Still #21, Tape #██, ██:██:██, ██/██/19██; Footage taken from within SCP-XXXX.
ITEM #: SCP-XXXX
COLLOQUIAL NOMENCLATURE: "The Rainy Room"
ANOMALY CLASSIFICATION: Euclid
SCPECIAL CONTAINMENT PROCEEDURES:
THE FOLLOWING CONTAINMENT PROCEEDURES ARE TO BE PERFOMED IN ASCENDING ORDER. ANY FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION.
PHASE 0:
SCP -XXXX is to be attended by three personnel with Level-2 security clearance or higher, at least one of which must be a Researcher and at least one of which must a Field Agent, two Class-C personnel, and two Class-D personnel. Upon initial arrival at the surface epicenter of SCP - XXXX, the date, time, and identification of all seven personnel present is to be recorded. Upon final completion of exploration and before departure from the surface epicenter of SCP - XXXX, the date, time, and identification of all surviving members are to be recorded.
PROCEED TO PHASE I.
PHASE I:
The freight elevator, (which is to be used as transport between the surface epicenter of SCP - XXXX and SCP - XXXX - A) is to be, itself, contained within a gated and locked 3 meter, cubed, cage of 15.0 centimeter in diameter, cylindrical, steel bars spaced uniformly around the elevator. The cage is then to be electrified using a ███ Volt capacitor discharged at a rate of ██ Amps. It is only to be shut off to divert power to the elevator itself. This is to be done using an on-site pre-constructed work around, locked with a uniquely-commissioned tubular-style lock from ██████████ Co.
Once power has been diverted, one of the Class-D personnel is to unlock the gate to the cage and hold it open for the remaining personnel, as the gate was constructed to close and latch shut if no other force is applied to it. Once the remaining personnel have entered the elevator, the Class D personnel is to relock the gate from the inside.
The elevator, operated by a simple electrical switch, will descend to the lowest level of SCP-XXXX - A.
PROCEED TO PHASE II.
PHASE II:
SCP - XXXX is to be kept behind an electronically-locked door, that unlocks when two Field Agents insert and rotate clockwise two unique keys into terminals positioned on opposing sides of the final door leading to SCP - XXXX. At this point, the Field Agents are to enter two unique 10-digit codes, which reset weekly on ███████ at █████ , into the terminals. The door will remain unlocked until either : 1) a manual override is initiated from either of the two terminals or 2) at least of the two keys removed.
At this point, all Class-C and D personnel are to be outfitted with an audio-visual, remote-controlled, mobile camera, a standard issue flashlight, and Geographic Positioning System Device designed to aid in exploration and to be a two-way communication method from SCP – XXXX – A and themself. The remaining personnel are stay in SCP-XXXX – A. One-by-one, in ascending order, all personnel carrying equipment are to enter SCP-XXXX and maintain all equipment during exploration. The remaining personnel, will maintain communications and data-gathering equipment from within SCP-XXXX – A.
UPON COMPLETION OF EXPLORATION, THE ABOVE STEPS ARE TO BE PERFORMED IN REVERSE ORDER. FAILURE TO DO SO PROPERLY WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION.
ANOMALY DESCRIPTION:
Solid Rock Computed Tomography Scan of SCP -XXXX - A and surrounding area from surface epicenter taken on ██/██/19██.
Note: SCP - XXXX does not appear in this scan.
SCP - XXXX is located in the basement of an abandoned building(, designated as SCP-XXXX - A), which is, itself, located approximately 5.0 meters below ground-level within the [REDACTED] at ███████ degrees latitude and █████████ degrees longitude. The final door and surrounding wall which separates SCP- XXXX and SCP- XXXX - A has been reinforced with a 10.0 centimeter thick Chromium-Iron composite, containing a minimum of ████% chromium, for its anti-oxidation and anti-deterioration properties. Repeated Computerize Tomography imaging of the surface epicenter of SCP - XXXX - A do not show the existence of SCP - XXXX
SCP – XXXX is an apparently endless set of 3.5 meter tall, by 3.5 meter long, by 3.5 meter tall rooms. The walls are made from drywall plaster and brick, while the flooring is made from solid rock and concrete, and the ceiling is made from concrete. Random assortments of objects including, but not limited to, chairs, carpets, couches, wall-mounted air-conditioning units, and exposed pipes have been reported by numerous subjects exposed to SCP – XXXX.
While subjects have reported that SCP – XXXX contains light fixtures, the frequency of light fixtures has consistently varied based on subject and duration of exposure to SCP – XXXX. (For example, D-████ of Expedition #█ stated "It's so bright in here. There are lights everywhere," while C-████ of Expedition #███ stated "I have been in here for hours; where are all the lights?" (Excerpt from EXPLORATION DOCUMENT I) Furthermore, subjects consistently report the unending sound of rain regardless of the weather conditions experienced from the surface epicenter of SCP – XXXX – A or how long they have been exposed to SCP – XXXX.
Expedition #██ yielded that multiple subject entering SCP – XXXX within a short period of time cannot see each other (EXPLORATION DOCUMENT II). This concept includes the event when Personnel have [REDACTED]. It has been observed that Subjects who are exposed to SCP – XXXX for longer periods of time are more likely to experience symptoms consistent with those of [REDACTED], as outlined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, the most recent edition of which is the ███ edition (DSM-██). During Expedition #██, two class-D personnel were instructed to leave SCP - XXXX during a time window that would have placed both of them within the final doorway between SCP - XXXX and SCP - XXXX - A simultaneously. This resulted in [REDACTED].
Monitoring equipment used inside SCP - XXXX and SCP - XXXX- A have been reported to malfunction and receive signals that were not sent by either party. Personnel of varying class designation from Expeditions #█, ██, ██, ███ and ███ have reported this phenomenon (EXPLORATION DOCUMENT III).
