UnrulyChild’s Personal Hell

I can’t believe I let a How-To page talk me into this. It was hella convincing. Wish I knew who wrote it because they were like, “YOU CAN DO IT AND THINKING YOU CAN’T ISN’T A REASON NOT TO.”

Yeah, I’m talking to myself. Haha, hi. Click through to get to know me.

24601This is just me trying to get the hang of this. You bet your ass I’m going to put a hundred tabs here just because the directions said to use tabs. So. Uh. Yeah. Hi, you don’t know me. I don’t know you. I’m UnrulyChild. ‘UC’ is fine. Sometimes I write things for a living. Sometimes I work in healthcare for a living. Right now I’m furloughed and honestly I’m loving it. I’m just. You know… kind of bored? If you want to talk, you can send me a message here if that’s possible, or like, Skype me? My Skype thing is long and dumb, but it’s live:.cid.bf1e80eb56e4cad

Hobby-wise, I enjoy writing fiction I don’t post, gardening, and fountain pens. I do journaling, try to train my cats to walk on a leash (it’s going oh so great), and I love decorating anything and everything. I will decorate people if they hold still long enough. Professional interests are clinical writing, nutrition, additive manufacturing (hol’up, right?), diabetes prevention, and sciences education. I’ve worn a lot of educational hats and changed careers twice, but I’m pretty happy where I am: a total nerd hiding amongst the soccer moms in clinical nutrition. One day I will go back to school and do a degree in this field so I can actually educate patients in it instead of the obscenely complex job I do now I will not divulge without threats of baked goods.

OH! You wanted actual writing!

I’ll update this every time I update it in Word. Bear with me while I learn formatting and shit. I am crap at codes until I learn them and then I’ll never forget. This is gonna be slow as fuck. See a ?? by a name or a [bolded comment?] It’s just something I need to come back to. I would love feedback, so please see above for how to get a hold of me!

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid Probably Euclid. I feel like it’s a Euclid.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be wholly contained in the memories of a single staff member with the clearance level of 4/XXXX. For the safety of SCP-XXXX, no one else is to remember its existence. Staff involved in its daily care are to be told they are providing care for another SCP. No one but the head researcher, Dr. ?? may speak to it. Upon exiting its chamber, all staff are to be amnestitized [entertaining: I’ve read this word dozens of times but can never remember how to spell it!]. It is to be housed in a standard humanoid containment chamber and allowed access to books, cable television, and Netflix. It is not allowed to leave containment without O5 authorization, even for testing.

Information regarding SCP-XXXX is to be contained in the memory of a single staff member with the clearance level of 4/XXXX, and this single document. No other copies are to be made. For the safety of SCP-XXXX, no one else is to remember its existence. Staff involved in its daily care are to be told they are providing care for another SCP. No one but the head researcher, Dr. Childs may speak to it. Upon exiting its chamber, all staff without Level 4/XXXX clearance are to be administered a Class ?? amnestic. [Note: I don’t know how these work, time to go digging.] It is to be housed in a standard humanoid containment chamber and allowed access to books, cable television, and Netflix. It is not allowed to leave containment without O5 authorization, even for testing.

SCP-XXXX may leave it’s room for testing with prior approval from the Site Director, Dr. Childs, and the Site Security Chief. All hallways along its path are to be cleared of personnel and SCPs, and windows covered.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 35 years old human male. It is 1.75m tall and weighs 68kg. Over its entire body are a network of scars, which turn green once they have healed. Scars exist from a lifetime of abuse SCP-XXXX claims were inflicted upon it by ‘everyone [I have] ever met.’ Persons who come into contact with SCP-XXXX become immediately hostile toward it, going so far as to attack it with the intent to kill it. Even the most polite, even-keeled of test subjects have responded poorly to SCP-XXXX, reacting with verbal abuse toward it. The effect is removed when the subject leaves SCP-XXXX’s field of effect, a radius of roughly 5m^2.

SCP-XXXX is a 35 years old human male. It is approximately 1.7m ± 0.05cm tall and weighs 68kg ± 0.1g. Even the most polite, even-keeled of test subjects have responded poorly to SCP-XXXX, reacting with a negative attitude or verbal abuse toward it. The effect is removed when the subject leaves SCP-XXXX’s field of effect, a radius of 5.5m^2 ± 0.05cm.

SCP-XXXX-1 is a [DATA EXPUNGED] bright green translucent hand [DELETE THIS IN FINAL COPY] that manifests from the green scars on SCP-XXXX’s body when SCP-XXXX enters a major depressive episode [not sure if I want to leave or redact tbh]. The entity varies in size from the average human hand to the height and width of the anterior wall of SCP-XXXX’s containment cell. When one attempts to make contact with the [DATA EXPUNGED] hand [DELETE] it behaves as though it is an incorporeal entity: solids pass straight through SCP-XXXX-1. However, when it perceives a threat to SCP-XXXX, instances of SCP-XXXX-1 will solidify and attack, harass, threaten, and [DATA EXPUNGED] make rude gestures [DELETE] at anyone who approaches SCP-XXXX.

Refer to Incident Log XXXX-###-##a for the events regarding the first manifestation of SCP-XXXX-1 instance in captivity.

Addendum 1: SCP-XXXX was originally contained at Site-17 and studied by a large research team. Conditions slowly worsened for SCP-XXXX (possibly slowed down by crowd? Perhaps afraid of peer judgement?), beginning with verbal abuse at the lowest level, progressing until it was being hidden by the highest levels of the team. When Nutrition realized staff had stopped delivering food trays to this patient and reported it, SCP-XXXX was moved to Site-11 with no update to containment procedures. After the events at Site-17 repeated, it was moved to Site-06-3, and then to Site-19 where its containment procedures were reviewed. Recommend containment procedures be reviewed at least annually. If we do not want SCPs to view us as monsters, we need to avoid acting like them. —Dr. Childs

Addendum 1 — 20/04/████ — Circumstances of Containment: On 30/03/████, SCP Foundation Agents in ██████, Ohio, United States, were alerted to local police reports of a man who allegedly beat his husband to death with a [REDACTED]. Friends of the accused stated that, “this ain’t the first time,” an incident of domestic violence between the couple had occurred. The accused, named David E. [REDACTED] in case files, was mentioned as having “anger management issues,” and “a hair-trigger temper.” Interviews with the victim’s family and friends state that they never liked the accused, and that he was a “[EXPLETIVE EXPUNGED] home wrecker” with a long criminal history.

During its intake interview, SCP-XXXX refused to discuss the incident that brought it to the attention of the SCP Foundation, its criminal record, or the death of its husband at its hands. It was not until it was brought to Site-19 that it began to speak out about the mistreatment experienced at the hands of its family, its husband, and the numerous staff members encountered in the years it has been held in Foundation custody.
