Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: Object is to be kept inside of a locked firearm safe in a standard containment chamber in the Safe wing of Site 77. SCP-XXXX-2 must also be kept in a separate safe inside the chamber. Level-2 clearance or higher is required to obtain the safe codes.
The object produces a considerable amount of upward force when used, as a result standard firearms safety procedures should be in use when testing.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a handgun which model matches that of a Glock 17 chambered in 9x19mm, specifically, a first generation model from 1982. Any identifiers such as a serial number do not exist anywhere on the object. Inspection of both the internals and externals of the object indicate no abnormalities otherwise.
SCP-XXXX-2 appears to be a magazine fitted for a handgun matching the make and model of SCP-XXXX. When loaded into any matching firearm that is not SCP-XXXX, discharging the firearm produces no perceptible effect. As with SCP-XXXX, the object does not possess any abnormalities otherwise.
Loading SCP-XXXX with SCP-XXXX-2 and then discharging the firearm at a target will cause the target to be replaced with two other items related to the composition of the target. For instance, using SCP-XXXX on an orange yielded a glass jar of fructose sugar and a tube of Vitamin D3 supplements (See Test 01 for details). This effect is identical even if ammunition is present in SCP-XXXX-2 when SCP-XXXX is discharged.
SCP-XXXX, on the other hand, can still fire normally when standard 9x19mm ammunition is loaded. Even when not loaded with ammunition, the object still produces a large force similar to that of recoil on a firearm. The reason for this is unknown.
The object was found in █████████, West Virginia. The previous holder had found the object in a hole in the earth and had given it to the police because of the lack of serial number. He described the ditch as being a "perfect square" in the ground, and later investigation into the area corroborated this story, dimensions being a perfect 4x4x4 metre cube shaped hole in the ground. The local police were subsequently interviewed along with the finder by field agents, before being given amnestics. The site that the object was found in was filled in after being investigated.
Researcher: Dr. ███ ██████
Test 01
Subject: An orange (Citrus aurantium)
Procedure: SCP-XXXX was fired at the fruit.
Results: A small, clear glass jar filled with fructose sugar and a labeled plastic tube of Vitamin D3 supplements.
Comments by researcher: "The immediate connection both objects have to SCP-XXXX is that both contain (or are) substances that are highly present in the fruit's composition. However, the amount of each does not appear to necessarily correlate to the amount that is present in the fruit (Both are much higher concentrations in volume than those present in the orange) Further testing should be done, both on more organic objects as well as non-organic objects to compare the results."
Test 02
Subject: Standard cell phone (unpowered)
Procedure: SCP-XXXX was fired at the phone.
Results: A small processor and a phone battery (the battery was fully charged)
Comments by researcher: "It's evident that SCP-XXXX can disassemble mechanical objects as well as organic. I'm going to try and test more manufactured objects soon enough."
Test 03
Subject: A 7" action figure.
Procedure: SCP-XXXX was fired at the figure.
Results: A small chunk of ABS plastic and paint primer used for painting action figures.
Comments by researcher: "It's entirely possible that SCP-XXXX is pulling the objects it produces from somewhere since all of the objects produced are in a container of some kind and are usually branded; research into the stocks of local stores might be worth a try."
Test 04
Subject: Brown Rat (Rattus Norvegicus)
Procedure: SCP-XXXX was fired at the animal.
Results: A bottle of water and a small lump of carbon.
Comments by researcher: "We now know SCP-XXXX can disassemble living beings as well as inanimate objects. The concern on using the object on a human is the fact that we may well murder them if we try, but I'll see if I can get a D-Class on the job."
Test 05
Subject: Homo Sapien Male (D-Class)
Procedure: SCP-XXXX was fired at the human.
Results: A small polygonal burn on the abdominal region of the human. Several further attempts were made in different areas, but were stopped due to immense pain felt by the subject. Clothing worn by the subject was unaffected.
Comments by researcher: "This is odd. Of all the objects SCP-XXXX was used on, this one was the only that it didn't work on. The D-Class said that the burns hurt "more than anything he'd felt in his life", and we looked at his burns and the upper layers of his skin in the burn areas have completely disappeared. We measured the shape of the burns, and the dimensions proved that they were all perfect squares. Perhaps humans are an overload for the object? Furthermore, the clothing that the D-Class was wearing was completely undamaged, so we initially thought the object had no effect minus the pain."
