Item #: SCP-4319
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4319 has been established a No-Entry-Zone and its border is to be guarded by one mobile outpost. Any civilian who witnesses SCP-4319 is to be administered Class-A amnestics. Procedure Ofilire-4319 is to be carried out every ten days.
Description: SCP-4319 is an area of smooth, orange, undulating ground. It is exactly circular and approximately 500 meters in radius at time of writing. SCP-4319 is capable of transmuting ground around its perimeter into SCP-4319. This causes SCP-4319 to spread at a speed of 0.5 centimeters a day. Large holes, 3-10 meters in diameter are situated seemingly randomly on the surface of SCP-4391. All attempts to damage or destroy SCP-4319 have been unsuccessful.
SCP-4319-1 is a lake 50 meters across at its widest point and 10 meters deep. SCP-4319-1 is able to change its location when unobserved.1 SCP-4319-1 has not been spotted outside of SCP-4319. No water-related anomalies, such as SCP-1128 have an effect on SCP-4319-1, despite sample tests showing the lake to be comprised of pure water. An island, designated SCP-4319-2 is situated in the middle of SCP-4319-1. The island is resistant to the spread of SCP-4319 for unknown reasons.
SCP-4319 cannot be accessed from below ground as any attempt to dig into the surface from underneath results in resurfacing on the perimeter of SCP-4319. Similarly, the aforementioned holes cannot be found by digging underneath SCP-4319. Thus, SCP-4319 has been proven to not follow the laws of regular space.
Addendum 4319.1: Procedure Ofilire-4319
Procedure Ofilire-4319 is to be carried out every ten days at 5 pm, local time. Procedure Ofilire-4319 consists of polluting SCP-4319-1 with 30 kilograms of any one type of material that is harmful to aquatic life (such as plastic or oil). The SCP-4319-1 will then proceed to shrink until it has completely disappeared. Anything fully submerged in SCP-4319-1 will disappear along with the lake. Clouds will gather over SCP-4319, although never crossing SCP-4319's boundary. Rain will fall for approximately the next 3 hours. Similarly, the rain will never cross SCP-4319's boundary. Fallen rain will begin to trickle in a straight line towards the location of where SCP-4319 disappeared, regardless of whether the rain encounters undulations. SCP-4319-1 will fill up and spread of SCP-4319 will cease for approximately 10 days and 7 hours. It is currently believed that SCP-4319 requires energy to spread, and Procedure Ofilire-4319 drains SCP-4319 of that energy.
Addendum 4319.2: Discovery
SCP-4319 was spotted by a lone hiker who reported it to the police. Embedded agents alerted the foundation and upon arrival, Mobile Task Force Delta-5 ("Front Runners") acquired a note reading:
Thank God someone has come to take this monstrosity off my hands. It's so difficult keeping it at bay.
Due to the foundation's ease of containing SCP-4319, it is thought that whoever was stopping the spread before the foundation used a different method.
Addendum 4319.3: SCP-4319-3
3 members of Mobile Task Force Zeta-9 ("Mole Rats") explored one of the holes on SCP-4319's surface. It was discovered that the holes led to a large cave system, spanning many kilometers. The cave walls were rough, unlike the smooth surface of SCP-4319. The team discovered a mass of single celled creatures, 50 centimeters across, feeding on SCP-4319. Later designated SCP-4319-3, it was confirmed that it was an undiscovered species. Testing with SCP-4319-3 is currently pending.
