Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Ensure no variations of the song are spread. This is done by promoting the original version created by Stan Rogers.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a ritual song through which practitioners can contact the spirits of those who died at sea, and those who had strong connections with them. This method is quite similar to methods employed by MTF Omega-0, and research between a connection is underway.
This ritual was originally discovered in 1784 by an unknown private, previously under the command of Elcid Barrett. The song describes the tale of the narrator's time serving on the HMS Antelope, a ship active from the mid 18th century and destroyed in 1778 - killing the entire crew, with the exception of the narrator.
It is believed that the songwriter first came up with the tune and first verse, which came to become connected to the spirits of his former crewmates through repetition and association.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX are to be kept within a standard biological containment cell at Site-XXX. The containment unit is to be kept as uniform as currently possible, with no indentations or outcroppings on any of the interior surfaces exceeding a 0.5mm deviation from baseline. SCP-XXXX is to be given 15cm3 of feed twice a week via a remote delivery system equipped with an airlock mechanism to remove chance of containment breach during feeding. For further information on remote delivery system, contact Dr. ████████, head of SCP-XXXX research.
Outside of testing, no personnel are to be within the containment cell at the same time as SCP-XXXX, nor is any foreign object not approved by research lead to be left in its vicinity. Following the containment breach occurring on 27-Sep-15, the containment cell must have cubic dimensions, for risk of a similar breach.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an arachnid with an appearance resembling Tegenaria domestica (barn funnel weaver). In its youth, SCP-XXXX specimens exhibit only one anomalous trait, that they do not require sustenance, and are visually indistinguishable from non-anomalous spiders. These young do not require any food or water for 9 to 12 days, after which they develop their primary anomalous properties.
At the end of this developmental period, SCP-XXXX specimens will develop an orifice on their abdomen externally reminiscent of a human vulva. This opening is used for feeding and for reproduction. Even after developing this orifice, specimens will continue to grow, with a predicted upper bound of ██m from floor to abdomen.
SCP-XXXX instances require a volume of 45cm3 of food a week to continue growth, or 30cm3 a week to maintain size. Volume and shape of the feed appear to be the only factors in SCP-XXXX's feeding habits and growth. SCP-XXXX can consume any material, given it's physical shape resembles a human penis with testicles. As an SCP-XXXX instance becomes larger, the shape required for the instance to consume it becomes abstracted, allowing it to consume only vaguely phallic objects. It is estimated that at a SCP-XXXX instance measuring ██m from floor to abdomen would have an abstraction so great that any object could comply, allowing the instance to consume any and all objects it could physically access.
Following observation on 09-Apr-13, it has been observed that SCP-XXXX can reproduce. This process involves an instance regurgitating a viscous, clear substance into the orifice of another instance, hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. After a period of 3-5 days, SCP-XXXX-1 will lay between 8-115 eggs. During this period, SCP-XXXX-1 will show no physical changes. The eggs will hatch after a length of 10-16 days.
Addendum #1: SCP-XXXX was discovered in a home in the Chicago suburbs after the resident was found dead in his house, missing his penis and testes. The Foundation was subsequently involved, and isolated a total of 29 instances of SCP-XXXX living within the home. The later discovery of SCP-XXXX being able to reproduce revealed that several SCP-XXXX young existed in the house, which the Foundation did not contain. These young are assumed to have escaped into the wild, and the Foundation is to monitor for reports of SCP-XXXX and for medical reports of people missing a penis and testes.
Addendum #2: SCP-XXXX caused a containment breach on 27-Sep-15 due to a flaw in the containment cell. During regular feeding, an instance of SCP-XXXX measuring 1.2m from floor to abdomen consumed the air in its containment cell, resulting in the implosion of the cell. At the time, the containment cell was 3m x 3m in base and 8m tall, with the remote feeding system at the top of the cell. Following this, specifications of containment cells have been restricted and all containment engineers are mandated to read addendum #2.
This is another tab I'm making as a placeholder so later I can add more, separate ideas to this page.
