Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: [Paragraphs explaining the procedures]
Description: Essentially an object that explains the Chaos Insurgency's fluid lore. An SCP which creates a perfect "foil" when possessed that reveals weaknesses in an organizations/collective/group by altering reality to manifest said foil to attack/probe/exploit said weaknesses. This would have historical alterations hypothetically documented and would have the curious effect of creating the Chaos Insurgency every time they managed to capture the item as well as strengthening and altering the goals of the foundation. Since the goal of the foundation is to contain anomylous objects, the Chaos Insurgency will always inevitably capture this item, but because their existence is to steal such items from the SCP foundation, the reality altering properties would manifest to recreate or alter the SCP foundation as the current owner of the object with the previously exploited weakness removed. This would make its object class thaumiel(?) since, any group that successfully stole the object would simply alter reality so that the SCP foundation once again possessed it, with better procedures and resources to protect it.
Addendum: [Optional additional paragraphs]
Because the SCP foundation is designed to contain anomalous objects, the group the object would create would be one whose purpose is to steal them… however, the moment that group comes in possession of the object, the natural foil to that group is a foundation whose purpose is to secure and contain anomalous objects.
At a minimum the alteration would create an iteration of the foundation, or an update to it that would allow it to quickly resecure the item.
If, say, the GOC were to possess the object, the object would manifest a group that always prevented them from destroying it just as they were about to, but that group would then have a foil created for them. That actually might be a good way to explain how it came into SCP possession
