SCP-XXXX photographed relaxing in containment, █ ████ 2018
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is held in a standard feline containment unit at Site 20 outside of Tsurui, Japan. SCP-XXXX is to be provided with two cans of generic-brand wet cat food per 24 hours by machine dispensary. Under no circumstances should a human provide the wet cat food. Testing has proven water to be unnecessary to sustain the feline. SCP-XXXX is to be provided with a standard household cat playset and a cat bed; the containment unit is to be properly air conditioned at room temperature, and if SCP-XXXX shows signs of distress, a unit attendant will be dispatched to identify the issue and prevent further distress to SCP-XXXX. Currently, two attendants on an 8-hour rotating schedule will monitor SCP-XXXX through security cameras mounted within the containment unit; should either attendant show signs of emotional complacency with the feline, they are to be dismissed and administered low-level Class D amnestics to eliminate any emotional connection with the feline.
All test subjects who come into contact with SCP-XXXX are to have psychological assessments both prior to and following interaction with the entity. Subjects are not to bring any written material or literature into the feline containment unit without prior authorization from Researcher Callorann. If significant changes are identified in regards to the subject's mental health or free will, Class B amnestics are to be administered immediately, and that subject's testing is to be terminated.
"Stories" projected telepathically by SCP-XXXX are to be transcribed to the best of memory prior to any amnestic administration and placed in a display locker beside the containment cell at Site 20. All "stories" are to be given an alphanumerical designation following transcription. Personnel wishing to access these stories require written permission from Researcher Callorann.
Containment Procedure Update: Following Experiment Kami-3, all personnel entering SCP-XXXX's containment unit are to be sterilized prior to entry, and cleared of any insects, diseases, or ailments that otherwise could discomfort SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a common adolescent tabby cat with orange bodily markings and a white nose, neck, paws, and underside that utilizes telepathic storytelling to inflict anomalous linguistic conditions upon those to whom stories are "told." Upon being exposed to any form of literature or written material, SCP-XXXX will pace silently for a given period of time, ranging from 60 - 480 seconds, after which SCP-XXXX will approach the nearest human and attempt to lie in the human's lap. If the human is compliant, the human will become aware of a "voice," often described as reminiscent of a "Hollywood pirate." It is reported by test subjects that this "voice" engages a storytelling tone and describes a remixed version of the literature presented to SCP-XXXX. These stories are often complex, convoluted, and irregular in terms of plot and dialogue, although consistently contain references to books and literature previously examined. [See XXXX-A4 and XXXX-V7] Test subjects are often incorporated into the story in some form.
Following the storytelling event, subjects become unable to speak, write, or communicate any imperative sentences or requests other than demands for wet cat food. Sufferers of this anomalous linguistic condition are unaware that they are only giving commands and requests for cat food, and when prompted about their statements, subjects become irate and give no explanation as to why they require the feline cuisine. Subjects continue to respond to regular commands, however they will continuously request wet cat food.
The length, quality, content, and mood of each story depends highly on two factors: first, on the physical and emotional state of SCP-XXXX prior to exposure to literature; second, on the subject's emotional connection with the literature brought into testing. Stories conveyed by SCP-XXXX while it is distressed regularly involve offensive descriptions of the test subject's family relationships (if the subject is emotionally connected to the literature because of familial relationships), emotional hardships (if the subject is emotionally connected to the literature because of non-familial relationships), or taste in high-end fish (if the subject shares no emotional connection with the literature). Subjects are often particularly scrutinized for disliking breeds of white-meat fish such as Mahi-Mahi. While its history and a small amount of testing give credence to the feline's abilities, the origin and full extent of SCP-XXXX's apparent cognitive and telepathic abilities are currently unknown.
