Hobby-wise, I enjoy writing fiction I don’t post, gardening, and fountain pens. I do journaling, try to train my cats to walk on a leash (it’s going oh so great), and I love decorating anything and everything. I will decorate people if they hold still long enough. Professional interests are clinical writing, nutrition, additive manufacturing (hol’up, right?), diabetes prevention, and sciences education. I’ve worn a lot of educational hats and changed careers twice, but I’m pretty happy where I am: a total nerd hiding amongst the soccer moms in clinical nutrition. One day I will go back to school and do a degree in this field so I can actually educate patients in it instead of the obscenely complex job I do now I will not divulge without threats of baked goods.

When one attempts to make contact with the [DATA EXPUNGED] hand [DELETE] it behaves as though it is an incorporeal entity: solids pass straight through SCP-XXXX-1. However, when it perceives a threat to SCP-XXXX, instances of SCP-XXXX-1 will solidify and attack, harass, threaten, and [DATA EXPUNGED] make rude gestures [DELETE] at anyone who approaches SCP-XXXX.

[REDACTED] in case files, was mentioned as having “anger management issues,” and “a hair-trigger temper.” Interviews with the victim’s family and friends state that they never liked the accused, and that he was a “[EXPLETIVE EXPUNGED] home wrecker” with a long criminal history.

During its intake interview, SCP-XXXX refused to discuss the incident that brought it to the attention of the SCP Foundation, its criminal record, or the death of its husband at its hands. Unexpected Annoyances About Doing This Writing Thing

• Being in multiple head spaces at the same time.
  • Hear me out, me. You’ve got 2 main characters to develop here. You’ve got this poor fucker, SCP-whateverthefuck, and you’re just figuring out his anomalous shit as you go, because you’re a “make it up or die trying” type. And then there’s Dr. Childs. You already know exactly how you want him to be, even if you aren’t settled on the name. Meticulous. Exacting. Thorough. Lots of things that are hard to be.
  • And you have to be in his head space while you write this, and see this through his eyes. What can your fucking SCP do? What is it just now opening up to you about at Site-19? Why you, and not everybody else? What makes you so fucking special to it, dude?
  • Furthermore, how do you, the researcher, want to convey your findings to your colleagues and supervisors should they have to read about poor little David? That poor fuck, who can’t even exist without fucking it up? You don’t feel sorry for it. You’re not angry about it or at it. Why not? You aren’t Gears. You process emotion just fine, you have no trouble expressing it when it’s needed.
• Then there’s the other two. The agent and the inferior researcher. Insignificant to you, maybe, but their points of view still matter because they began the story. The ‘lunch lady’ might have reported it, but this is really where the trouble all begins. It’s with these two and their petty fucking arguments and trying to lay the blame when they should have been focusing on containment procedures instead. They make the Foundation look bad. Can’t let that stand, can we?

SCP-XXXX: To what end?
Dr. Childs: I don’t follow.

SCP-XXXX: What’s the point of discussing it? It’s going to happen again, no matter what you people do. There’s no escaping any of it: the abuse, the neglect, it’s like everyone I meet is destined to be a dick to me!
Dr. Childs: That must be incredibly frustrating.

SCP-XXXX: You’ve got no idea, man. My own husband abused me. My parents. His parents. Our friends. And then I get arrested, and the cops are dicks too. Once I got sent to the other place I thought I might be safe for once, but no! Turns out the staff over there were just as bad.
Dr. Childs: I’m not sure there’s an adjective to adequately describe what you’ve been through. I’ve several reports here stating that you were repeatedly starved by staff.

SCP-XXXX: Once or twice. Then they’d play it off like I was trying to escape and it was all my fault. I’ve never once tried to get out of here, not once!

Dr. Childs: My job is to make sure you are safe. Have you noticed if there is a particular distance at which you are safe from others?

Dr. Childs: Hmm. We’ll begin with determining if there is some range or time limit at which the effects take hold. I want to make certain we’re doing everything in our power to protect you.

Dr. Childs: I think I’ll order a psych evaluation as well, to make certain we have the correct baseline readings and see if anything has changed from your previous intake.
