundation personnel, often attempting to initiate play with cleaning staff. SCP-LVAC is fully capable of flight, though the mechanism for this is unknown.
SCP-LVAC feeds solely on spent bullet casings. If SCP-LVAC is overfed, fed casings of a larger caliber than .30, or fed steel casings, it will display nausea-like symptoms and regurgitate a mixture of gunpowder, lead shavings, and brass shavings.
SCP-LVACs droppings consists of live full metal jacketed rounds of the same caliber of the casings it has been fed. How the gunpowder and material for the bullets are generated and the primers replaced is unknown.
Addendum LVAC-1: On 12/24/2018, cleaning staff noted that SCP-LVACs behavior had deviated from its usually playful demeanor to being much more somber. This is hypothesized to be caused by its constant isolation.
Acquisition of three Columba livia to introduce into SCP-LVACs aviary is currently in progress.
