Special Containment Procedures: Due to the location of SCP-x's manifestation in our reality, discreet containment is difficult.
Description: SCP-x is a pocket dimension estimated to have a radius of ~60AU. It consists of a copy of the solar system, extending ~10AU from the Kuiper Belt. SCP-x partially exists inside a separate 4D universe, with the gravitational tug of various unidentified 4D masses pulling Earth and the other astronomical bodies away from the sun.
SCP-x's Earth is suffering severe effects due to this increased distance from the sun. The average temperature is steadily declining, causing a rapid global ice age. It is estimated that within a year, the surface of the oceans will have completely frozen along with the water vapor in the atmosphere. The complete freezing of the oceans and total collapse of the atmosphere is estimated to not take place for another 1,000 years or more.
The only manifestation of SCP-x in our reality is a spherical space-time anomaly with a diameter of 20m, located at 41°05'08"N 72°53'47"W. Designated SCP-x- , the anomaly is theorized to be an Einstein-Rosen bridge, however this is unconfirmed. Half of SCP-x- is submerged below the water line, with the air and water within its diameter existing in a dimensional flux. When outside matter, such as a boat or animal, enters SCP-x- , they are instantaneously transported into SCP-x.
Discovery and Origin: SCP-x was created as a result of particle accelerator testing at Foundation Site-92, publicly known as Brookhaven National Lab. On date, a quantum black hole was created using the Foundation's Large Hadron Collider, or LHC for short. The artificial black hole vanished nearly instantaneously, leaving behind too little Hawking radiation to have fully decayed.
On date a little bit later, a small amount of Hawking radiation was detected coming from the central basin of the Long Island Sound, ~25km north of Site-92. This coincided with the disappearance of a small cross-sound ferry, which was carrying ██ passengers. Using a combination of the radiation and last known location of the ferry, the location of SCP-x- was located and secured.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-X's entire perimeter is to be surrounded by a 3 meter high barbed wire fence at a distance of 250 meters from the anomalous area. A second 3 meter high electric wire fence is to be erected 100 meters away from the anomalous area. This fence is to have a voltage of 8,000 volts and an amperage of 100 miliamps. Multiple security cameras are also to be stationed around SCP-X's perimeter and monitored by locally stationed Foundation forces..
In the event any unauthorized individuals enter or attempt to enter the closed off area, the local Foundation forces (disguised as park rangers) will be dispatched to apprehend and interview them. Unless they are specifically aware of SCP-X and its anomalous affects, they will be administered Class A amnestics and released. The corresponding instances of SCP-X-1 are to be handled following Dolly Protocol.
Description: SCP-X is a 25 square kilometer area of temperate deciduous forest found within █████ █████ █████████ National Park. While SCP-X displays all of the expected properties of a wooded area in its biome, it is anomalous in that it is perfectly mirrored down a north to south axis. Changes on one side appear on the other down to the molecular level. Both the west and east half of SCP-X have exactly the same area of 12.5 square kilometers. The anomalous effect extends 50 meters above the ground and encompasses every tree in SCP-X.
SCP-X appears to be able to instantly manipulate matter in any way necessary to produce the mirrored effect. This seemingly includes the creation and destruction of matter. The current hypothesis is that SCP-X is able to pull new matter from and deposit excess matter into its own pocket dimension, although this has yet to be proven.
SCP-X's anomalous area has a Hume rating lower than Earth's average. While it is not immediately noticeable to those in the anomalous area and has little effect on them, it is believed that this is what allows SCP-X to manipulate matter in such a fashion. It would also provide evidence for the pocket dimension hypothesis, as the lower Hume rating would allow SCP-X to connect to and interact with other dimensions more easily.
When an inanimate object enters the anomalous area, a perfect recreation appears on the other side. When said inanimate object exits the anomalous area, the copy simply vanishes.
Clones of living organisms (designated as SCP-X-1), unlike inanimate objects, do not vanish after their original version exits SCP-X, instead entering a vegetative state. Observed instances of SCP-X-1 do not display sentience and have no higher cognitive function. Upon death, instances of SCP-X-1 vanish in the same manner as inanimate objects.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING SCP-X
Before the Dolly Protocol is listed, it is important to note that some information previously stated in this document is false.
- Falsehoods include:
- Instances of SCP-X-1 are stuck in a vegetative state.
- Instances of SCP-X-1 do not display sentience and have no higher cognitive function.
These falsehoods were added to allow the protocol to be carried out with maximum efficiency and to prevent the failure of the protocol due to moral dilemmas perceived by those carrying it out.
When an instance of SCP-X-1's original organism exits SCP-X, they are left in a temporary comatose state. They will remain inactive for a period lasting no less than 72 hours. After this SCP-X-1 will regain consciousness and assume the personality, memories, and character of the organism that lead to their creation.
An area extending no further than 1 kilometer around all instances of SCP-X-1 have a Hume rating decreased to that of SCP-X's affected area. This anomalous effect is extremely hazardous in conjunction with reality bending individuals or objects. Because of this, containment of instances of SCP-X-1 is not feasible and would require a large amount of resources.
These factors lead The Ethics Committee to devise the Dolly Protocol under the following conditions:
- While the protocol does sometimes require the death of an innocent civilian, if left alive they would only endanger more indivuals and may cause further death.
- The Dolly Protocol is painless and inflicts no suffering due to SCP-X-1's comatose state.

- Instances of SCP-X-1 are to be collected and transported to the nearest Foundation site, Site-██, by any discreet means.
- Instances of SCP-X-1 are taken to the site's medical bay and are administered a lethal injection.
It is important to note that Step 2 must take place before 72 hours have passed since SCP-X-1's creation. If Step 2 is not carried out within the given time frame, SCP-X-1 is to be eliminated as quickly as possible due to their dangerous anomalous effects.
